The story: Up until the endings I thought it had the best story of the bunch, and was by far the most emotional chapter of the series.

The characters: For the most part squad mate interaction and dialogue improved with each game.

Gameplay: Also improved with each sequel

Inventory/ customization: I prefer ME3's take on it than either ME1 or ME2.

The soundtrack: Although all three games had good soundtracks, ME3 is probably my favorite

I liked that the squadmates moved around and had different things to say after each mission.

Cryo explosions are satisfying.

I think the weapon/inventory system had the best concept of all the games.

The DLC content, including the ability Lash.

Mordin's death.

I think that ME3 was the best in the series. Finally the reapers have come and the greatest battle of all time has began. The story is intense, which I liked very much. The characters were good. Well they have been good in earlier games but nevertheless. I liked that you could find your companions in different locations in Citadel and in Normandy. There were really amusing conversations between your companions. I guess there were all the elements from the previous games but better.

The more dynamic squad interaction. Moving around the ship, meetings on the citadel, etc. Nice change from just checking in after every mission.

Kaidan added as LI for both male and female Shepard's.

The amazing soundtrack.

The darker tone.

Anderson and Shepard's conversation at the end and the "What do you need me to do?" scene. For me, that was one of the most emotional moments and felt like the summation of Shepard's character.

I think that overall it has the best story of the bunch. The combat is definitely superior, and the improved squad banter is a definite plus.

Kaidan added as LI for both male and female Shepard's.

Female Shepard could romance Kaidan in ME1 and it continued through ME2 even Kaidan wasn't with you in the Normandy. But it was really nice that Kaidan came back. I started playing ME series from ME2 and I was a little bit disappointed that I couln't recruit Kaidan in ME2 and have a romance with him.

I know, I just meant him being added as a bi option was nice. He was the first character I romanced in ME1.

The way the iterations with the crew could be interrupted or complemented with other characters. It was cool to arrive at a section and see that 2 characters were arguing. Or trying to pay someone a visit only to find out he or she is not at his/her usual place and is having a talk with another person.

I also enjoyed the big effort the creators put in making the mission and post-mission dialogues differ according to who you took and the present status quo (if you had done a certain mission already, if someone from a previous game survived, etc).

The combat system, by far my favorite in the trilogy. It puts ME2 to shame.

The multiplayer section. I was very skeptical about it, but it turned out just fine. I´ve had some of the best times of my gaming life playing it.

The DLC modules were surprisingly good as well, except for Omega.

I quite enjoyed the graphics. Yes, dated and all that on the pc, but for a game developed thinking of the xbox 360, I think it not only looks quite good, but is very stable.

I liked the complexity in which powers can evolve in 2 different branches.

I did like the weight penalty over power cool-downs imposed on different classes, however allowing the use of any weapon and any quantity of weapons. It gives relative freedom of space while still imposing restrictions that demand strategic planning.

I did like the fact that not everyone can survive. In a sense this was true in me2 since you could not have both morinth and samara, but this happened prior to having both recruited. You could never recruited morinth. At least 5 recruit-able characters over the trilogy have to die by the end of the journey.

I also liked the fact that there was no vehicle (well, aside from the normandy dodging reapers).

I liked some of the resolutions, such as the geth-quarian conflict and its possible outcomes.

Combat, even though it was way too damn easy. The mechanics are great though... can't wait to see what ME4 brings us in this aspect.

The squad interactions. While I'm not the biggest fan of the actual squadmates in ME3, the way they interacted with one another and moved around the ship, plus their very context-dependent dialogue and banter, all made for something memorable.

The weapons upgrade system.

The level design. Much better than either ME2's narrow corridors or ME1's vast swathes of nothingness.

Citadel DLC. Not for plot, but sheer fun factor.

Leviathan. Again not for its actual plot, but the whole mystery and investigative design.

The basic idea that there's more than one way to resolve the Reaper threat. Problem is, the execution of it was downright terrible.

The extended cut. It fixed the third flashback to where I can see my LI instead of T'soni.

The lash bonus power. It created some very funny moments, especially when fighting Kai Leng

I like that I could do a playthrough that I could sabotage the genophage, kill the Quarians, let all the machines fry when picking destroy, killing a few squadmates and still end up with the breath scene. Excellent

Hearing the Cerberus soldiers crying "taking casulties"

Javik

Citadel dlc

Samantha Traynor. Smart, good looking and the voice.

Watching TIM kill Anderson

The characters: For the most part squad mate interaction and dialogue improved with each game.

Gameplay: Also improved with each sequel

The soundtrack: Although all three games had good soundtracks, ME3 is probably my favorite

I'll follow Han's example.

The Story: A bit more of a patchwork in my opinion. Yeah, it was definitely more linear and relevant to the overall plot to the series, but the quality was hit or miss, with more misses than hits. I found the story, especially the ending, to be severely lacking and it seemed more like a number of things were put together to just fit see what worked. That's how I believe the ending was; an attempt to wrap things up as deadlines and poor planning took their toll.

The Characters: I thought that the character interaction in ME3 was lesser due to autodialogue and very limited capability to define relationships with characters, as well as defining Commander Shepard himself. That said, a majority of the characters who had a significant focus in ME3 were uninteresting to me (to put it lightly). I had no care or sympathy for many of them, and was rather disappointed by the lack of agency over their fates in ME3's concluding arc.

Gameplay: In my opinion, it was a step forward in some places from ME2, and a step back in others. I liked the player maneuverability in ME3, and I adored the weapons for the most part (though many were redundant), but ME2's system felt the most 'real' to me.

Inventory: I like the weapons mods they do for ME3. I liked the upgrade system for ME2 better than the ME3 upgrade however.

Soundtrack: All of them are different. I prefer ME2's style, but ME3 has some of the best singular tracks. They're all different in stylings, with some big symphonic pieces, and others as sci-fi synthesizers with technical beats.

Combat improved immensely, even something as simple as increased turning speed or unlimited run.

RPG elements re-added to builds and weapons.

Jaw-dropping intro flying out of Earth's atmosphere as Reapers rain down on it.

Multiplayer was a remarkable success. Loads of fun.

Apocalyptic tone appropriate for the Reaper war.

Excellent character dialogue. In particular, Rannoch with a Tali LI is my favorite stretch of story in the series.

Best music of the trilogy.

Ambient conversations were amazing. In particular, the Alzheimer's grandmother looking for her son, developing a friendship with the asari clerk, then forgetting her. Then the conversation chain restarts.

What didn't I like would probably be a more appropriate question.

The gameplay was much improved over ME2, just like ME2 was much improved over ME1.  I was really surprised with the multiplayer, enjoyed it a lot.  The story, characters and music was amazing.

The only things I didn't like were things which I (personally) felt were missing - namely Harbinger & the Collector forces, Vehicular combat and exploration, hacking/decryption mini games etc.  But I can't really complain too much about what WASN'T there.

- the soundtrack
- the dynamic Normandy, with the crew moving around and having conversations with each other
- squadbanter during missions
- better customization options
- Shepard felt more alive to me than in ME2
- Liara's romance arc
- the Tuchanka storyline, Rannoch and the Cerberus coup
- Side quests, though fewer, capture the tone of the main story and integrate well into the storyline
- Many great moments with your squadmates and other characters (the goodbye conversations in London, Liara's time capsule...even small things like Charr's poem)
- combat was the best in the series
- The DLCs...Leviathan, Omega and Citadel were enjoyable and I also liked the EC (epilogues)
- Multiplayer was surprisingly fun

Multiplayer is pretty fun.

Power combos, 'cause explosions are cool.

Exploding heads.

Weapon selection was great too, even if I only use like 3 of them.

Single player was great as well.  Too much to list there.

The environments were great. Much much better than ME2's which felt artificial in a lot of places (the designs themselves were nice, but the stacks of crates and barriers and obvious shooting gallery corridors ruined it). ME3 got the sense of scale ME1 had with the level detail ME2 had.

Combat was fun too. Yes it was more conventional than ME1, and I appreciate that ME1 did something a little different from the standard shooter, but 3's was still the most fun imo.

Also the tone. A lot of people didn't like the grimdark, but you know what? I did. I like when a story takes itself seriously.

The sidequests were cool too, they felt relevant (even though as always there was too much Cerberus, but this isn't a complainy thread...) and just much more involved. And you had little tasks to do, simple ones, but they made it feel like more than 'kill stream of enemies, collect random artifact or other thing'
