I saw a video video on Youtube the other day of a group doing U/U/P with level one characters and common weapons and wanted to give it a try so today when I had a full group of friends we tried it. We jumped right into Platinum without ever trying it on an easier setting and I have to say I was impressed with how we did, even with no practice or preparation we made it to wave 9 before we wiped. We got Collectors on London and while it was hell at times I loved the challenge. Not sure if we'll do Platinum again without some practice on Gold first but I'm still happy with how we did on our first try.

I think OP meant level 1 characters and common weapons at X. Very weak combos if any at all.
However I think it's doable with high level gear and consumables (incendiary especially). And the Mantis is really not that bad.

How? With level 1 characters you are only going to get level 1 biotic explosions.

It's not easy, it probably would have been easier with more than one biotic or if one or two of us had taken the Mantis but it was still fun. The only reasons we did so well is we play together a lot and all used characters we're really good with. Listening to the best player in our group complain about cloak only lasting 4 seconds made it all worth it.

Yeah, I don't get it either but it's how he likes to play Infiltrators. I do it with some of them but I go with damage most of the time.

I like it for the Shadow. Even with duration and bonus power you can get shadow strike up to insane amounts of damage.
