Having the Playersexual Concept would avoid all this frustration.
Sorry dear, but that ship has long since sailed.

For Inquisition, perhaps. DA4 on the other hand may yet have it rectified.

The word "rectified" seems to suggest that set sexualities is a bad idea.

Good. I see it as such.
So sexy
If my female inquisitor can't romance Cass, she will be forever single and very angry. Will do as many evil things as the game allows and it will all be because Cass doesn't love her. Same for Viv. Also Solas (but male inquiz for him).
(Please BioWare, don't make me have 3 homicidal inquisitors!)
The sexual frustration alone from not being able to romance Cass or Solas on my femquisitor would destroy all of Thedas.
Oh wow.
Well sign me up for the angry Lady Quizzy club if Cass isn't gay or bi.
DON'T DENY ME THAT AMAZINGNESS!!
Hear hear, my poor Quizzy might be forever alone if this happens D:
Yeah and honestly.. there's just no way I could romance her as a male Inquisitor. It wouldn't feel "right." If you know what I mean.
I cray-cray. Inquisition is making me lose. My. Mind.
People shouldn't assume that there won't be race restrictions, we don't know right now. Someone asked Mike and he only said " details later ", not answering the question.
I'm not so much assuming there won't be race restrictions as I am sticking my fingers in my ears and chanting "LA LA LA I CAN'T HEAR YOU!" when people talk about them, because they're a terrible idea.
Oh great race restrictions.
There's a 80% chance that means everyone's available to humans I mean really race restrictions to me are just are ugh. When ~80% of the playerbase is going human you know the chances of LIs being restricted for the majority of the playerbase is practically nil. So any attempt to have that balanced is doomed form the start. It's only going to screw over those who don't want to play human. >_>

If female Quizzy can't have an LI for ~reasons~ I just...I can't. ![]()
Well the first thing is all those jerks are gonna get booted out the party. >:|
Leliana's personality is a combination of caring, submissive, and manipulative while Cassandra comes off aggressive and take charge. That's not to say she couldn't lead, but even if she did, you might not realize it.
That's actually part of the reason my Couseland separated from her (via marriage to Anora) after hardening her- when she talked about how she could wrap around people to fall in love with her even as they knew that she, as a bard, would be trying to wrap them around her finger...
Kind of like when Harold J. Nicholson, CIA turncoat who spied for the Soviets, wore a shirt with 'KGB is for me' to a CIA party. Sometimes the best manipulators are perfectly honest with what they're doing.
It was a sad but character-appropriate moment for him to realize that, even though she had never given him reason to doubt her or sinerity, he would never trust her completely because a wiggling bit of doubt would wonder if she was only manipulating him to be in love. At least a political marriage with Anora would be reliably sincere in its reasoning.
They're not gonna have race restrictions, of that I'm almost 100% certain.
Even though it arguably makes more sense in the world of Thedas to have race restrictions as opposed to gender restrictions, apparently it would somehow be TOO RESTRICTIVE to the poor player. ![]()
*grumble grumble* I'm just worried I won't be able to romance Cass cuz of something as irrelevant as a vajayjay. ![]()

To keep the 2 choices for everyone, races restrictions would just increase the number of romances they have to do and I doubt they had that much time to add more than what we usually get, the extra-time wasn't for that.
Leliana just does what many players do: find out what increases a companion's affection meter and then try to max it.
I'm sure she'd have spam gifted you meaty dog bones if she could.
Ah, but she'd be more clever than that for me. She'd realize I'd be suspicious of someone who agrees with me on everything, so she'd be just disagreeable enough to be authentic and interesting but not unpleasant.
I will say, I think she has a strong sense of self to be able to have sincere love despite being a master seductress and manipulator. If you know how to pull the strings, it can be hard to keep them apart.

Didn't she also say she was taught to keep her loyalties fluid. Sounds like she can turn as she sees fit.
I am not certain of it.
In one of the "whaaaaat, why not playersexual??!!" threads after the set sexualities announcement, I argued til I was blue in the face that racial restrictions would make a lot more sense in context than gender restrictions. Pretty sure one of the devs at one point shot me down and argued that racial restrictions would be overboard. I really doubt they will go this route.
At most, they might make someone like Iron Bull not romancable on account of his Qunari-ness, but I don't think they'd restrict romances to say a Qunari Inquisitor.

Inquisitor's glowy green left hand for LI!

I'd find race restrictions more understandable than biological sex/gender restrictions.
Putting both restrictions in the game makes tertiary content even less accessible than it already is for all that time, money, content, and work.
To me it just sends the wrong message regarding interracial relationships in the real world.
When we have a hundred love interests and can include the spectrum of people from "Elf who'll only romance other elves" to "dwarf who will only romance qunari because they have a size difference fetish", then, maybe, I'll support it.

Interracial relationships in the real world are different though, because well, everyone is human.
