Ok so 4 hours ago i buy MassEffect under the impression im gonna play it soon i install it and try to run it and gives me the "Mass Effect stopped working from an unexpected error" nonsense and i reinstalled the game 3 times and still the same thing my PC Specs fit the Requirements:
Mobo:XFX G31i
GPU:Nvidia GeForce 9600 GT @ 1.333ghz cache and 1gb VRAM 256 bit
CPU:2.5ghz Core 2 Quad
RAM:4gb
OS:Windows XP Service Pack 3

can someone please help me ASAP i really want to play this game as i have seen many reviews on it
are there any known errors that conflict with my specs or patches that fix this?

I'm afraid tech support won't be officially available until the game is released jan 26th.

what are you talking about? mass effect was reased like 3 years ago.

OP: your specs look fine to run the game, did you buy retail or steam?

have you tried doing google serches on the problem? if that does not give you a solution, you might need to contact EA support, or steam support if you puchased it there

Did you get the latest patch? I know this error occurs on Win7 if you haven't updated it. It shouldn't on XP, but its Windows, so it doesn't care whether it should work or not ~~

I said MassEffect meaning MassEffect 1 and im running WinXP and its a retail copy(Original)
many google results come up but only for Vista compatibility issues.

well you can't really say mass effect anymore.

Mass effect means the triology.



While ME1/ME2 etc. means that part of the triology or everyone will just end up confused



not that i know much about ME1 on pc since im an xbox player, but have you patched and all of that crap?

Ryu thats Patch 2 lol but number 1 is 35mb's and wat u mean trilogy all i see is ME1 and ME2 wats the other?

Run as administrator and in XP compatible mode.

As far as i know, it's not necessary to load the first before the latest patch. Whatever, i hope you get it to work properly.

My mind has been a jumbled mess these past few days with all exams and mass effect 2 coming out in 4 days.

Oh i just got it to work just ran the game directly from the folder and not the launcher and it worked so thanx to every1 bye for now
