I feel like I'm one of like five people who adored James. I did. I take him on my team frequently. But LadyShep deserved James. She got shafted and not in the good way. (I'm not even talking about that icky date rape scenario in Citadel DLC, which doesn't exist in my world)

The way the Vega ...I'm not going to call it romance...scene....plays out in the Citadel DLC where the two can sleep together implies a lack of consent on Vegas part, either b/c of drinking or Sheps superior position (I believe).

You have to have the wilder party while not being in a romance. Stupid Javik.

Fingers crossed about it actually coming with allll the dlc this time...I both don't want to pay for Citadel again and also couldn't play through the game without it

I think the opposite. Both Vivienne and Miranda are arrogant bosh'tets.
I've always suspected that they made the decision to make Vega straight and unromanceable partly to defy the expectation that existed that he was being added to the game specifically to fill that role.

Either way, I'm really sorry to hear that.
I don't like saying I'm nervous about the games romances b/c most of the time I feel like its just icing on the cake that the game has that feature. But I know thats not true, and I really value the feature and do think its significant to the games. Mainly my nervousness comes down the the NPCs right now. Mainly Scribbles...she seems cool...her role has just traditionally not been something I've appreciated (a secretary who also has a vaguely halfassed and potentially gay romance tacked on). And as some have pointed out, it does seem unlikely that they will give straight men only 1 female companion romance (Cassandra). Not only because it seems like they would give those gamers more choices, but because Cass is definitely not 'traditional'.(I hate even saying that, but after the way Miranda was treated in the ME series...well it doesn't seem an unreasonable fear). I think its amazing Cass is such a hardcore badass and even if I can't romance her do to her alarming similarity to a pathological liar high school gym teacher of mine...erm ...I think shes super cool, and most definitely should be a romance. I just worry that her not ticking a lot of the conventional 'boxes' bodes badly for the overall equitable distribution of companion LIs....

My Femshep romanced her before I was a PC player
Strangely, Femshep had voiced lines for a romanced Ashley on Earth and Mars (but they vanish afterwards, and we get Maleshep voiceover....but no voicever at all with Tali), which makes no sense since only romances that started in ME1 had those dialogues.

Really? I hadn't heard they actually recorded anything for Ash/femshep in 3. I don't know if that makes it better or worse. I had been so sure it would happen...
Now if only Shepard wasn't dumped by Jacob and Thane didn't die... Tho I am one of few who thinks that Thane romance in ME3 wasn't a complete mess and his death was quite emotional and tragic

Jacob was a slap in the face, and even if I didin't really liked him, that killed every kind of appreciation I had for his character (ME2 destination: tube)

Joker and Vega where there, and maybe I would/not would have considered them, but at least the choice would have been there, and there would not have been the feeling of "ethero females are second class gamers" (that was how I feel at least. don't know other people)

Save game modding, just activating the Ashley romance flag, but since I'm replaying the trilogy with all my Shepards, I'll try it on ME1.
However, I'm not optimistic that romance flags and gender checks will be that easy to override in DAI...

Being totally fine with my female characters romancing men and women, and being less fine but willing to roll male characters to romance women and men, I am positive that I will end up happy with someone, or many someones, in DA:I. After all, at this point I couldn't name a favorite favorite Origins LI to save my life, and even with the 1/class LIs in SWTOR only my smuggler ended up disappointed.
Liked because Corso was the worst.
