My male Dalish is showing unexpected chemistry with Leliana. I didn't hit on her immediately. Her approval is in the 30s and all unlocked conversations have been taken. She hasn't told me about Marjorlenne. Will I get another chance to initiate the romance?

You can only initiate the romance after you have done the Marjolaine quest.

Focus on giving her gifts.  The Andraste flowers really help here.  One in the Brecilian forest, one in Redcliffe, and one in the alienage.

 

Brecilian forest:  Once you enter through the camp, go forward and follow the path until you see the flower on the left side of the road.

 

Redcliffe: Nearby the windmill you pass on the way to the village.

 

The alienage: In the area where the big tree is (I forget what it's called) opposite of the hospice.  Between Valendrian's house and the orphanage, I think.

 

She also likes anything related to Andraste or the Chantry as well as the Blue Satin Boots you can buy from Old Tegrin on the road.  Once her approval is high enough, when you go to camp it will start the dialogue that triggers her quest, starting with the line, "I lied to you, you know?  About why I left Orlais." (I think that's how it went)

 

Like I said, focus on giving her gifts and you should be able to get her approval up.

I know how to get her approval up. My question was if I'd missed my chance to initiate the romance as a man because I didn't hit on her when I asked what someone like her was doing in the Chantry and if I needed to be aware of anything.

You have to do her quest which involves seeing her mentor, Marjolaine

There should be dialogue after Marjolaine where you ask about bards again. Pick the dialogue that says something like, "I heard sometimes Orlesians bards use seduction on their targets." Then say you'll try to seduce her. Instant romance. Or ask for a kiss when giving her the flowers.

Also if you miss the chance after that you can talk to her about when you talked about Majorlaine. Confusing sentence. You pick a conversation choice which is "She was very special to you?" And then she will respond in kind and say that she found the same in you, etc.

There are three opportunities: two at any time and an additional opportunity after the Marjorie quest. Two require a high approval 85(?) whether the warden is male or female. The first opportunity that occurs requires low approval if the warden is female, but still needs a high approval if the warden is male.
It's pretty easy to 'accidentally ' romance Leliana....

lol, I used to never talk to Leliana because I was afraid of accidentally romancing her.  

 

I have to remind myself to not worry about it sometimes.

Also Leliana is the easiest one to break up with as far as i recall, you can just throw in that "My duty as a grey warden comes first" or some spchiel like that and it works. Think you get like -1 affection.

This, the first conversation with Leliana (about chantry initiates being more lovely, forbbiden fruit etc...) is like a mine field much like that Anders convo in what little of DA2 that I played.

Leiliana is a minefield, same with Zev to be honest, but no one is worse than Anders. You have to take rivalry points from that smuck if you don't like his advances and man he advances quickly.

You don't have to take rivalry points to turn him down - just say "don't do it again" in the first flirtable convo.
