Hi, just looking for new information regarding the citadel in Mass Effect 2. In my opinion Mass effect just wouldn't be mass effect without the citadel, and it was easily my favourite me 1 location. What i've heard about the citadel in ME2 is quite worrying. Apparently the only old location visitable is Anderson's office, and the the only other stuff you can visit is 5 new floors that all look the same and sell gimmicky items. If so,  this is a real kick in the crotch, I wouldn't have cared at all if I could've maybe seen the old citadel locations again, but if I can't, that sucks. Stupid move on Bioware's part if true, real stupid move. Can anyone confirm/deny if this is true, or any info on if there is more to the citadel?

Why would they waste disc space on a location that was visited plenty in ME1? There will be plenty of other new locations to see and visit

Considering that the Citidel was Attacked and Had alot of damage done too it at the end of ME1.. is it really a surprise that they MIGHT still be rebuilding it?

Yes it would be fun too see the construction site... but not really Needed.

Oh I dunno, maybe because the citadel was an incredible hub, having the potential in two years to change and expand, and for the sense of nostalgia.

I've seen some videos and believe me, you haven't seen ANYTHING of the Citadel

Why are people so intent on posting spoilers without any warning? I think that's a far better question.

How is this a spoiler? Apart from maybe revealing Bioware didn't include as much of the citadel this time. There's nothing plot related here at all.

"I've heard there are 5 floors that look the same and sell gimmicks"

Whether this is true or not, I don't know. Still, even if it's only *slightly spoilerish, some warning would be nice.

Edit - it's only 8 letters...seriously 0_o

And anyway... if you found out the place that always felt safe in was actually one MASSIVE trap too keep you in place... Would you want too keep using it?

I dunno where you've heard that, sounds pretty specific to be some random rumour and I'm sure I don't remember anything like that being mentioned before.

But if it were true, I think that'd be pretty lame. I mean, one of the best things about having the same location in a new game is seeing how it's evolved over time. And besides, it makes no sense, how could the only familiar location be Anderson's office? I mean if you have that, you'd have to have the hallway outside his office, and to have that you'd have to have the Embassies lobby, and from there, the Presidium, or at least a portion of it.

@OP

I think another thing to bear in mind, is who you heard this from. There seem to be quite a few overly-jaded people around throwing rumours left and right. If you heard this from someone such as that, then perhaps you should take it with a pinch of salt. Likewise, if it came from a Gusher, then I'd also recommend the same :D

Simply put; either wait for release, or until BW decide to show us this.

Hmm... just thought of something, if the Citadel is the Mass Relay that leads to dark space why don't they just destroy it? >.> Am I missing something, that's quite possible...

Edite for spoilers:- ME1 Spoilers ahead.

Because it's now defunct. The keepers no longer respond to the reapers, and the only way to access it is by directly via the citadel. Since no-one except the reapers would do this, and all existing reapers are stuck in dark space (or assumed are), it would be a waste to destroy the citadel, which is probably more technologically advanced than anything any race can create, and the cultural heart of the galaxy.

Because it's virtually indestructible, when compared to modern weapons.

It can't be destroyed, nor should it.

Also, I've seen some of Citadel and it's amazing, but I'm SO glad it isn't 'the' hub world like in ME1. Sooo boring.

In the videos recently released by Machinima we can see Shep in Flux. So at least some of the old locations are still in.

I saw a bit of the Citadel on a stream, and I liked what I saw.

Also, I really want to play 'Galaxy of Fantasy' or whatever it was called. :D
