A little update is required here. I did try to post 2 links but I encountered strange behaviour by this site. Even though I was only trying to post a link to a web page I kept getting an error message that boiled down to it saying I wasn't allowed to post that image type here. As I wasn't trying to post an image directly, I found this strange and eventually gave up. The strangest part is that because I gave up before I posted the message I am even more surprised to see half the message I was trying to post actually made it here! Which is why my previous post seems a bit odd.

Given this month's theme, I thought that this imaginative picture of 6th century Constantinople was rather apt.

Something a little more conventional now. Although I would say that only 2 & 3 are usable and number 1 looks on closer inspection to be more practical than I first thought (with a built-in bottle opener). 5 Swords.

Those swords are all made to break the first time they are used.

Something particular to medieval Europe was a vehicle called a pageant wagon. It consisted of a horse-drawn wagon with sides that could be folded out to form a stage. Here's an example:

In D&D, this could be used by a bardic troupe to travel between towns, putting on shows. I think it could make a nice placeable.

OK, I don't care if this next newly found item inspires or not. Given that a small team of amateurs created this (Just using photoshop, after effects & TVPaint), just wow. An Army of Frogs Trailer.

Though lacking the hand guards rapiers typically have, if you consider them as rapiers instead of swords they might make more sense.

The page at the end of this next link should give inspiration to anyone considering making an exterior tileset.

Well just because Christmas is rapidly approaching, I thought I'd post something different. Instead of just drool, I thought I'd post "And you thought your Christmas sweater was bad...". And it is D&D related so therefore NwN related (yay).

There is so much going on in this first picture. Strictly speaking it's a photo. I am posting it to inspire because of all the texture details in it. Look at the walls and floor for a start. Anyway here is the link to a ruined staircase.

I am posting the second simply for the sky. There is a larger version that you get by pressing the download button on that page. Link to a colourful sky.

It being close to the holidays, I thought you might enjoy some of the work being done in connection to the Blender Guru Christmas Competition, both this year and in previous years.

OK, I admit the thing at the end of this next link isn't strictly speaking NwN related. The fact that it runs in a modern browser is quite impressive though it does mean you need a graphics card with a bit of grunt (not necessarily a modern one though - runs fine on my HD3870 x 2). So here's the link to WebGL Water. Makes me wonder, could a new version of NwN be built using this technology?

I normally give links to single pages but for this site I'll make an exception. I'll only give a link to a page with 100 robots on it but there is so much more to 3dexport than that including free models and tutorials for 3ds max, blender and photoshop. So go take a look.

I have literally just come across some impressive panoramic pictures in the sense that you can alter the view by any angle you choose in any direction you choose. As I was (and still am as I compose this) using Opera v26 I suspect you may need the most up to date version of your browser to view these (of course I may be wrong). On this browser I had fist to click on the image, move the cursor until it changed shape to the standard (NSEW) 5 points arrow and then click and hold the left mouse button to start the rotations.

The first one is entitled "Christmas Village". I definitely suggest you rotate it by 180 degrees horizontally for a festive view. For a Halloween feel there is "Haunted Harvest" complete with a skeleton walking down the path. Finally there is "Approaching Pandora" which gives a space view that wasn't part of (but is inspired by) the movie "Avatar".

As I was writing this I found out (totally by accident) they were made using a tool called "Pano2VR".

The question is "Who is the smarter and Who the wiser?". I have my own opinion of course.

Dang. This is just six weeks too late. Might just have had more (somehow I doubt it) submissions.

Here is a panorama stock image that is a little unusual in that I can see little sign of man (or woman for that matter  :) ) in it. Having a dA account, I have checked what the poster of the image has to say on the matter and AFAICS there would be no problem in turning this into a skybox if they wanted to.

Well there are some worked fields in the foreground and some linear features here and there. You may need to clip to the top half.

This one is different and really only applies to 3D modellers. Do you think your latest creation is really good? Do you have money to burn? DAZ (they have a couple of 3D modelling programs and sell lots of pre-created models) are starting a service to turn your 3D models into 3D printed models... for a price in the near future. Look here.

Hansel and Gretel - Prepare to meet your Baker. Anyone care to model this? Oh and it really makes the name of this thread appropriate.

Now here is something different. Water and ice but not as you know it. Some of these phenomenon would make for a great fey landscape if anyone's interested.
