Let's talk about the voice actors that we want to see...err hear in the up coming Dragon Age game. I already mentioned before in the Blonde Elf Girl AKA Sera thread that I thought Kari Wahlgren (Skyrim's Vex) would be a good choice, but I'd love to have her or a companion who was snarky, opinionated and funny like Daria (Tracy Grandstaff) or Jane (Wendy Hoopes). Wendy Powell (Envy - FMA) would be a good tough-as-nails female knight or rogue, Mary Elizabeth McGlynn (why hasn't she voiced DA yet??) could be anyone really, I'd say Empress Celene but the French accent....maybe Shannon Rayner who voiced the very French Ser Mercedes (Dragon's Dogma)? I'd love it if David Lodge (Jiraiya, Kenpachi, Grigori - Dragon's Dogma) could voice Iron Bull and Keith Silverstein could voice Solas.

Okay I don't remember names but I would looooove female Shepard's VA for female Inquisitor or companion, and that main guy from The Last of Us for male. Man that dude has TALENT. He can do so many different sounding voices.

I would NOT like seeing Mark Meer voicing anything. To be fair I've only experienced him as male Shepard, but he was about as interesting as a brick. :P (I still loved the character in the end though.)

Mark Meer voiced all the vorcha and hanar from Mass Effect, several of the elves from Dragon Age Origins and Dragon Age 2 (including Jethann), Tug from Leliana's Song, and all of the Disciples from Awakening. So you've very likely encountered him in other roles.

Shepard can be a touch bland at times, but Meer's definitely got range.

It's because Shepard (of both genders) was written rather flat in the first game. Mark Meer is a funny guy and as Shepard was allowed to be more snarky in the sequels, I found myself enjoying his performance more and more. Not to say he's only good when he's being funny, he knocked it out of the park whilst handling of the emotional stuff in ME3 and at times was even better than Hale.

I must admit, it did take me an appallingly long time to realise that loads of characters in DA and ME were also voiced by him, he definitely has a great range and it's unfair that people take Male Shep in ME1 as the sole representation of his acting ability.

Besides, would you dismiss Troy Baker being in Inquisition based solely on Kai Leng? Congratulations, you've just lost Vincent, Booker and Joel!

Troy is a very talented voice actor and I definitely hope he will be lending his vocals to the upcoming game :)

I always tend to enjoy Troy's roles, which is why it was a shame when Kai Leng turned out to be such a terribly ineffective villain. Troy Baker voicing that character should have made him utterly threatening, yet the writing forced him to instead come across as Dick Dastardly.

Am I the only one who really hopes we might get Laura Bailey for a role in Inquisition or a future game? She's definitely one of my favourite VA's out there.

And I wouldn't mind seeing Nicholas Boulton and Jo Wyatt back again, I enjoyed them both in DA2 and was happy to see them again in ME3 and SWTOR.

Jennifer Hale, obviously.  In all the roles.  Male and female.  Except for those being played by Tim Curry.  Femshep and Frankenfurter; what more could a game need?

Oh, okay; James Earl Jones as Andraste.   I know, I know, he's not the first person you would think of, what with the booming bass and all, but that man raises the standard of anything he is in; he can totally do a martyred goddess.

Actually, as long as they get people who can do a credible Orlesian accent where one is needed, I don't have any preferences.  Except for Jennifer Hale.

Y'know I've always wanted to hear Jennifer Hale or someone with a similar (Claudia Black?) voice a staunch anti-sith watchman type character in TSL (which is whom I thought Handmaiden was going to be) so maybe a staunch Inquisitor supporter? Speaking of TSL, Kelly Hu...she has a nice voice, wouldn't mind hearing her again.

I love Jo Wyatt as female hawke, she is just brilliant though sometimes abit rusty. She really shaped up as imperial female agent though, strong talent and accent, want her for a new role or reprising of Hawke. I like Troy Baker, but he is becoming Nolan North, he is in everything. Let him rest + both Kai Leng and Delsin in InFamous have been abit, meh.

I agree on Kari Wahlgren which not just Vex in Skyrim, but so great as Jedi Knight female in Swtor. So many options here!

AWR would be great. I really wanted to romance Ser Cauthrien in Origins, was irked when Mhairi ended up dying an hour into Awakening and Traynor quickly became my favourite new character in ME3, especially in the CItadel DLC.

It'll never happen, but I could definitely Eastwood as grizzled Knight-Commander trying to keep his Templars from rebelling. Similarly, does anyone else think that James Earl Jones or Keith David would make an amazing Fade Spirit or Demon?

As marvelous as all these actors are, there's a danger that we are all wishing for faster horses, when there's a model T Ford waiting out there to be discovered.  So, I actually hope that they find a fresh, talented new bunch of people, or people we would never even think of as VAs, and DAI becomes their breakout role.

I have faith that they can do both ;)

Kari Wahlgren would be great to have in one of her snarky-strong performances.

I would love to hear Steve Blum - not like Grunt or even Andronikos Revel, but more of his Spike Spiegel or Mugen voice (not as gruff.)

I would also love to hear Adam Howden again. I thought he gave a fantastic performance as Anders.

I always thought Dominic West of The Wire would be a good choice for the DA series. Here's a clip of West (from England) playing an American who's playing (badly) at being a posh Englishman.

I just remembered Michael Fassbender's performance as King Logan from Fable 3, he's got a good voice and can play a decent enough villain. Would be interesting to hear him voice a heroic character.

If I wish hard enough, maybe, juuust maybe, Laura Bailey will be Sera. The voice and appearance just match up perfectly in my head.

Also? Adam Harrington as... as SOMEONE. ANYONE. Perhaps DHMG if he's actually a companion, Maker willing.

Other than those idle wishes of mine, I'm actually really looking forward to hearing any fresh voice talent DA:I has to offer. It's always nice to find that jewel of a performance you didn't expect to hear.
