- Weapon and armor customization
- Story-relevant sidequests, even if it was just MP maps
- Tuchanka arc
- Rannoch (visually amazing)
- Shepard felt more alive (with a few prominent autodialogue flops - Thessia, terracentrism, etc.)
- Grissom without Jack (don't get me wrong, I like Jack, but it's a stronger story)
- "Right now, I have this." Tali romance.
- Leviathan clue-hunting in the lab. "Art." *snickers*
- Javik
I'll have to expand this list over time.

I thought Liara and Garrus were vastly improved compared to their ME1 and 2 counterparts, making them some of favorites in the game. I dunno if I'm in the minority, but Vega adds a lot to the game for me as well, as does Traynor. Of course I can't forget Javik, the renegade representative.
Vega is a boss. I was really surprised how much I liked him.

I agree. I like Tali, and have ever since I first met her. Garrus was pretty good in ME1 and I liked him more as the series progressed. I didn't like Liara in ME1, loved LotSB and really liked her in ME3. I prefer her friendship path over the romance one.

While I'd agree that the plot development was lame, it was still an exciting moment in the game. I still vividly remember getting sweaty palms on that mission (on my first run), just freaking out about stopping the assassination, and then the standoff with VS was really tense as well.

He's probably the most spirited of the combat team on the ship, and the ship banter that involves him is probably my favorite, particularly those between him and Cortez and the other with Javik in the mess.

I think we'd spent too much time fighting Cerberus by then already. I was never able to take the coup mission seriously. At any point. From the scale of what was happening on the presidium (more atlas mechs? And how'd they get them there?), to the general lack of direction in the attack (Yep, gunning down civilians for no reason, doing it again fifty feet later), to Shepard standing around doing nothing while Thane got shanked. I was groaning during the car chase when Shepard started shooting a pop-gun through the glass instead of pulling up and scraping Leng off against one of the four bridges you pass under before Shepard reacts. Then there was the bit where he runs towards the elevator full of sword-wielding combatants instead of tossing a grenade in there or even just shooting at them. VS standoff with Liara and Garrus behind me: "Really, we're doing this again?" And then Cerberus gives up and "beats feet into the tunnels" because a couple of mall cops show up, and like Sur'Kesh before it, we see another "Why would Cerberus do this" "I don't know, but I'm going to find out" which is never pursued. While I'd agree that the plot development was lame, it was still an exciting moment in the game. I still vividly remember getting sweaty palms on that mission (on my first run), just freaking out about stopping the assassination, and then the standoff with VS was really tense as well.
...That's just about the entire mission, isn't it? Sorry, this thread is about the things we did like. That mission was a disaster from beginning to end.
Vega's a boss. I liked the different permutations in that fistfight with him - great character building for him and your Shepard both - and he's priceless when you have him shut down the first AA gun on Rannoch.

Vega's character grew on me. At first I didn't think much of him, but that changed when he crashed into Eva's shuttle on Mars. I liked him more and more as the game progressed. Him and Garrus trying to out-do eachother with their accomplishments, and then later when he tried to connect with Javik while cooking eggs. I thought, yeah this guy's alright.
Thane's death was the best part of the citadel coup attempt, and by best I mean the actual death scene in the hospital. Wow. I won't lie, I teared up. I call that an accomplishment considering how unimpressed I ended up being with him in ME2.
I liked all of EDI's conversations with shep. I liked her jokes. I liked her growing humanity.
I liked that Grunt lived on Utukku.
I liked curing the genophage. I liked Eve very much. I liked killing a reaper with a thresher maw. I would call the whole genophage arc the best part of the entire trilogy... even better than Vigil or the collector base, and that's saying something.
Javik. What a way to give the protheans to us players.
I liked Liara's conversation with her father.
I liked peace between the geth and quarians. I liked killing a reaper on foot with a laser pointer. I liked that I was able to punch han'Garrel in the gut and kick him off my ship.
I liked biotic combos.
I liked that every gun had a different sound.
I liked that little sideways jump/dodge the geth did every time I shot at them, even if it did drive me nuts.
Too many more things to mention.

I definitely love the huge variety of weapons, and that many of them had a very different "feel" to them. ME1 obviously didn't give us much to care about other than the actual stats of the weapon, and ME2 was anemic on the actual choices, but ME3 is where I actually started caring about everything from the sound it made to the aesthetic, especially when equipping the rest of the team. With the variety of weapons on hand, each team member can have a unique "signature" weapon that fits them. I can't imagine Garrus with anything but a black widow now, or James with anything but the Typhoon, and of course no one but Javik uses the particle rifle. I can't imagine my Shepard using anything but a Cerberus Harrier or Mattock.

For me it's Black Widow for Ash, Javelin for Garrus. In my current playthrough of ME3, I've been using drones to draw the bad guys out of cover for Garrus, and it's been tremendous fun to hear that shot from over my shoulder and see them go flying, or watch their heads explode.

My canon run has Kaidan survive, but in the times I do have Ash around, I tend to give her the Valiant now that I have the CE, but used to give her the M-97 Viper. As for AR's, the VS always gets the Valkyrie.

I usually go with the Saber for Ash. Dunno why, just seems to fit. She hardly ever uses it though. Usually Kaidan stays with the Paladin and that nice power damage mod.

- Citadel DLC
- Javik random comments and conversations
- Garrus romance
- Curing the Genophage! That was something I'm glad Bioware addressed
- Killing a Reaper (wanted more 1:1 battles and discussions with Reapers)
- Uniting the Quarians and the Geth
- Watching a worm take down a Reaper
- Ending Udina
- Ending The Illusive Man (this should be at the top. that moment was most satisfying)
- Combat / Combat moves
- The soundtrack wreaked havoc with my emotions. Well done Sam et. al.
Many more moments. Too many to list. Despite ending negativity... overall I love ME3.

It takes me a long time to afford the Paladin (and the Wraith for that matter), because I'm always spending my credits elsewhere upgrading the weapons I do have.

2. Soundtrack. Best in the series.
3. Sad/Emotional scenes. Loved them all!
4. DLC. I liked all of them.
5. Multiplayer. Especially when I first got my Asari Adept. Did not think I would like this feature but I did.
6. Squadmate interaction scenes. Superior to the other games.

Actually being able to kill the reapers.
When I first played this game, near the end I was starting to wonder if there was going to be some kind of terrible compromise that made the reapers an inextricable part of the universe. I sure was glad to watch them keel over and die.

I only wish we had 360 degree rotation like in DA:O. Hate going through a fifteen minute sequence just to see the jawbone is way too wide and cheek gaunt is screwed up again. The face design tool. I like all of the interesting faces that all of my different Shepards can have.

- Multiplayer / combat system
- "Leaving Earth" music track
- Citadel DLC
- Less/No filler tasks like driving and planet scanning
- Samantha Traynor
Runner-up: Injured Shepard sequence just before entering the beam. That really made me wonder the first time how this was going to play out. Little did I know...

Luckily the opening scene of ME1 gives you a good look at it in the first minute.

I mean, you have fifteen minutes of cinematics before and after before you're granted control and can go back to the character creator to try again. FNV let us fumble around with the character creator a second time when first leaving Goodsprings.Luckily the opening scene of ME1 gives you a good look at it in the first minute.

Kalros. It was the only organic to have any common sense to attack a reaper from behind in the trilogy.
