Yes, it's been confirmed Leli won't be LI.

I wasn't sure the one statement i saw was sorta vague.

I rather have new LIs than old ones because I don't like the idea that my Warden or my Hawke has break up from their LIs.

Or.... if you didn't romance her in DAO, she could be available for the Inquisitor. Romanced Leliana would still be with Warden.

You know, I'd like to see the romance characters have real reasons to be interested, or not, in the inquisitor beyond their gender. Maybe not to the point it excludes you from a romance, but shouldn't that factor into it at least a little bit? Maybe it takes a bit more time and effort to win over a human LI if you play an elf or dwarf? Otherwise you can have them with set orinetations all you want, they'd still come across as a bit "playersexual" if the only consideration on their part is if you have the preferred gender. And I'm sorry, but a token line where it's asked if they mind you're <race> doesn't quite cut it for me.

I suppose it is a bit too much effort to put into it when the romances are just a small part of the game, and one the devs supposedly don't care for. It would still be nice for the immersive factor.

Yes. That way it would work very well. I was too worried that my LI would break up with my previous protagonist that I didn't realize that the romance could be optional :)

I'm not sure that I'm following you. You would like that the race of your progonist will have impact on the romance. I think that was something I understood but I didn't understand that "playersexual" thing. What does that have to do with race?

I like the idea that race would have impact on romance. I'm not sure if it's about that developers don't care about it. I think it makes the relationships more difficult and not just romance relationships. But what I have heard about DAI then there will be more complex relationships (not just romance relationships) so maybe the race will have more impact on the relationships in DAI. Based on what I have heard I have imagined that you  can be very good friends with your companions and comparing to that the romance part is minor. So that way race and other "restrictions"  could have impact on the friendship and that way also have impact on  the romantic relationship. So I think it would benefit the whole game and its story as well.

Thank you!  I love how all of the "playersexual" haters are suddenly placated because the LI's won't all be bisexual.  Forget the fact that:  1.)  bisexual =/= playersexual; and 2.) in every other aspect, the romances are still "playersexual" (regardless of race, class, disposition, looks, personality, etc.).

Makes me wonder if the "playersexual" opponents weren't really opposed to playersexuality after all......

I don't understand what you are saying. I get the feeling that I have missed something. What is your point? Are you sarcastic perhaps?

He is saying that people who hated the concept of 'all love interests falling for your character regardless of who you are' and preferred 'all love interests should have set preferences because reasons' seem to only care about the gender liked to be set and not things like race, despite the rampant racism in Thedas compared to the mild sexism, and practically none homophobia.

In other words, double standards.

Main thing I've been thinking in that area is that neither Cullen or Cassandra would romance a blood mage; with the reveal that we aren't getting blood mage, I've adjusted that to Cullen, at least, not being too keen on romancing a necromancer. Cassandra, I'm not sure about; would depend on how much necromancer relates to the Mortalitasi and what her opinion of that group is.

But really, it should be our decisions and actions in the whole of the game; do we spare this man or kill him, do we defend this village or this fort, this, that, and the other, that affects who wants to get into a romantic relationship with us.

Companion or advisor NPC, I hope Leliana will romanceable. It would be extra interesting if she fell in love with the Warden. Now that the Warden is missing, she might think should she leave the Warden for another, or keep waiting and hope she will be reunited again with the Warden?

Bioware has confirmed that LIs of previous protagonists will not be Lis for the Inquisitor.

By "playersexual" I mean that as long as you have the parts a LI might prefer, they won't care about what race or class you are, and only marginally about if you kick puppies or like templars. I liked how Fenris had real issues with mages and though you could romance him anyway, he was written to have strong opinions about it. Not just, "I hate mages! But you're the player so even though you are a mage we can be a happy couple." Far as I recall, he still struggled with the concept when involved in a romance.

I'd just like to see something like a human templar being a bit uncertain about romancing a mage, or an elf a bit standoffish about romancing a human or dwarf, or so on. It doesn't have to mean they won't romance those characters in the end, just that it would be nice to see it be more than an almost nonexistant consideration in some cases. That would make them real and complex characters way more than if they are straight or bisexual.

Consider how many complained about the DA:O romances being "playersexual" towards race and morality.

Then consider how many complained about the DA2 romances being "playersexual" towards gender.

There's your answer :)

Plus, complaining about "playersexuality" seemed to stop when it was announced that there would be gender restrictions.  We still don't know about other restrictions.

Thanks for the clarification.

I was wondering what he meant because I guess I can say that I'm playersexual opponent because I want set sexualities. But my reasons are that I want characters to be the same all the time and it is me who changes. I also want to hear stories that are told for example from the perspective of a straight woman. It might not be big difference comparing to other sexualities but difference nonetheless. I think the race issue is different than sexuality because if you are elf and you don't like dwarfs but you have to work with a certain dwarf because there is a war etc then you might grow feelings towards that dwarf. I think that is more likely than if a gay man will grow feelings toward a woman.

I have been thinking that blood mage thing for a while. I have never been a blood mage so I'm guessing that you don't have to be a blood mage in the beginning of the game so  instead of that you could become blood mage during the game. So if that's true then it would be reasonable that for example Fenris wouldn't join you in DA2 if he sees that you are a bloodmage. But if you became bloodmage during your romance then I could see that he could accept that thing even if he didn't like that if you don't use bloodmagic for example for killing innocent people.

NOOO! :( Too bad. Such potential gone to waste. Oh well, I look forward to romance Cassandra, and hopefully Seras too.

Though I wonder if having a one night stand constitutes as being called romancable?

I think of Sera as like Seras too. I hope Sera is like Seras Victoria anyway.

So sexy

If my female inquisitor can't romance Cass, she will be forever single and very angry. Will do as many evil things as the game allows and it will all be because Cass doesn't love her. Same for Viv. Also Solas (but male inquiz for him).

(Please BioWare, don't make me have 3 homicidal inquisitors!)

The sexual frustration alone from not being able to romance Cass or Solas on my femquisitor would destroy all of Thedas.
