-spare any Chevalier I come in contact with and have the option to kill.

Ouch, Hinata. I always thought you were a nice, kind character.

I won't

 *play as a male

 *play as a blood mage

*side with the Templars. Ever. Forever.

 *play as a warrior

*wear one of those god awful mage hats

*wear a mage robe, rogue armor FTW

*destroy Ferelden, (if we're given the option)

I won't play the game if I discover there is anything close to the craptastic writing of DA3 and especially insanity that ensued in act 3 of DA2 between the mages and templars. If there is even a whiff of this kind of nonsense where everyone goes crazy and the leaders are as evil as the ones they proclaim to protect others from, I will walk away completely satisfied to live with DAO and one story with no follow up except that wonderful head cannon that I create. It's been done. Don't do it again.

This is my promise, BW. You've got ONE shot left to win me over. ME3, ME2 deviation from ME story, and DA2 complete pandering to mainstream while you happily kicked aside RPG fans along with a horrible story over all have led me to this. I hope you are listening, and I hope your writers have really put their heart and soul into making this a whole lot better than DA2 was as I know I am not alone on this front.

- fire crossbows, at least at game launch

- have spears, or other pole arms (unless we're told something we haven't been told yet)

- play a 4th class (until a mod comes along to make one)

- have mods shortly after game launch (that's probabilistic, but I'm making that call based on the low probability of a toolset)

- see even 25% of the dialogue my character's about to say (see other threads)

- care about whether Hawke or the Warden appears or how

- play or see a character of Asian phenotype

- go to Tevinter

- torture people (and I would assume that means not even reading or seeing about other people doing it, but that hasn't been made clear yet)

- have magic items with usable properties (beyond potions)

- see what the Fex look like

Hmmm. I could keep going for a while, but that list is a good start. Those are things I'm close to sure I won't do.

I probably won't:

- buy DA:I at full price

- play as a non-elf in my first playthrough

- play as a dwarf

- do romances

- play as a mage

I will not allow anything to stand in the way of my Inquistitor in his goals.

I will not hesitate to kill, steal, butcher or destroy anything that stands between the Inquisitor and their goals.

I will likely not play as an elf.

I will likely attempt to put Gaspard on the throne as a singular ruler if possible.

I will ensure stability.

I agree on all of these. Nothing about dwarves appealed to me though varric was cool. But playing as a dwarf? Nope!

Why are mages wearing robes when it's pretty much brands them. Staffs too! Hello... can be be less obvious?

Romances by DA2 were terrible and not even worth it. None of them even were enticing to me. I tried and got bored so I absolutely agree on this unless they make them as involved and interesting as they were in DAO.

When I played DnD and I rolled a mage, the first thing I did was to make my character less mage looking as possible since the world we where playing in was pretty much the same Mage hate as the DA world is. With how much hate and seething you can get in the DA world as a mage, you'd think some of them would be crafty enough to pretend to not be a mage! Silly little mages, this is why you are found so easy when you're running around being apostates.

The only romance I ever thought was worth it in DA2 was Fenris, and that was because I had to work really hard to get him rather then them just falling into my lap. Many of the characters I see better a friends rather then butt buddies, even in DAO for me I had issues romancing anyone but Morragin unless I played an entirely different character.

Ouch, Hinata. I always thought you were a nice, kind character.

They are the only faction I can think of where calling them all murderers is entirely accurate. Even the Darkspawn can't claim that. But I retract my statement since I was emotionally compromised when I posted it.

Hmm

Won't play as a male (but I never do anyway I guess)

Won't play as a human now there is race choices back

(if it's there)Won't play a blood mage unless people against it actually notice and that has an impact.

Won't need another game for a long while hopefully :D

Probably won't:

-Play as a two-handed warrior.

-Play as a male dwarf.

-Use Cole in my party. I know him being a companion is only a rumor, but if he's there I'm telling him to go away asap and ignoring his recruitment entirely during subsequent playthroughs. Which hopefully are options.

-Play as evil/ruthless/aggressive.

-Deal with ecosystem management too much. In general this doesn't really seem fun to me.

-Destroy any groups/countries/people/etc.

I won't rush through the game to get to the ending.  Every nook and cranny is mine to investigate.

I won't take release day off work (unless my willpower is unexpectedly weakened, such as by another occurrence of my 29th birthday anniversary.  Laidlaw did make a comment in the PAX panel about people commenting on the game in 6 months)

I won't play a human or Qunari my first time through.  I'm sure I'll get to them eventually.

I won't play a warrior or a mage my first time through.  (Now where did I put my daggers and bow?)

I won't make assumptions about which companions each of my Inquisitors will get along with until they have actually met them.

I won't assume that my Dalish or dwarf Inquisitors care one way or the other about the circle/Templar conflict or about the civil war.  Let's see which side will benefit the Inquisition most (or insults my PC the least) before I provide assistance.

Won't fully commit to a faction. That's it. Full Templar leadership......makes dumb**s decisions. Mage leadership.....more dumb**s decisions. Dalish clan leaders are pretty lacking in common sense as well, not to mention they drop like flies. Other than that, everything goes

- I will not call my first character Revan.

- I will not base my first mage off of my Sith Inquisitor or call him Darth Sparky

- I will not do my traditional Ultimate Darkside Run. That's for the second playthrough.....

- I will not look up the Dragon Age: Inquisition article on DA wiki until after i have finished the game

What I will do:

- I will consult Machiavelli and Sun Tzu's works for strategy

- I will find every possible way to die in the game

- I will break my opponents' resolve

- I will play every race, gender and class

I probably won't play as a dwarf or qunari. I probably won't roll a mage. I probably won't ever play a character that falls under any conventional semblance of "bad." I probably won't ever learn the intricacies of the combat systems.

I probably won't

Play as a woman

Play as a human

Play as an elf

Play a mage

Destroy the chantry

Romance someone who isn't Cassandra

Won't spare blood mages

That's it for now.
