You're confusing ease for the player with ease for the character.

The player sits in an air-conditioned room, snacks, and presses buttons on a plastic controller or keyboard. That's us. That's what we do. We play a game. Not a chore. Not an exam. Not work. A game. A game designed to be fun. Not frustrating or tedious.

You're going to head into absurdities very quickly if you start thinking that experience needs to be 'hard.'

Ease for the player by no means designates ease for the character.

How is difficulty a chore? I think you confuse your own opinion of fun with how others view a "fun gameplay experience" You know how many games sell off of their difficulty? To present a game that can performed with ease presents no challenges leaving people with no feeling of accomplishment. Accomplishment is what drives a vast majority of gamers, ask Dark Souls fans

It was framed like that. And that's simply not true in the slightest.

Choices are not invalidated or 'broken' in the least by having one option offer significantly better outcome.

Yeah it is, it turns playing a game into an academic excersise with a right and wrong answer. I don't like my games to give me exam style problems in game.

Way to undermine a feigned stance of neutrality by claiming one party does something because it's good and one does it to make money. Gosh, there's no implication there, is there?

I still hope Bioware gets rid of quest markers. Now that will really drive people wild.

All that non-regen health meant in BG was that you spent long periods of the game around the camp fire. It was boring and pointless.

I think the easy solution is for casual modes or narrative modes to have things like regen health and lower enemy load outs. Making difficulty levels is just good business. Why only market to casual gamers that want an easy experience that allows them to experience the story OR hardcore gamers that want a combative experience that challenges them? They can do both and maximize the amount of customer base they attract. Seems like a win/win all around.

That's resting, that is not the same as regen health that we are talking about and you know it. We are talking about during a battle or after where health DOES not regen and you have to heal yourself or purchase a perk that will heal you which is later game.

I don't see it as different, but that might be just my own symantically understanding not meshing with other people. :P

Kinda an all or nothing guy when it comes to adding or removing features. When I hear no health regeneration except for healing and potions, I assume it means no regeneration at all unless by potion or spell, including resting. If that's not what's been meant, I apologize for the misunderstanding.

No, it meant you had to think more before rushing into combat and putting your axe in someones face.

95%? At least? Probably more?

You know how many gamers play the game on normal or easy? The overwhelmingly majority. If most people played on 'super-ultra-hard,' such a difficulty level wouldn't be super-ultra-hard. It would be normal.

The numbers are utterly clear. Most players aren't that interested in playing on that high of a difficulty. Including myself. I think it's you that's projecting your own opinion on others without any basis. You're explicitly contradicted by the statistics.

As a fellow casual player, these are some of my concerns as well. In fact, let me deflect some of the 'not a real gamer' from you onto me. Nothing sends me to console commands faster than limited healing and contrived timed events. I prefer to focus on exploring the world and navigating the story with my characters than worry about micromanaging my resources. The first is fun for me (I love the god like feeling as well) the later, not so much. I do enough of that in real life. :)

Regen health is always said for health that regens during combat/outside combat by default, without the help of anything(potions, sleep ect That is what some of us are talking about and why we are happy DAI is like this. You will simply have to manage your resources and plan battles more, which is not really that hard. If you bullrush everything then you will have to live with the consequences.

Way to make assumptions, saying one party has made money due to something, doesnt automatically mean they only do it for the money. You're making a big deal out of a non issue

Bottom line is, people find challenges fun, to call difficulty in video games "a chore" only because you dont like challenge in gaming, is just generalizing based on your own opinionated perspective of what games "should" be like

You're a monster. Why would you want mass effect 3's quest system back?

I'm gonna mod the shizzle out of this game because of this. Why? Because I can.

Super weapons and godmode hear I come.

Either that or I'll just give myself endgame weapons and armor at the beginning of the game. I f***ing love PC gaming.

You made a massive leap in conclusions. How does me supporting a gampelay mechanic that adds difficulty automatically make a supporter of "super-ultra-hard" mode? Nowhere did i say i wanted any of this, i only supported a gameplay mechanic presented in the demo, nothing else

I could manage that pretty well. Think a lot of people could as well. I just hope they fix ranged enemies as well with this though. Those guys were the worst when it came to peppering down health in every battle.

Just because people have different reasons for wanting to play games doesn't mean either party is "wrong".
