I've been wondering... since there are seven Old Gods in total and five have been defeated during the Blights, what would happen if the last two were awakened and tainted by the darkspawn at the same time?

 

It is likely that they would destroy the world, but I'm thinking about the how.  Would they work together, compete for dominance, or ignore each other completely?  And what of the 'awakened' darkspawn?  There are bound to be plenty of them left after the events in DA:A, so what would they do in response to two archdemons showing up?  What if there was another Corypheus?  Ooh, so many questions and so many scenarios...

 

What do you guys think?

It probably wouldn't make a whit of difference, since the rate of darkspawn replication seems to depend on the number of brood mothers and not on the number of arch demons. Whether an extra arch demon would increase the enthusiasm for brood mother 'recruitment' is anybody's guess. In extremis, you'd need only one extra Tom, Dick or Harry for detonating the extra darkspawn führer.

The title does have a familiar cadence, but it's getting close to midnight here and my brain has probably started to shut down already.

I think you should write fanfiction.

 

Also, I think the last two Archdemons are pretty hard to reach. it's going to take a lot for the darkspawn to get to them.

I do write fanfiction, actually.     Mostly DA fanfics, though, because I find ME kind of boring now.

I'm with Darth. I'm not exactly a lore geek, but I have done umpteen playthroughs and the impression I always get is that Archdemons merely unify and focus the Darkspawn. As though Darkspawn are ever-present, but too mindless and chaotic to pose too much of a threat normally.
