Just from the heavy featuring she has I mean, I had a feeling she was going to be a romance character from the start. I kinda just got a fiery chemistry from her and the Inquisitor.

Cassandra (potentially) being straight is legitimately the single, most horrible romance crime done by BioWare since they made James Vega unromanceable.

Yes. It would also show that they didn't "break the ice", considering the habit of making the co-protagonists straight.

She can have a fiery chemistry with ladyInquisitor just fine as well.

Yes, oh god, I would love to see the same exact scene with a Lady Inquisitor. Cassandra with her sword at Lady Inquisitor's throat. Erm. Yes. Hmmm....good imagery.

Are you just hoping she's going to be Lesbian/Bisexual or do you actually think she is? If you are just hoping then I'd say there's very little chance, especially for the former. She'll be Bi at the very most.

This talk of Cass being straight makes my blood boil!

Cassandra is more likely to be the straight male romance than any of the other female LI's at this point. If only because it is very unlikely that she will be a female only option (due to what appeared to be sexual tension between her and Regalyan in DoTS), so it appears to be a 1/2 chance that she is and a 1/3 chance for any other other female LI.

I don't really have any preference on the matter. I want to romance her myself, so I hope shes available to men, but other than that I don't mind. I'm not going to hope on behalf on the people who do want her, because if she does turn out to bisexual there will be other people disappointed at the fact that another particular female LI is male only.

I am hoping that she's bisexual. I don't actually have enough information to actually say one way or another what she is. I think there's a better than "little" chance that she's bisexual.

I was originally going to try and romance Scribbles but I think I'm gonna go for Dorian now (if possible, highly likely)  .

I get the, "She's used in marketing, they're going to make her available to straight males" argument, but to me, the only thing that says is that she won't be a lesbian.

I am very curious as to how some people are so sure who is going to be romanceable (ignoring those who are confirmed) and what their sexuality is going to be based on barely a hint of information. Especially when they're so sure that they routinely tell other people their opinions as if they're fact.

About Fenris being abused, I've heard about this a lot of times, but I never got that impression from the game (and it acually makes the "glistening" banter with Isabella horrible). Where does it come from? What did I miss?

I really hope Scribbles isn't a lesbian, because she'd just fall into Bioware's seemingly typical 'homosexual info girl' they seem to be overplaying. We've had Kelly Chambers and Samantha Traynor already, Scribbles I hope is Bisexual at least.

I see your point anyway, but Kelly was actually bisexual.

I am completely undecided. My first Inquisitor will be a female elven mage. Vivienne and Cassandra definitely look promising. I don't know anything about Scribbles, but she looks cute (I hope she has more depth than Traynor). Sera seems also fun...and she is an elf. I like elves :)

I'm pretty sure Cassandra will be straight though, I get the impression she's going to be Dragon Age's Ashley, they're definitely seemingly setting her up to be the default male Inquisitor's LI.

I disagree. I think that Cassandra is more Liara than Ashley, because she seems to be the most important companion. It also means that her unavailabilty as a romance to everyone, would send a clear sign that the male Inquisitor is the only real option, which I don't believe Bioware will do.

Mostly the look on Denarius's face when he says: "The lad is quite skilled, isn't he?". There are a couple of other scattered references, such as Denarius apparently letting Hadriana "play" with Fenris whenever she wanted to, Fenris saying how he'd lived to please his master, etc.

Personally, I think a lot of the LI are fairy obvious because we can kinda close some off as being romance characters through estimation. It's insinuated that there are going to be two romance characters per orientation and we can assume the Grey Warden, Iron Bull, Varric, Cole and Leliana are not going to be available for reasons you can probably figure out for yourself. That leaves Cassandra (confirmed), Cullen (confirmed), Vivienne, Solas, Sera, Dorian and Scribbles as possible options and there's 7 there so it's not exactly far-fetched to suggest 6 of these will be the romance choices (at least one of them being solely gay/lesbian).

Well, anyone who is familiar with Bioware's product and history is going to recognize they have a certain formula for their LI's. Anyone who doesn't is kidding themselves.

That said, it's a formula that has been subverted before, so I think that assuming that they'll stick to it is anything but a safe bet.

It all comes down to content, in the end. I do hope all of the bisexual options are companion ones. I do love dragging my LI around with me. However, as long as the NPC and Companion romances have equal romance content, I'll be fine with it.

I really have no other preference for the break down other than I want Cassandra and I want her for my Inquisitor Deanna.

I don't see how having Cassandra straight somehow invalidates female Inquisitors. Particularly given that most female players are, presumably, straight.

If anything the lead male companion being male only would send a clear sign that the male Inquisitor is the only "real" option.

This formula needs to die in a fire, tbh.

That piece of dialogue is exclusive of male Hawke, isn't it? That might be why I missed it... As for Hadriana, he says that after saying that she denied him his meals, so I thought it was really some sleep depriving kind of torture. Is my naïveté reaching Merril's levels or what?  :D Thank you, btw  :)

I think it's coming from past experiences (at least with the females).

Like, I would bet money on Scribbles being a lesbian as I don't think they'd give straight male Inquisitor only one companion romance (and they did something similar in ME3).

Historically, the female featured in marketing alongside male inquisitor has been straight...so, people think Cassandra will be straight.

This leaves Sera as the bisexual.

At this point the only companion/adivsors we can completely rule out as LI's are Cole and Leliana. Those two have been very specifically shut down.

Now, I will agree that Iron Bull, Beard Warden, and Varric are all unlikely as they don't fit the mold(though Varric only diverges from it in that he's a dwarf; aside from that, he fits it perfectly). But they've all got an appeal that I wouldn't call niche, and all make viable options for subverting the formula.

I'd also like to point out that in DA2, Isabela was the female companion/LI used in marketing and, playersexuality aside, she was straight as a spiral.

I don't think Cassandra being straight sends out a message that the male Inquisitor is the preferred playthrough or anything like that at all. Shephard and Ashley were best friends in my ME story and it was kinda nice to not have her hitting on me despite my Shep being a lesbian, in-fact I actually tried to get my Fem-Shep with Miranda who was my first choice but it couldn't happen, that made the relationship I had between those two realistic for my experience. All you players who want to romance Cassandra as a female even if she's straight doesn't mean your character doesn't have to try, it'll still be your own unique perspective.
