But the Ashley/Kaidan fans...I don't think they would have been very happy. They were portrayed more incompetent than in the actual games (VS-wants-to-kill-Prothy-and-works-with-Kai-Leng).

Joker: "I wouldn't want to get drunk and pull a gun on Shepard to defend Udina. Oh, wait. You did that sober."

Indeed. And the only thing worse than siding with Udina is siding with Kai Leng ;)

Shepard may whine about Earth. but he/she is the one doing all the leg work to get everyone united. And had the Asari revealed the artifact earlier, its possible the fleets would not of gone to Earth.

There is the line about the location of the catalyst only being revealed once the crucible is complete, though.

They can always hack it like Cerberus did.

But the crucible was complete at that time. I just want to point this out.

We still could've got Vendetta without Cerberus taking it had we got to Thessia earlier, have the Crucilbe built without Cerberus knowing the Catalyst is the Citadel and taken the Crucible to the Citadel in the Serpeat Nebula instead of Sol system.

Can't tell me Javik never ever once hacked his way past a security system back in his cycle. Of course it was probably punishable by death so who knows.

It does have good logistical value. It's the center of the Galactic economy and one of its primary sources of eezo. Any resources that can be pulled off their to assist with the crucible would be very useful.

Because Shepard spending the entire game trying to get the other races to send their fleets to the Sol System is stupid. Thessia is described as a "vital military asset" in the N7 minigame. Thessia ensures that the galaxy's supply of eezo is maintained during the war. Both Palaven and Thessia had greater strategic significance than Earth.

Sure, Thessia is an important asset, but not important enough to divert entire fleets that are needed elsewhere to its defense. If the Reapers have already beaten the planet's defensive fleets and forces, then it's too late anyway.

I also think that gathering fleets to retake Earth is stupid, but it at least makes sense when the Reapers(for whatever reason) take the Citadel to Earth.

The fleets aren't needed elsewhere, though. At least as far as they know.

I don't think I would have liked the leaked script, there isn't enough A/K content. However, I would have liked the choice between A/K and Liara, if only because I could finally be rid of the blue monstrosity.

However, I get a strange feeling that it'll come with everyone guilt tripping about how I should have saved her instead, while a save Liara choice would make everyone happy Liara's still around. Mary Sue at work, kinda like how Eve talks about Wrex being reasonable if Wreav is the krogan leader.

For me, I would say Kaiden is my Love interest and I'm like screw Liara I would save Kaiden. Just so I wouldn't have her stocking me...

With the old Thessia choice in place I could finally put ME3 Ashley to use.

With shepard's luck? nope.

Because... Earth. Humans are special.

Funny thing is that had the plan to assemble the Crucible gone off without a hitch, and Cerberus failed to relieve Shepard of Vendetta, the plan to focus efforts to Earth would have been abandoned, and the Crucible would have been fired without ever gathering anyone anywhere. The entire fleet would probably have just parked itself in the Widow nebula.

I guess retake Earth is an OK marketing bit, but that should have been left as a snag in the plot.

Funny to think how the star brat would react to finding a very large group in its chamber. The Council, all the military leaddership, everyone.

I wonder what would happen if you had someone jump into the beam and someone else shoot the tube at the same time.

A long drop and a sudden stop?

Which raises the interesting question of shouldn't glowboy know every single plan discussed by the council?
And have access to all the data etc stored on the citadel.

Interesting point, but I look at it like, he's been there for millions of years and seen thousands of civilizations come and go without really affecting anything. I don't think he really cares what organics get up to, at least until he talks to shep.

I always wondered how this would work. Without the beam they couldn't get into the Keeper tunnels and since they couldn't get in there after a few thousand years, I doubt they would find a way within a few months (or however long of a time span they had). Meaning they probably couldn't have fired the thing, unless they could end up shooting in from the Council tower.

Which is a little ironic, because moving it to Earth to protect the thing would have led to the only scenario where the Citadel could be used against the Reapers.

They could just take a shuttle to the point where the crucible and the Citadel meet.

That would send glow boy in civic unrest if he saw the Geth working with Organics...
