Damnit, I've stated a few time already, I didn't ask about how things go wrong. I asked how things are right the proper way.

Maybe there's a room in each Circle specifically for sex, as well as its own system of credits.

 

At the beginning of every month from the 18th birthday onward, every mage gets a limited number of sex credits.

 

Basically, it's all regulated.

Given that some of the female Circle Mages in the Tower mentioning that some of the Templars have been known to peek during their bathtime, I doubt that even the bathrooms offer that much privacy. Perhaps after living with the Templars constantly watching all their lives, Mages simply don't have any hangups regarding nudity taboos and so aren't bothered if they get it on in front of people. If the Templars don't like it, they don't have to watch.

 

And has been said before, Wynne and her various lovers, Anders and Karl, as well as Jowan and Lily were able to hook up regularly under the nose (or so they thought) of everyone, so it's not like it's unheard of.

Yeah Jowan and Lily were able to hook up undetected by the templars plus there were places where Uldred and his cronies were able to practice and teach blood magic while leaving a trail to people like Jowan for the templars to find. I imagine the tower has plenty of nooks the mages use for various extra curriculum activities.

I'd just assume they did it in secluded corners or some small side room that's patrolled less often or took the opportunity when nobody was around. Or did it when everybody else was sleeping.

 

Also, like myahele mentioned, the circle is a big place and when you've lived there your entire life you probably know where to sneak away and what the templar's schedules look like.

 

Also, Jowan was able to hide a romance with an initiate and Uldred and his buddies were able to hide that they were studying blood magic. While the templars watch the mages, it's not like there are cameras in all rooms recording everything the mages do 24/7,

I always figured it would be like something similar to people having sex in a school. There's always ways, the halls aren't always full of people, certainly at night there can be only so many people out wandering the halls and actually caring. Night watches are dreadful. A place that seems public during the day could turn very private at night. Night being a more perfect time for the longer affections while I bet a few stole kisses in the day. Even in public sleeping places, I bet some slip into each others beds and have some quiet sexy time.

Seriously, I think it's fascinating. I'm really curious about the rules. Are the mages/apprentices allowed to have their own items? Money? Assuming somebody sent them money/things, which I guess wouldn't be the case with most mages. Are they ever allowed outside, or do they spend their entire lives without ever getting to even go outside for some fresh air and get some sun? What do they do all day? Do the mages have a set schedule, or do only the apprentices? What do you gain in terms of freedom when passing your harrowing other than moving up a level in the tower? Do people often get transferred from one circle to another, or do you pretty much spend your entire life with the same people making them something of a family (in which case I don't see much sex occurring between the mages, only between mages and templars)?

I would love to find out more about this.

Well I think the mages can have sex in the circle but our sources are Anders and Wynne only and it seems the Templars do abuse the love and relationship between the mages to "control" them. But I doubt they care about mages having casual sex.

That's Templars job to control mages regardless.
