I wonder if there are any plans for the OGB. If it's important in some bigger plan that may or may not exist, then why leave it up to the player? I wonder how far this was planned ahead. Maybe it really comes down to numbers in the end.

I think that OGB can exists even if you didn't do the ritual. Morrigan just had plan B. But if you did the ritual then Morrigan will call it him so OGB is a boy and I think OGB is most likely to be human. Because we can choose our gender and race in DAI then I don't see that the protagonist is OGB. And I'm not sure how old OGB is in DAI. I don't think he will be 20 - 40 which I think is the age which you are suppose to be in DAI.
If you don't let Morrigan do the ritual, then the Warden or Alistair or Loghain die in the end, because the soul of the archdemon enters them and destroys both of them. That's what we've been told. That's the choice we could make. Any way of Morrigan getting the OGB without the dark ritual would be a retcon and I dare say that's how fans would see it.
Anyway, the OGB being the Inquisitor was just an example of what people can think. I certainly don't think so.

Yeah, I just can't see how OGB can be a significant character in the future without a big retcon. There are just too many variables: He can exist from player choice or not. He can be a human, half-elf, or half-dwarf. His father can be the Warden, Alistair, or Loghain. I'm interested to see if we can get more information about him in DA: I to get a hint on where they might be going with his story.

I see that there is a great potential in OGB. I'm not sure have they planned it or not but I think it exists nevertheless. Maybe the decision about the ritual was left to the player because it had impact on the final battle. It can also have impact on the world later if OGB is seen. I see that there are some decisions in a game that you can make but some events happens anyway.

I disagree. There could be some other ritual which Morrigan can do to get the OGB. Maybe it's more dangerous and she wants to do the dark ritual instead of that other ritual. But when she doesn't have other options then she will do the dangerous one. I think that OGB's father doesn't matter because OGB could be a shapeshifter so we could see him as a dragon instead of any other form or depending of the father he looks different. There are options which I don't see conflicting anything that is told to us before.

While the OGB isn't happening unless the player chose to go that route, I do think Bioware had options *if* they had elected to make the OGB canon in all playthroughs.
They could have had Morrigan sneak off and seduce Riordan. Because he is a senior Warden with an advanced stage of the taint however, he is far from being the ideal candidate and the ritual partly fails. It succeeds in producing a child by fails to save the life of the Warden killing the archdemon. Instead of capturing the entirety of the soul of the archdemon as well, it only captures a shard. Riordan's OGB would be weaker than a PC-Warden or Alistair OGB.

Sorry if this has been said here already, but this was what David Gaider had to say when people implied Morrigan found a way to have the OGB if you didn't do the Dark Ritual.
I'm not sure where the "but even if they refuse, the other Grey Wardens of the world may not have the same resolve..." comes from. Speculation on the part of the article writer, perhaps? Regardless, if the player refused the Dark Ritual then it was refused. There is no Old God Baby.
I've seen him write something almost identical in another thread as well, but I found this one first.

Not a problem. I used to invest a ton of time in collecting and remembering developer quotes so I know how difficult it can be to find one.

The quote was about desire demons? Is this what people are talking about?
David Gaider: This is correct. Desire demons are about desire and want, not simply lust. They are not succubi.
I'm all for having a male form for the desire demons-- really they are creatures of illusion and can look however they wish-- but not having a male version of their model was certainly not borne of a desire to have them only appeal to one gender or orientation.
Fruit of the Doom: When you think about it though, an androgynous desire demon would make more sense...
David Gaider: That was, in fact, the original concept. Sadly, it was a bit more difficult to convey without the model looking vaguely prepubescent-- which we wanted to avoid.

Do you prefer naive or more mature LIs? or something else?
That depends. I prefer naive, sweet and kind girls to romance, they melt my rough and cold heart
But I also often prefer more mature male LIs for my female characters. I don't really know why is that so. The situation can change anyway, I could fall in love with a kind and sweet guy in games too ![]()
But what I REALLY like is diversity. The option to choose between different LI personalities. That's what gives me the happiness.
