From DAO Morrigan had something for darkspawn to smell to avoid there surprise attacks unless they were smarter and had sensing abilities. Whynn wanted to wash my warhound. Multiple flower smelling quotes sten stopping to smell the roses. With all the possibilities with new armor that SOUND and Smell should play a part. Heavy armor you are going to sweat more and make more sound. Creatures are going to smell and hear you more also. I hope they add more senses into active game play or comments more at least for a good laugh.

OP I think stinky bait and things like that could be useful, but how good/bad a character smells might be a bit difficult to determine. I suppose your followers could have dialogue triggered by certain levels of scent. But I'd personally find it a bit weird if my companions were always commenting on how I smelt.
Yes we should wear dirty underwear and dirty armour so the darkspawn do not know we are coming for them.
Unless Darkspawn are like mosquitoes, who are more likely to bite you if you're dirty. But how will we know which it is?!

Yeah...I think I'd prefer to just imagine everyone smells like pine needles and mint.

Sims-style hygiene bar?
I dunno, what's even the point?
"Oh no, we're so dirty, we have to stop and shower before we can go any further!"

And here I thought the topic was about introducing Smell-O-Vision technology into DA.
It was real -- some early televisions actually had a device for releasing (physical) chemical scents.
Our entertainment experiences (including but not limited to video games) have tended to work only on two senses, audial and visual. With the introduction of various haptic feedback devices, there are interesting experiments in incorporating the sense of touch (and 'virtual' physicality/tangibility).
Very few have strove to incorporate things that engage the olfactory or gustatory senses, since those present obvious logistical problems. ![]()

I was thinking more on the line of Tallis bait trick. Added Lure potions things of that nature. They could be added to archers arrows. I don't think they will get into personal sweating but traps and lure's to have Thedas creatures attack your enemy.

This tiptoes on that line of realism that I don't think would be fun anymore.
I don't want to have to manage hygiene and bladder and hunger, etc.

Trap making? Maybe. DAO really struggled to make it not totally useless and it was a pain in the ass in other party based games because my companions were too stupid to avoid them.
Maybe as some sort of aggro thing that works stronger than taunt or whatever depending on enemy type.
