I've come on here to say my piece.

 

I don't know how it's happened - maybe I'm a sucker for the marketing - but I find myself looking forward to Dragon Age Inquisition (DAI). This after I swore off BW games after the rubbish that was DAII and SWTOR.

 

Please... please just be good. Please be a return to form. Please be a much needed reminder that BW isn't dead.

 

This is the last chance - if Inquisition is a failure that will be it - no more good will.

 

I can't count the number of gamers I've heard say the say thing.

If DAI does flop, I doubt EA will give Bioware a third chance...and the DA franchise would be finished. So no, I hope it doesn't suck either.

I don't think any of BW's games "flopped" in the monetary sense. I don't think they're on their "second chance" with DA:I.

Not expecting this thread to generate much support from the diehards here on the forums. That would be silly.

 

The feedback is for BW, not for the fanboys and girls who will loudly cheer and declare their undying love no matter what crap is released.

 

That said, I sincerely hope DAI is a return to form - I remember when BW games were magic. And I loved DA1.

 

There's tons of gamers not on these forums - and they are the ones who will dictate whether DAI will be a success or not, as opposed to the posters here with 1000+ posts who are likely to be, lets face it, somewhat invested and biased.

I don't think any of BW's games "flopped" in the monetary sense. I don't think they're on their "second chance" with DA:I.

What you gave was not feedback. "Please don't suck" is not feedback. Feedback actually requires a reaction or response to a particular material. What you gave was a meaningless plea. I'm sure BioWare never intended to "suck" as you so adroitly put it. Or maybe I'm wrong. Maybe this thread will be useful. I'm sure they'll look upon this thread and holler out to each other,  "Hey, everyone, I just got word that we shouldn't suck this time or our good will be spent." And they'll all look around at each other, stunned, as it never occurred to them before to make a good game.

No I understand that there were problems with DA2. Despite what everyone thinks I think. I believe DA2 was good that's it; which for BioWare is a low for them.

 

If BioWare brings out crap I'll respectfully bring that up with them and not in an aggressive and dismissive manner.

Not a fanboy or a BioDrone or any of the other delightful comments people sling at me for daring to enjoy a game. I've actually given BioWare at least a thousand more words of DETAILED criticism than you posted here in this thread. It was just, you know, useful. As in I explained specifically what I disliked, why I disliked it, and suggested things I would have preferred instead.

One persons horrible worse game ever is another persons best game ever. What's bad to one person is not important to another person when it comes to gaming/in general. Flaws to one person is unimportant to another. Some people loved DAO but hated DAII, some people love DAII but loathed DAO, then there's people who liked both with justifiable reasons. 

 

So just saying "please don't suck" doesn't really describe what could make the game not 'suck'.

Yeah, I mean, if everything was riding on this one game, and it was Bioware's "last chance" for realsies, then would they seriously be working on ME4 and an as-yet unnamed new IP? Would they be producing supplementary materials like World of Thedas and the various novels that are pretty much only of interest to established fans?

 

Everything they're doing suggests to me that they anticipate success with Inquisition and that, even if it flops, they'll keep working.

Well they did get a extra year, that's surprising... considering how EA rushed DA2 and BF4 into releasing early. So yeah, DAI is given a second chance to redeem itself.

No offence but you have come to the wrong forum .  We are the fans of the DA franchise or we wouldn`t be posting here .

And I still say that, considering they're releasing new supplementary materials, that's unlikely.

 

Novels are not cheap or easy to produce. It's not at all likely that they would be investing that sort of effort if the entire franchise was on the chopping block.

Actually it's more that "please don't suck" is a pretty ineffective way to give feedback.
