Ok, I never bothered to do the math, but certainly, if there's a way to do it with only 5 romances, I think that woud be the safest bet. Maybe there's only one NPC romance (Cullen, bisexual), Sera and Cass (bisexual) and what? maybe Solas (straight) and Dorian (gay)? It' wouldn't be really fair (straight males get 2 companons LI) but, I don't know, it sounds very likely to me. I wish there were 8 romances, but I find it hard to believe we're going to be that lucky

Regardless of what they do someone will claim it's not fair anyway.

I thought Cortez looked especially generic and boring, but maybe it's just me. At least, in my opinion, the advisors for DA:I look as unique as the companions from what we've seen.

I was gunning for Kaidan, so I didn't pay much attention to Steve.

Just compare their faces to those of Ashley, Kaidan, Miranda. Says it all.

I never had a problem with how they looked, only that I didn't get more time to spend with either of them. (And the shower scene, which was stupid). I liked their stories aside from that.

There's a lot more effort put into the faces of Ashley and Miranda or any squad member for that matter.

They still managed to get more than Tali in that regard.

Oh well, I couldn't imagine how could anyone complain if the gave us 6 or 8 bisexual LI  :P But, yes, I see your point

I'm sure they would find a way.

While I think the majority of supporters of the Iron Bull and Beard Warden romances(I don't include Varric in that; aside from the fact that he's a dwarf, I think is rather conventionally handsome) want them because they just fit their tastes better, I think there's also a call for some greater variety and a simple change from the conventional mold.

It's not exclusive in regards to the male LI's; there's no small call for a dwarf or qunari female LI, either.

I have to wonder if that's actually echoed as a major demand outside the forums. I'm just skeptical whether or not it's a niche interest, mostly among the more dedicated fans. I could definitely see a qunari female being popular if she looked like the ones we've seen in concept art. They're basically within the standards of conventional beauty, even if exaggerated with fantasy elements. If they were built like Iron Bull with boobs, I'm doubtful they'd be as well received. I could possibly see a qunari male being popular if he was comparatively proportioned, also. It's more the specific build they gave Iron Bull that makes me doubtful.

I liked Samantha's face more than Ashley's and Miranda's.

Ugh  :crying:

I flirted with both. When it came down to it there wasn't even a conversation about it. Steve just acknowledged he was inferior to Kaidan and left.

Only way to find out is to find out. I'd rather they take a risk and try something different than stick to the tried and true route.

I imagine Bioware already does market research on this sort of thing and has a better idea than we do. But I guess we'll see if it ever happens. To be honest, I wouldn't be surprised if this isn't why they went with Cullen as a more widely appealing third option.

not only his face, Cortez was overall boring. I always romanced Kaidan. :-/

Your opinion. I happened to like Cortez.    I felt a realness to his romance.

All I know is that I am going to be disappointed if Cassandra doesn't have some definition to her arms because someone decided that wasn't conventionally attractive.

Agreed.  I'm hoping for Aveline level buffness, at the least.

I'm hoping for something like this.

Cassandra needs to look like she's ready to step inside the octagon.

sorry, but after carth, sky and thane I'm tired of these ex-girlfriend and ex-boyfriend issues lots of men in Bioware games have.

I can already feel your disappointment. I'm willing to bet on Aveline being as far as they'd ever go. As long as Cassandra is suitably athletic, I'll be okay with it.

I didn't think Aveline looked much different than every other woman in the game.

Her arms look pretty muscular in the prologue. After that the impression of buffiness is achieved mostly with her armor, because rushed game is rushed.

Hey, I didn't use Aveline as a reference.

Then again, I didn't find Aveline attractive, though that was mostly due to her grating personality and voice.

I romanced Steve three times. I liked him a lot. I just always wanted more content to magically appear.

I have hopes that the NPC romances in DA will be fuller.

I am curious as to how it all balances out. I, of course, plan on doing all of them, eventually.

I never saw that at all. She just seemed like a normal woman to me.
