I'm trying to complete the DLC collection, but they cost just too much. the game has been out for some time now, why there has been no massive sale?

The DLC isn't so much it breaks the bank.

I have every piece of DLC for my Xbox360, The only piece of content I'm missing, not the weapon or appreance packs, is Bring Down the Sky DLC for PC.  I'm quite annoyed I'm unable to get Bring Down the Sky because ME1 is a stand alone copy.  I'd have it if I'd bought the trilogy, but I purchased each game individually.

ME2's DLC is cheaper than ME3's.  Shadow Broker is the most expensive at $10, where all the others are $7.  Or are the prices on PSN more than Origin or Xbox Live?

I think i remember how it all started. I read an interview with Bethesda just before Oblivion's release.

They told "While we're working on expansion packs which sells at about 40 $, our games get old because it is too much work and testing. So instead of making you to wait for at least a year and paying us 40$, we'll implement a new system. You'll pay about 10$ per one DLC and in total it should cost you same as expansion pack while you won't be get bored of our game and have new content once every few months."

Everyone thought it was a great idea then we got a horse armor to the knee.

Multiplayer passes, skin packs, pre-order dlcs, season packs that doesn't include half of stuff(Yeah Saints Row i'm talking to you) Mortal Kombat had pre-release DLC for pre-order, which was i think lowest thing we can see in gaming business. Then Steam tried to sell mods...

They always come up with more greedy stuff that doesn't surprise me anymore.

Worst possible things to happen are Bestbuy exclusive item, Amazon pre-order bonus specific item etc. stuff.

So what i generally suggest people to wait for GOTY, package, special editions etc. But for example Lair of the Shadow Broker and Kasumi Stolen Memory worth every penny. They say same for Citadel aswell, haven't got it yet.

So do your research and get only interesting, highly appreciated ones. And either wait for deal or ignore others.

PS: Not directed to Bioware, it is a problem in industry.

I agree with you. I own all dlc's but they should be way cheaper now. It's not like people are storming banks to get the dlc :P

I'm glad I'm not the only one wondering why this old series is still so damn expensive. The ME1 DLC is included in all Origin versions, but for the other 2 games it's a mess. It's not just the price, but the absolutely convoluted and complicated way it is set up. You cannot buy or even look at the contents and prices of the DLC via Origin and it basically takes a whole Wiki page to explain just what DLC is out there and what it includes. I would be okay with paying something like 15€ for ME2 with the four most important DLCs (Arrival, Shadow Broker, Overlord, Kasumi). Maybe 20. But just the DLC alone is 25. That is a tough pill to swallow, especially if you consider that you are also basically committing to buying ME3 + the DLCs, too, because who would seriously consider stopping playing after 2, right? And the ME3 DLC is by itself as expensive as a digital or used version of a relatively new game. That much for an old game?

The games themselves are about 13€ on Origin if you buy them separately, 20€ if you buy the trilogy. I hope I don't need to understand that logic considering you only get the added bonus of the ME3 deluxe edition (which does not include any story related DLC at all) but I don't really care. ME2 and 3 are just 5€ for the main games. The DLC are 5, respectively 8 times the sale price of their base games.... really???? I know the EA executives are probably rubbing their hands in delight but if anyone at BioWare who hasn't yet given in to the corrupting power of the evil empire is reading this... at least throw us a bone here....

Hmm... I couldv'e sworn I saw the ME3 DLC and Bio points sitting there on Origin. Granted, you gotta do a little quick math to get the price. Can't speak to ME2 since I bought that on disc. Not that I ever tried buying any, since I agree that DLC prices are too high for me.

An independent Bio wouldn't be any more likely than EA to sell its products at less than the profit-maximizing price, would they? The more interesting question is whether the current policy really is profit-maximizing. We know that they're losing sales from people like you and me. The question is whether we're counterbalanced by the people who pay full price now but would wait for the DLC sale if they knew there was going to be one, even if it was years later. I don't think there are very many people in the latter group.

From a financial standpoint, do they need to fix it? I got the games super cheap but I'm spending full price on DLCs. If people like me are willing to spend full price after five years for ME2 and three years for ME3, why bother lowering the prices? I mean, I wouldn't if I were Bioware.

because for one that will spend, there will be 100 who pirate.
