Well, it won't be me dying all over the place because of playing a Vanguard off-host, so knock yourself out. Literally.

With all seriousness, play whatever you want, as I will keep on playing with Sentinels and everything else that matches my playstyle.

And back to the threat, I will put my metal boxers on. Let's see how you'll counter that now.

Of course, you gotta keep using what you fond fun. But given how new you are, I just thought I could show you why and how playing other stuff can be fun too. Especially vanguards, since you don't like them while I love them.

It doesn't mean you need to agree of course. But who knows, you might find yourself surprised. I know I did that a lot, in this game. Or you might be not, tell me I'm batshit crazy for playing vanguards, and keep enjoying your sentinels

Mine based entirely on which ones I like.  In many cases they are so close that 1,2,3 distinction is trivial.

Feel free to make your demonstration, but I have to tell you beforehand, the affection I have for Sentinels came AFTER I started playing Gold, because for some reason they clicked. I have played with loads of kits, some I liked, some I didn't, some I was an absolute disaster with. The Vanguards fall under that category. Seriously, if you see me play a Vanguard, you'll actually beg me to not do it again, I am that bad. At the same time, I can manage gameplay with Vanguards in the party, especially if I am playing with the Paladin or the Valkyrie. That can be beautiful, as long as they don't leave the damn circle during hacking.

 

And he better not want in, or I'll bash him with the omni-shield.

I went w/ a pure Flamer spam build the first time I built mine. Upon promoting I went Flamerless, and while I love him, I don't actually think skipping Flamer is necessarily the smart way to play, I just got tired of the kwooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooosh. And he's a tanky Geth even w/ HM as a Flamerless weapons platform, so I didn't have any issues. 

 

Having said that, I'm going to be promoting soon        so.... How would you build your hybrid GT?

Hybrid Geth Trooper with Javelin build:
 

 

Flamer: Reach - Damage - Armor Damage

Fortification: Durability - Power Synergy

Hunter Mode: Power Recharge - Power Damage - Damage

Networked AI: Weapon Damage- Headshots - Weapon Damage

Fitness: First Three Ranks

 

 

With this build, the Flamer comes back pretty fast. And it serves more as a defensive tool, rather than the main source of damage. The Javelin and his Flamer synergize pretty well, actually. The Operative Package seems like it's made for this build.

By hybrid I meant a combo like these:

 

1. Javelin GT (with phasic, this build can OSK most gold infantry with a bodyshot, some may need a headshot). Flamer for skipping reload animation or reload-hiding or reload-cheating or whatever.

2. Claymore GT (very similar to javelin GT but a bit more close ranged. Accuracy boost from hunter mode helps claymore. Flamer for reload hiding. Use incendiary ammo for cheese)

3. PPR GT (Use weapon predominantly. Flamer can be used when PPR ammo is recharging)

 

Open to experimentation tbh. Several other combos are viable too. An example of such a build (javelin+flamer) can be seen in one of Deerber's solo attempts here.

 

Build can be something like 6/5/6/6/3 with 5 in fortification and 3 in fitness or 5/6/6/6/3 with 5 in flamer. Or you can go no-fitness.

I like something like this, cause I think it's cool and gethy there wields a typhoon in its portrait, but any weapon you like that takes advantage of hunter mode can be used in its place. The shield damage evo is cool too, whatever sinks your battleship. Pulse, mow down, pulse, repeat till all things die. Flamz is mostly to prime things for your team (hence why I put 6 into it) and incendiary cheese if you so desire.

Not even a semihipster BTW. All three builds are well known and are almost min/max. All 3 can kill things faster than lolcolyte-flamer spam, but require much more investments in gameplay.

Even though I mentioned weapon+flamer hybrid builds, I do something different now (got bored of weapon+flamer hybrid too lol).

 

I now use a flamer+melee hybrid.
