The circle is a pretty big place. I am sure if you've lived your whole life there you'll be familiar with location and schedule of templars.

As for leverage I can see templars using that against a mage. They can threaten to send them in another circle or in a different part the building so they won't see each other again. They can even threaten physical harm to that loved one.

Why would they do that? I mean if they are a corrupt Templar like Alrik they can just as easily threaten you directly with physical punishment and tranquility and what not. If not, then what's the point of random threats?

If anything, the Templars are just as likely to join in the fun.  Ryse's father was a Templar, after all.

All mages are kept under check and threatened to behave regardless of whether they have a lover or not. I mean if you are a mage that has no problems with rules everything should be fine.

I'm just assuming that the circle is having it's ''good'' times, mages are behaving and templars are not corrupt. And then wonder where mages have their fun that's it.

Don't mages have their own rooms? I remember the Warden getting a room (or a section of one shared with three others), new robes and a staff for passing the Harrowing.

 

Only the Apprentices sleep in those big rooms together.

So harrowing is like a passage to adulthood as well. If you want to get it on and party hard better study hard first, smooth.

It's not really their own rooms considering they share with 2, sometimes 3 others, without any doors.
