In what regard do you mean final battle in DA2? The way Hawke gave orders to the companions who were not actually in your final party, and these others would go do their own thing during the battle?
Yea

If only Alistair had been a mage lol
Yea
I'd like it if we could maybe encounter a full scale battle, and we could send the companions not in our immediate party out to help our forces tactically. Maybe have Sera lay down a rain of arrows, have Viv and Solas rain down a firestorm or tempest, something along those lines. Maybe have Iron Bull or Grey Warden lead a charge of our warriors and rogues into the fray.
Since there will be times where your keep is being attacked and you have armies protecting it and you and your party is protecting it, will your other companions be out with the armies protecting it as well? That would be cool.

Better than having the unchosen companions sit on their butts
Mage inquisitor (human male or qunari female)
Cassandra
Undecided on the rest. Cullen for sure IF by some miracle he's not an NPC. The rest depending on how cool their personalities are...

I could see something similar to ME2.
You choose companions to lead certain groups of troops, the best suited to the role have the most successful outcome. Or they have to infiltrate a keep, or deal with foreign dignitaries. I'd much prefer that than them being sat around a campfire.

That would be really cool.
I thought I didn't have any preconceived notions about who I'd have in my party. But after lurking threads for too long, I think my party will look like this:
Mage Inquisitor
DHMG (Hopefully the speculation is right and he's indeed Dorian)
Sera
[Rotating spot for whomever I want at the moment]
Varric and the ghost of Bartrand.
Oh the bickering that will grace my battlefield.
Female human mage inquisitor (Spirit Healer / Support) is going to need:
- Tank: Cassandra or Warden
- Mage DPS: Solas
- Rogue: Cole or Varric
I still hope for more ME2 Suicide mission, Citadel DLC, Battle of Denerim, final battle in DA2 type scenarios in these games
It certainly would be cool if at least one mission used the entire party.
Qunari Rogue Quiz.
Cassandra
DHMG if he is a mage, especially if he's a LI
Unsure at the moment who my last person will be.
I definitely want Vivienne in. Everything about her character intrigues me. After reading her letter to the Nevarran ambassador, I just can't wait to see her role in Inquisition and how she interacts with the party. I can imagine there's going to be quite a bit of banter with Varric and Sera, and given Morrigan's association with the Empress, methinks those two will have quite a bit of barbed words for one another when they meet.
As for the others, there's not enough information for me to really decide as far as 'liking' characters go. Cassandra just strikes me as another headstrong female lead poster girl (with a soft spot, much like Bastila), so I'm honestly not all too interested in her. There's not enough information on Solas, Iron Bull, Sera, or anyone else to really warrant whether or not I want them in.
I do want at least 1-2 instances where I have a complete non-human party though.
Mage Inquisitor
Varric
Cassandra
Iron Bull or Grey Warden
Rogue Inquisitor
Cassandra
Varric
Dorian/DHMG
Warrior Inquisitor
Cassandra
Varric
Dorian/DHMG
All this is pending if they make varric like anders in da2... you know a whiny, less funny, and overly dramatic douche.... and the personalities of solas and DHMG... DHMG gets the nod for looks, but if his personality sucks and solas who looks stupid has a phenomenal personality, then solas will get the nod
All this assumes my current information is correct, so it could be and probably is wrong.
Female Qunari Inquisitor as an Axe-Shield(Preferably) Tank.
Dorian/DHMG Support/Heal Mage
Varric as DPS Ranged Attack
Last slot, I have no idea. It's going to be determined by personality more than practicality.
From what I've heard, Iron Bull will probably be here, but I don't know anything about the other two rogues, or the Grey Warden.
F!Inquisitor (elf or qunari), Solas, Sera and Cole/"Cole" are gonna be kickin ass and takin names..
My first playthrough is going to be a mage, so I really want to make a run with Iron Bull, Varric and Sera.
Though I would also really like to use Varric + Cassandra simply for the sake of experiencing the "default" team.
I'm going to screw myself over on my first playthrough, since I really want to take DHMG, Solas and Vivienne with my mage Inquisitor.
Perhaps I will rotate the party instead, or put one/two of the others instead of all mages.
I'm going for:
Main Inquisitor: Lady elf mage or rogue, deadpan and a bit of a thug. Otherwise taking her duty seriously. (DPS)
Solas: I'm guessing he's going to be a voice of reason, so I want him in the party to balance out the other two. (Support/DPS)
Iron Bull: Obviously gonna bro it up with this guy. (Two-handed DPS/meat shield) I'll possibly switch him out with Cole and the last member with the Warden to balance the party out.
last member is a tie between Sera or Varric, depending on which one my inquisitor gets along with better. Likely Varric since he seems like he'd be the more mature out of the two, which would be nice to balance out party banter.
For my second playthrough I'll be a warrior or a mage and switch all of them out interchangeably. Qunari for sure.
