I know that when you are importing a ME1 character into ME2 it lets you see what choices you made and such. Will it tell you what the default choices are if you start a brand new ME2 game? Reason I ask is I'm wondering if I need to replay the game to get the "good side" of the story. I replayed the game recently to do the "bad side" but lost my good side character and don't want to reply it again if that is the default story for the game. Hope that makes sense lol.

I think you will find you need to do the 'good' side again if you want the Council alive and not human dominated.

Yes, it will tell you what the default canon choices are in a new game, so if you dont like em, better import the ME1 character with the choices you want.
