I'm pretty much a sucker for card games inside of other games, typically because the winnings actually go to a use after I'm done with the minigame.  (Seriously I think half of my playtime of farcry 3 was poker...)  So I thought for a second how cool it would be if Inquisition had a Wicked Grace minigame and you could play with your companions and listen to them boast or quip at each other.  Perhaps add a cheating element that allows the player to cheat or catch your opponent cheating for extra fun.

And if it was available as an online element a whole other realm opens up of playing with your friends and taking their gold for some new drapes for that fancy castle.

I actually did post this in the old forum but I thought it wouldn't hurt to bring it back up for discussion again, in the fancy smancy new forum.

I tend to enjoy such mini games. That said I will reload when I lose especially if the amount you can win is significant. I played Pazack in KTOR until everyone refused to play with me. I used the quick save and reload button a lot.

Man, I'm torn. On one hand, I love any sort of card or board game mini game in RPGs.

On the other hand, I love them so much I tend to do nothing else in them. (No, I'm serious, I bought KOTOR during the Steam sale last Summer and I haven't even gotten off of the first planet because all I've done is play the gambling card game.)

Yeah that pretty much sums up my Far Cry 3 experience.

I like this idea alot. Especially if it involves companion dialogue.

- Cassandra getting angry because Varric cheated her out of her last bit of coin.

- Sera trying to bluff Iron Bull.

- DHMG cheating with magic and then claim its his moustache that provides his luck.

Fallout New Vegas was made better for the gambling really.

Especially with a 10 in Luck!

Dealer: Sir, we would like to thank you for coming, but please leave!

Courier: It's no problem! I would like to thank you for making me rich!

I would really enjoy a card or dice minigame myself, I hated how we could not play cards in Mass Effect! I would have loved a minigame where each NPC had their own skill level or personality at it or something.

As long as it's not an endless piggy bank you can run to, I'm all for it. I love mini-games of all types. They add breath of fresh air to the game.

Having that card table on the Normandy and not having a poker mini game was such a disappointment. I felt as if they were teasing me on purpose.
