I never said he was. And well; that depends on your perspective anyway. Doesn't Mass Relays give its users control over dimensions of time and space to travel throughout the Galaxy almost instantaneously? Aren't the Reapers really akin to Gallifrayans or Daleks who lorded over Time in Doctor Who? In the Synthesis and Control endings, didn't Shepard evolve into an ultimate sort of Time Lord or God like Consciousness. There is much more borrowed lore from other canons here than you think in the Mass Effect Story. As I stated on other parts of this forum. Many people think ME borrowed heavily from the extraordinary Orson Scott Card script from Advent Rising in ME1. There are no sacred cows here. Just very good game making.

No, there are virtually no parallels to be had from Doctor Who. Mass Relays are nowhere close to the power of the Time Vortex or Temporal Domain that the Time Lords hold. I have no idea where the ideal for synthesis or control led to the capability of a Time Lord came from here. And yes, there is plenty of borrowed ideas (not lore, otherwise, this wouldn't be ME but the franchise it 'borrowed' from.)

Having read Advent Rising, I see some similarities, but nothing that suggests heavy inflection from that book to this series. I'm just seeing a post that is like the very meta posts by some of the more... disconnected posters on here. And it's certainly not what I'd call good game making. I personally believe Mac Walters should have been fired. In fact, if it were any other company, he would have been fired.

Bioware in response to your calls for a firing of their writers:

Hey man. It was you who introduced all of the Doctor Who dialogue. No one said they really believed it was any real source of ME inspiration. You believe what you want to believe. And others are free to do likewise. I personally don't view them as disconnected. And I resent your inference regarding my and others opinions on that particular pov. I don't get your personal animus toward Walters at all. Bioware obviously thought he did a good enough job. And feel they need him. If you don't think ME is good game making. Why are you even bothering to comment about it in Bioware's forum? Your comments suggest you are just being obtuse & contrarian about stuff that is nothing but "make believe" anyway. And you're taking it way too personal by suggesting someone be fired just because you didn't like their work. A lot of other people actually liked it.

I didn't introduce any Doctor Who dialogue. I commented on your statement and drew a comparison to Doctor Who via the nature of your statement, promptly stating that it wasn't Doctor Who. You've drawn this now into a red herring argument. I know BW thought that he did a good job and feel that they need Mac Walters. Which, in my opinion is telling about the state of their system. I think they're fools for it.

As for why I'm here? Simple; this is a site for feedback. I'm giving my feedback. I'm not being a hater going "ROFLCOPTER BIOWEREZ SUKZ DONKEY BALLZ LOL!" I'm being direct and frank with my feedback; I don't see a need or a reason to sugar-coat it. I don't need to tell my opinion of what they did right. I'm just here to say what I, as a fan and as a consumer, thought they did wrong on, and what I think their problem is. And I'll tell you what I think is the single biggest source of many of their problems: Mac Walters.

I don't know where or why you're getting the obtuse and contrarian idea from: If I were being obtuse, I'd be saying what I said I wasn't saying above. If I were being

contrarian, I'd be disagreeing with you on everything just to disagree. I'm not doing that. I don't know (or care) what your opinions on many of these things are. I'm giving my reasons for why I dislike them and think your opinion is an invalid one (which I'm free to express, as you've done with mine).

A lot of people didn't like it though either. I personally have trouble seeing the perspective that those who did like it hold or view as conceptually sound, but I won't begrudge them their opinion for it (unless they're the ones who get heavy-handed on how I didn't understand the ending, because if I understood the ending, I'd be kissing the ground that BW walked on for their almighty and glorious genius that they've blessed we lesser mortals with in their infinite mercy and graciousness.)

Yes, I thought the ending was crap. Yes, I thought Mass Effect 3 as a whole was largely crap. Looking back, my awareness of the flaws of the entire trilogy has become more pronounced as I gain more clarity and introspection on BW's work. And I think BW as a whole has markedly gone downhill from what they used to be. And I feel that, as long as I express it without being unduly angry or insulting, I'm not doing anything wrong. If you have a problem with that, I suggest you deal with it.

@massivelyeffective0730:

 Okay. I get it. You think GW is crap. ME was crap game making. And the endings sucked big time. And Oh yeah; Bioware is on a downward spiral in your opinion. Can we then assume by that spool of logic, that you have no interest at all in buying ME4? Especially since all of those constants are still in place for the next installment. And if you do, how is that not just being obtuse? If I felt that way about a company and product I wouldn't touch anything they made or even bother giving them feedback. I wouldn't care. But hey; that's just me. I loved Mass Efects. I was fine with the endings. And I think the entire trilogy was inspired game making. I hope Walters, Hudson and the ME team reach even farther in the next installment. But that's just my opinion. We'll all find out how many people didn't like ME when the new game hits. If it was a lot of their base, then it should be reflected in poor early sales. But I sure wouldn't bet on that happening.

And bringing up your own completely disconnected (itself) subject like Doctor Who in dialogue, is indeed introducing new dialogue. Right up there with the dismissive tone toward other peoples opinions. You obviously just didn't expect any blowback. But suit yourself. I don't have any problem at all with you or anything you said. It's just your opinion. And it's not all hanging together like you think it is IMO. And that is pretty much the extent to which I will "deal with it".
