I must be a Dragon Age horndog or something because I think almost all of them are hot in their own ways.  To frame these answers, I consider myself a straight female and I've only accidentally romanced a lady LI before (though I have plans for Cass for sure).  I appreciate the variety and uniqueness each character presents, thank you Bioware

Cass 10/10: No-nonsense badass with intense eyes and aggressive attractiveness.
Cullen 10/10: Well-groomed 30-something with conviction and a sense of duty.  ++ if his ramen hair is of the Creamy Chicken variety.
DHMG 9/10: Dark hair, interesting facial hair, awesome outfit, plus he might be an outcast Tevinter magister.  Would kill for a sexy dark haired LI.
Solas 9/10: Quirky looking Fade expert with gorgeous cheekbones.  Intelligence and mystery are sexy.
Vivienne 8/10: Imposing yet physically stunning.  Would be higher based on looks alone but she scares me a little.
Iron Bull 8/10: Scars, muscles, horns, humor.  Not my usual cup of tea but I can appreciate it.
Beardy 8/10: Big guy with life experience and a beard, 'nough said.  Minus points for looking like my dad.
Sera 6/10: Haven't seen enough yet but initially turned off by the "bratty" description.  Instant little sister vibe.
Varric 5/10: Physically higher, but whatever he's got going on with Bianca makes him feel unavailable and unappealing.

Cole ?/10: Haven't read Asunder so no clue.

My opinions as a straight man. My judgement of the male characters may be off as I don't normally rate men, but I think I was reasonably fair:-

 

Cass 8/10: A major improvement in appearance between DA2 and Inquisition, she is strong and aggressive as well as a badass.

Vivienne 9.5/10: My favourite lady companion to be revealed so far, she is stunning, though sadly I am of the opinion that she won't be an LI.

Sera 4/10: Haven't seen enough about her to form an opinion on her, but "bratty" isn't something that I would call attractive.

Scribe-girl 9/10: Only concept art to judge by, but she is very attractive.

 

Cullen :Appearance wise I would say maybe 7-8/10 he is pretty attractive physically, but personality wise I would give him a generous 3/10, I don't understand why people would be attracted to him, he has the personality of a sponge IMO, no offence to Cullen fans, I just don't get it.
DHMG 8/10: The best looking of the male companions if he is one, though there is very little else to judge on aside from concept art.
Solas 4/10: Not enough information on him, appearance wise nothing special.
Iron Bull 6-7/10: Not too sure how to judge him but I could see why people like him, he sounds like he will be quite the character.
Bearded Warden 7/10: Seems cool, I like the inclusion of more mature characters, seems to be reasonably attractive(no good in-game screenshots of him).
Varric 6/10 attractiveness, 10/10 bro-ttractivness, I can see the appeal but more of a bro than LI IMO.

 

Cole N/A I don't think he should be included in peoples lists as he is a child where it counts, his mind.

The DA:I version of her face is kind of masculine.

 

Is there anything objectively wrong with that? Of course not, but attractiveness (or lack of it) is entirely subjective.

I guess it depends on personal taste.

 

I myself found women with strong features are really sexy (oddly enough, soft, feminine women tend to disappear into background in my eyes lol). Like Olivia Wilde for instance. She rank pretty high in my book of hotness, but some of my friends don't like her at all lol

Is being attractive really what makes a good LI? or is it their personality and story arc? I feel its the latter.

 

Attractiveness is subjective anyway. I thought Isabela was attractive in DA:2 but there are tons of mods out there that make her white   

 

I hate that these sorts of lists exist for people in real life and if we want people to stop rating real life people then we shouldn't be doing the same to companions in a game.

Cassandra = 1 (She looks like a man and not even a good looking man, I hope she has an awesome personality because she must have hit every branch on ugly tree on the way down)

Varric = 5 (don't really know I guess he looks ok)

Vivienne = 7 (at least she looks like a woman)

Cullen = 5 (same as Varric he is a douche though)

Solas = 5 (same as Varric)

Sera = 6 (at least she looks like a woman)

Look man, taste is subjective. I can say Cassandra's hideous manjaw scares me and I should be allowed to say it, yah know? Kinda vain of me but I'm okay with that. Twould only be a problem if I somehow discriminated against Lady Manjaw in some fashion or demanded that the devs sexify her so she matches my male ideal of the warrior woman or whatever. But I won't do that. Because while I find her unattractive it doesn't really mean anything. She can be unattractive and I can find her unattractive and I can say she's unattractive (to me) and it's all okay.

 

Kinda off-topic question but I've seen a coupla straight people in this thread mention that they can't rate people of the same sex because they're straight. I find this curious. There's a difference between an "objective" measurement of someone's attractiveness and actually being attracted to them, isn't there?

Well as straight male I can say when I think a guy is very good looking, take Brad Pitt for instance that is one good looking dude. But unless a guy is up there in the beautiful people category he's just another guy, I can't really rate him.

I'm a big ass s**t and I can't deny it, I'll have em all. No, not really. I'll probably end up accidentally romancing someone and then panic. I practically hid under the table the first time that happened, cursing... After hitting esc repeatedly hoping it would magically make it disappear.

Well as a straight male, I have no problems judging the attractiveness of other men. In my head, when I measure how attractive a guy is, I normally go with sth like "Man he's hot. Wish I were like him." so yeah, hotness judgement doesn't need to be always in sexual way.

 

Anyhow, I'm guessing I have different taste than most people since I always favor the ones with strong features (both male and female). Say, I always think those Korean pop star, or Jonas Bros, 1D or Justin Bieber to be freakin gay as hell. But a lot of girls found them attractive. In my book, Hugh Jackman, Brad Pitt, or Johnny Depp can beat those sissy asses anyday lol

Seeing as how she doesn't exist I don't think she'll mind much really. Everyone has an opinion, everyone should have the right to express that opinion. If some people express these opinions somewhat crassly feel free to make inferences about them based on that but saying that they shouldn't be expressed because they hurt your sensibilities/a character's self esteem is just wrong.
