That's the beauty of the DA world. The spirits in the fade are privy to the subconscious of Thedas. Powerful spirits can thus impersonate the idea of gods and achieve their goals more easily. I doubt the Devs are going to ruin that balance of believers/ unbelievers from which this series truly profits. Unless of course this is the last game... then all bets are off, lol.

Legacy Spoilers!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

If the main antagonist is someone that we know of already my money would have to be on Corypheus. Obviously BW couldn't have insinuated any stronger that he was still alive and had transferred his consensus into whatever Grey Warden that you supported in Legacy. Also Sandal's little prophecy where he talks about the veil tearing and says the line "When he raises everyone will see." Then if you've seen the 30 minute Pre-Alpha gameplay that is on Youtube, you can hear the Venatori saying "he will rise."

I think that Cory is the best fit on the assumption that it is someone that we already know.

Interesting theory. However, given the tale of the Great Betrayal in which Fen'Harel banished the Gods to the heavens and the Forgotten Ones to the Abyss, I'm skeptical of the Dread Wolf wanting to cause a breach between the Beyond and the mortal realm when his greatest trick was essentially creating the Veil.

That might explain why the Inquisition is shown attacking the Grey Warden fortress...if whoever brought Cory back has accumulated a small cult comprised of Wardens? They could be a force to be reckoned with.

However cool that may be, though, only people who played the DLC know who Corypheus is...so it might still be out of the blue for a lot of players. Not that it matters too much, I guess.

I always thought of Flemeth as powerful character that isn't evil but wants everything the way it is while Morrigan wants the world to be better. Not necessarily evil but have different ways Thedas should work.If there was a villain it would have to be some type of King Demon or something similiar. The villain will likely be tied to all these Gods & The Maker. All we know is something or someone is coming & this is just the beginning.

I'm suddenly imagining a scenario where The Wardens are the main bad guys of Inquisition and have siezed the throne of the Anderfels..Being lead by Our Warden from Origins possessed by Corypheus. The final boss fight being us fighting against our Warden.

I am somewhat tempted to suggest that Sandal is the big bad behind DA:I, and then we learn that he was ultimately responsible for everything because Obfuscating Stupidity.

Then DA:I culminates in the Inquisitor being the player's first actual glimpse at just what, "Enchantment!" and "Not enchantment" entails for them.

That would be cool, but wouldn't that scenario be better for a game set in the Anderfels? Still possible, after all it seems each game we visit a new country. Just by countries alone we'll need villains for the Anderfels, Nevarra, Antiva, Rivain and Tevinter.

Wild guess a Tevinter mage or Celene with Morrigans help.

Honestly I have no idea who this could be.

I'd say Morrigan if I have to say anyone is the big bad.

I'm thinking we'll have to choose between her and somebody else.  Not necessarily Flemeth.  I think Morrigan and Flemeth are working together and not against each other.

I'm going to go with demon. Or person possessed by a demon/malignant force (ala Meredith)

Praying it wont be a current or former companion.

I'd love for it to be one of the elven pantheon wanting to break free.

Though i think it may be dragon related. In the comics and dawn of the seekers there are mages wanting to awaken ancient/high dragons. My guess is that they are all dreaming in the fade and with the breach they can go back to thier bodies.

I don't think its flemeth. She says she's done "enough for this world than it deserves" and the the "world has forgotten her"

As per tradition regarding the forbidden one I believe imshael will be an optional/hidden fight

The main villain of DA:I will be Divine Justina V

Who was it that encouraged the Mages to to think about freedom from the circle, as well as to investigate ways to revert the Rite of Tranquility? Justina V

Who was it that distracted the Templar and Seekers, allowing the Mages to convene, and in the end, revolt? Justina V

Who was it that, even knowing her sympathy for Mages, refused to take sides in the argument for the Empress, leading to one of the causes of the Orleasian Civil War? (by proving Celene's weakness in the nobles eyes) Justina V

Who encouraged the Empress to take action against the rumors of her "Elf Favoritism", which ended in the start of the Civil War? Justina V

Who sent out Seekers looking for the worlds most powerful and influential people (The Warden and the Champion) who could potentially stop her? Justina V

And who was it, that called the peace conference that just HAPPENED to be at the spot where the Fade tears opening, killing off those who would be most able to stop her, and causing more unrest as both sides probably blame the other?

Thats right. The Divine. Justina V

Clearly she has been planning this for some time, sowing discord everywhere, and turning everyone against one another. Who knows what her end game plan is, but i'm sure it won't be pretty.

The thing about the Fen'harel theory is that the figure that kills Fel was looking for the password to the Eluvians.  But the password was something like "the dread wolf's blessing" wasn't it?  It sounds like if Fen'harel would real he has something to do with the way the eluvians work and would surely be aware of such a password.

The other thing is that Fel seems to have great respect for Fen'harel and keeps using him as a teaching point - whereas he seems to fear the figure he interacts with at the end and sounds like he was only reluctantly working for it, given the way he worked against it's directives.

Besides, too many clues were dropped about Fen'harel, that it seems like it has to be purposely misleading.

I'm putting my money on it being something else.

I don't think Fen'Harel killed Felassan. The entire book had Felassan explain how Fen'Harel always found clever ways to kill people or get his mission accomplished. Simply murdering Felassan doesn't fit that profile. So I think someone else is responsible for Felassan's death.

It will be very interesting if we're able to discover who Felassan's "boss" is.  Likewise, this may not be completely relevant and might sound strange, but on the off chance that Fen'Harel does appear in Inquisition, I would rather try to work with him than fight him if that is possible.  Or alternatively, fight him and then work with him, perhaps? :)  Particularly given some of the stories told of him in The Masked Empire, I see nuance to his character.  Shades of grey rather than black and white.  He's not "good," but I wonder if considering him "evil," as he is often portrayed, is selling him short..?

I don't like the Fen'harel theory on general principle.

Whenever I end up fighting a god in a game, my mindset is almost always "wow, this 'god' is kind of pathetically weak if they can be slain/incredibly incompetent if the can be outwitted by a mortal", not "wow, my pc is uber badass if they can kill a god!"

I don't think that's the impression I'm meant to have, but that doesn't change how I see it.
