Per Fob's suggestion I'll post this in one spot here so nothing gets missed among various PMs.

I know JohnP made time to work some magic for the ending to...not sure if it was MEHEM or the upcoming JohnP version, to dump into the Citadel apartment. Just today I got a question on that functionality on the nexus site.

Is this something I should just include with CEM and/or should it be included as part of MEHEM/alternate MEHEM files as well? I don't know much about installers so I'm not sure if it's easier for one installer or another to include the file.

I also keep trying to think of a way to make ThaneMOD work with CEM but...I'm not sure how to do it. I mean, I suppose someone could swap in the Thane model for Kolyat and rework the entire memorial scene but with the limited dialogue options from Thane in ME2 and 3, is this even possible to pull off? Or maybe just figure out a way to have him in the goodbye scene? I can't offer much other than some audio and maybe a little dialogue work but if people think that's a good idea I wouldn't mind looking into it.

Keeping in mind that I don't have Citadel DLC, so I haven't played it or your mod, as far as I know, it allows you to play the Citadel DLC content after the end of the game. Correct? The whole mission, plus all the apartment and party content, yes?

There should be no complication with the Memorial Scene, Deager. I'm guessing you haven't gotten around to that ThaneMOD PT yet ;)

From our previous PMs over on ME3Exp, my impression was that you hadn't changed any conditionals involving Thane for CEM. If that's the case, everything should work fine, since the Memorial Scene won't trigger. It doesn't with unmodded Citadel DLC, so unless you changed a conditional, then it won't trigger with CEM. That also means that Kolyat is absent for the entirety of the DLC.

Putting Thane back for CEM is something that I would need to discuss in detail with folks on the ThaneMOD forums. It's a big decision. Even after the ending it's complicated because of the new lore established in the emails. Here's why:

Friend-Thane has a different fate than LI-Thane. Friend Thane is nowhere near the Citadel even at the end of the game. He's receiving treatment for his illness on Kahje, getting ready to head to Noveria. His health has improved, but he's certainly not combat ready, and could still die (we allow enough room for players to headcanon as they wish). While he expresses his desire to rejoin Shepard (to help fight the Reapers) in his final email, I'm not sure he would feel the need to rejoin Shepard for a party. We also really don't have dialogue appropriate for him for that situation, and I'm not a fan of implementing things into a mod that feel "forced."

LI Thane is different. He "joins" Shepard aboard the Normandy sometime after Horizon. And, one of the things on the list for v2.0 is to actually place him there and give him a romance scene. This, of course, may or may not be possible. We haven't started looking into it hardcore yet; we've just started talking about it. However, because of this, I wouldn't want you dipping into any of Thane's dialogue for CEM. If we can create this scene for v2.0 (likely working off of Garrus or Sam's scene or something; parts of Kaidan's would be really nice), we're going to need as much dialogue as we can get our hands on. And, because I've already used Thane's best dialogue for Huerta, I might even need to re-tweak that.

So, I guess for now, I appreciate the offer, but it's not the right time to pursue it. It may or may not be something we can look into (if you are still willing) once development is further along on TMv2.0. Should know more in a couple months...I hope.

What's funny is, I got ThaneMOD and then I decided, "Naw. I won't go back. I'll just fire this up on my next trilogy run," which I just got to ME3 on Friday and haven't done much. If I went too far this time I'm definitely going back to check it out because I really want to see how this plays out.

So, the good news is, there may be nothing to do. I am sort of trying to tie up loose ends since I'm getting a little burned out with modding and need to stop or at least take a break. But I also want to help with anything that others may want to do in relation with CEM or, in the case of JohnP's new mod, I just had an idea and wanted to do the slog through audio files to see if it would help his mod.

Yep, I understand the burn out. I took a lot more on after we lost HJF4 and had to learn things I wasn't expecting. TM v1.0 never would have happened without WV, Fob, and JohnP, but I still had to dump every second of my time into the mod from last August through the end of January. It was like running a marathon. Reminded me a bit of grad school days, lol.

Which is why I needed some time after release to not work on things so hardcore for a few months. I've still been doing plenty, but not nearly the rate I had been. Much more sustainable, and now I feel more prepared to take on v2.0 and likely learn how to do more new things....as long as they don't require hex, LOL.

Anyhoo, play with ThaneMOD, play without it, it's totally up to you. I certainly don't begruge you or anyone else for not playing with it. Everyone has their own preferences :)

And, I'll definitely shoot you a PM or post here once I things start to move along on v2.0 and I know more. Have to get v1.1 out first though! This will be very soon. Couple of weeks, I hope. Ottemis is wrapping up some textures for us, wewt.

Oh, I'll be trying it. Of course, I went to install it last night and then realized I never picked up Thane in ME2 this time 'round because I was playing from the standpoint of "What would someone really do at a given time based on the information" and since the IFF was ready to go it was time to stop the Collectors. Trilogy run #9 it will be!

Hi all. With JohnP looking pretty close to done or done already and me actually getting very close to done with testing, I figured I'd ask Wavion, JohnP, and Fob here which mod they think should have the files to allow MEHEM/JohnP to go to CEM?

For the manual install I'll just include the files as that's easy. But for any installer that might be made...I don't know if either option is easier than another for you Wavion or if it's going to be a serious headache and too much to implement.

My only hitch is something with how someone using the Lite version would get into the Citadel DLC. I just stumbled on to a way. I may open another thread here. I know this is MEHEM but really, everything seems to relate to MEHEM one way or another now. :)

I think it's best to implement it with CEM. It would be cool if CEM. The user would have to choose during the install process which version they need. Or maybe and ideally it can be read out by the installer automatically, not sure. MEHEM has a registry entry, which is an integer, I think. It would be easy to change that integer, according to which MEHEM is installed (i.e. v0.4 original, JohnP's additional LIs, JAM or ThaneMOD). This could then be read out by the CEM installer and it will use the correct files.

That's just my guess anyway. Ultimately, it's up to whoever is going to the one, makeing the installer. Is that wavion?

Also, Deager, if you make the version for the original v0.4 MEHEM, could you use the memorial file that is in the NG+ fix archive for MEHEM v0.4? See here for the NG+ fix download:

http://www.nexusmods...es/?id=66&pUp=1

That way, people will automatically have NG+ capability when using the CEM direct transfer (for which by the way I propose the name Citadel Happy Epilogue Mod Immediate Scene Transfer ... or CHEMIST :) ).

I agree with you on where the installer should be. I hope Wavion can make one for me again and this isn't too complicated. But it sounds like it might be doable.

Thanks for the tip on the NG+ fix. I had forgotten/didn't know you had posted it. I have a feeling this will be a late night as I try to get a new thing going with the ending.

EDIT: Question. Is the NG+ save affected by memorial blue for non-LI or non-present LI endings? Just want to be sure.

Also, heh. CHEMIST.
