When do we learn that Cerberus was responsible for the thresher maw attack on Akuze? I just finished "Dead Scientists" (Shep convinced Toombs to let her shoot the scientist) and there was no mention of Cerberus. I also did the "Hades Dogs" quest and some other quest where you can sell intel on Cerberus to the SB. So far I have not seen anyone state that Cerberus was involved with Akuze. Did I take the wrong dialogue path when talking to Toombs?

One of the video terminals at the Cerberus HQ confirms their involvement in Akuze.

 

I don't know if Toombs skips over the mention of Cerberus with certain options, but I picked the bottom option "They let your team die", after asking him what happened, and he suggested they were behind it.

My main Shep is a sole survivor and wouldve liked to have made peace with Toombs in ME3, talked him around. I feel sorry for him, Cerberus put his through hell.

Yeah, I think Cerberus is only mentioned in "Dead Scientists" if Shepard was on Akuze (i.e. Sole Survivor).

Is Cerberus mentioned in one of the investigate options? I think I might have skipped those this time.

Cerberus is mentioned regardless of background. The only difference is that Shepard may recognize him as a sole survivor. Toombs mentions Cerberus to my war hero Shepard. I can't remember the exact line on the dialogue wheel that gets this information, but it's there, since Toombs is accusing the doctor of being a member of the group.

 

I wish I could confront Toombs later in ME2 or 3. Killing him or talking him down would have been a welcome blast from the past.

If you "spare" the Doctor, Cerberus kills him anyways. Do Cerberus the favor, Kill the doctor anyways.

I used to let him live for Toombs' sake, but nowadays I just go on a kill-all-Cerberus kick in ME1. I might just go back and shoot Petrovsky too.

Toombs says the doctor belongs with a group called Cerberus who does those kinds of experiments.

 

In ME2 one of the news announcements is that the doctor begins to testify against the group.
