Meh. I only use them on the Javelin. Every ammo type besides Cryo and Explosive is more useful.

I don't understand these absolute statements about ammo. Each of them (the useful ones) have their uses... I love AP ammo, but I also love warp ammo, phasic ammo, disruptor ammo, incendiary ammo, and drill ammo. Are you guys using hyperboles and is my "exaggeration to be fun" receptor broken, or do you really mean?

Typhoon with EM+HVB and Phasics is interesting against Geth and Cerberus.

It's more like an 'if I could only have one' statement. AP ammo allows for the extended barrel/extended clip combo +double hits.. which I covet.

I use phasics only on javelin, widow or occasionally, BW. That's pretty much it. 

 

Warp, AP, incendiary, disruptor and drill are significantly more useful than phasics IMO.

Is there any way to bring shields down fast than a powerful or fast firing weapon with Phasics?

Javelin GI is like 1 hit and Atlas stands there naked.

I only use it for Javelin and Widow. I was considering it for the Executioner too, but never tried.
All in all, I see it as the third least useful ammo type.

Phasic III on an executioner pistol aren't quite good enough to defeat shield-gate on a gold centurion, marauder, or collector captain by itself unfortunately, the gun's base damage (which the ammo's damage is based off) isn't quite high enough.

 

The mantis also has the same problem unless you use it on an infiltrator with the SR damage boost.

 

Doing even a few hundred points of shield damage from a power to the target before firing can be enough to fix this though.
