He looks bald and middle aged to me.

I'm firming up my bet: Solas, DHMG/Dorian and Cullen for the male LIs, Cassandra, Sera and Scribbles for the women.
Sera was super cute in the trailer. She's better looking than I expected from the concept art.
Okay, so Cole is in. So is DHMG.
And all that trailer does is make me want Cassandra so much more for my FemInquisitor and so much less for a male Inquisitor. I should probably just stop stalking for news. I am setting myself up for heartbreak.
Going by the trailer, this setup seems likely:
COMPANIONS:
Cassandra (warrior); Iron Bull (warrior); Grey Warden (warrior); Varric (rogue); Sera (rogue; now with new hair); Cole (rogue); Vivienne (mage); Solas (mage); DHMG (mage)
NPCs:
Cullen, Scribe Girl, Leliana
I think it's very obvious that these three will not be companions. They are the ONLY ones shown without weapons, as far as I can see.
Since we can now be reasonably sure about that, we can also assume that 2/2/2 split is def. gonna happen. I trust Bioware to want to keep it fair, so the NPC romances will be bisexual (Cullen and Scribe Girl). That leaves two straight and two gay companions for romance. (Prediction: Cass and DHMG will be straight; Sera and Solas will be gay; it is also possible that DHMG will be the gay LI, with Solas being straight)
In other words, my worst nightmares are coming true. *whips back and forth* Someone sedate me before I hurt myself.
PS: I am also a tad diappointed that they used the default male Inquisitor for the trailer. Where's the female version? ![]()
The no sex scene really doesn't bother me at all (consider we had dry hump, not sex scene in DA 2 anyway). But Sebastian was one of the worst romance plot I've ever seen. He was such a boring, preachy, stick in the mud character. And the fact that every flirt lines from fem Hawke gives me the impression that she's so damn close to just strip down and jump him really made me sick. Useless in combat, boring, bland character, and terrible romance plot. Boy, BioWare really outdid themselves here. The only good thing about him is his shiny armor, and they still managed to screw that up with Andraste crotch. Man, he sounds more and more like a devs' waste bin lol
Not having a sex scene didn't turn me off because that just feels really immature, it was the creepy chaste marriage thing. It literally went from "Oh, look at Sebastian's dreamy soulful eyes" to "Oh crap, he's got the crazy eyes! Code red! Code red!" LMAO
Yes the chaste marriage... When I learned that Sebastian is also a LI I was very interested in him and I thought that in one of my playtroughs I could romance him. But then I accidentaly read somewhere that you can't have sex with him so I thought that I can't condemm my Hawke into celibacy. I guess I just had wanted that Sebastian will break his vow of chastity for me.
It wouldn't have been so bad if we would have been married..
When I met him in a game I wasn't as interested in him as I was when I read about him. I think it really matters how the characters interact with you in a game and I think it matters more than the appearance.
I don't think it automatically means they'll do 2/2/2 with 6 LIs. It's possible they wouldn't do it with NPC romances.
I think Dorian will be gay instead of Solas, if they do 2/2/2, because his name references Dorian Gray and he has a lot of Oscar Wilde/Dandy hints about him. But also I just really, really want him to be, so I'm going to believe it until there's better evidence not to. lol
Okay, so, now that's is practically confirmed beyond doubt (for me) that Cullen is an NPC, I can revise my statements!
(/cheater)
1) Male: Cullen, Solas; female: Cassandra, Sera.
2) I wanted Cullen, so I'm good there. For males, Solas, then DHMG. Females, Vivienne.
3) Asexual would be nice.
4) Bisexual/vague/unstated
5) Four.
6) Uncertain. I do want them, though. If there are NPC romances, the NPC's in question will be permanent members of staff, meaning you cannot get rid of them or avoid talking to them after every major mission; they will be necessary to the story and thus cannot be kicked out or killed (until maybe end-game). Party banter could happen via wandering companions within the main base (Skyhold, yes?). NPC's could react to main decisions via a post-mission conversation, allowing your "approval" to be raised or lowered.
1) Male: Companion- Solas, Dark-Haired Mage; NPC- Cullen
Female: Companion- Cassandra, Sera; NPC- Scribbles
5) Six.
6) YES.
Now it's off to celebrate (near) confirmation!

It's possible, yes, but the chances of that are pretty slim, I think.
I am also inclined to believe that DHMG might be the gay option, if only because they might want to break the mold of gay elves. And let's face it, another small, slim gay/bisexual guy would just be very stereotypical.
Prediction: Cass and DHMG will be straight;
Stop stop stop stop lalallalala aaaaaaahhhh dskdfjgk, don't keep saying that.
And yes, i'm waiting for my femInq trailer, it's always the dude who gets the first trailer. ![]()
It's also possible that they'll make the NPCs the straight ones. So Cullen and Scribbles (assuming she's a romance, and assuming they're even doing 2/2/2) would be straight and Cass and ... whoever ... would be gay.
There's no evidence for this other than Cullen not blushing and stammering at the male mage Wardens, but there's not that much evidence for anything at this point.
It's also possible that Cullen will be straight and Scribbles wont, though. Or Scribbles could be the lesbian. I think it would be most fair to balance it with the NPCs being bi, but they might not. The only thing we basically know is that Cullen isn't gay.

I highly doubt that they'd make the NPC's uneven. If Cullen was straight and Scribbles a lesbian, then that's two of the four (possibly) romances available to females as NPC's, while the males would have four companions. They're either both straight or both bisexual. I'm hoping it's bisexual/vague/unstated across the board.

That's what all my hopes and dreams are hinging on at the moment, tbh. It is of course also possible that the NPCs don't have the same sexuality.

I SO wish I could. I just have this inner compulsion to keep saying it in the hopes of my heart getting the hint. It has not yet happened. Come release day, everyone else will be happily playing and I'll roll behind a closet or something. WildOrchid....hug me. ![]()
There are alot of assumptions being made here:
1.) We don't know how many LI's there are going to be. People are predicting 4 or 6, but we don't know for sure anything.
2.) We don't know if there will be more than one NPC romance. It might just be Cullen due to his popularity.
3.) If there are more than one NPC LI, we don't know if they will be the same sexuality.
4.) We don't know if they will all be bisexual or if there will be a variety of sexualities.
Let's just remember that it's all speculation, this way, people won't get disappointed if their favorite LI isn't available for them (or isn't even an LI to begin with.....)
I hope both NPC's will be bi. Or straight.
Because we already had gay NPC's. I don't want to romance 'side' characters or characters that don't have the most importance to the story as the first 2 main characters. ![]()

C'mere

Not gonna lie. The GW's looking a little older than I thought he'd be.

I hate to say it too. If he looked like that Gallows artwork (where he's ripping off his necklace), I'd be a big fan still. But he looks a little older. Maybe too old for my tastes. And that's saying something because I'm not opposed to older gents.
On the positive side, DHMG is looking fiiiiine in that trailer, so I'm thinking that I'm switching over to team DHMG now.

Same. He's lookin' damn fine.
Also, is it just me or does he have some darker skin than previously seen? He looks very tanned.
Yessssssss. DHMG is rockin' the war room. ![]()
I really think he's Dorian, because everything else from the survey has turned out true. I'll be surprised at this point if he's not Dorian.

True, but it isn't like we're just guessing outta the blue. I like to call it making an informed prediction.
And if it was that easy to avoid disappointment, I'm pretty sure we wouldn't have so many topics on LI speculation. ![]()

Yeah, he looks tanner, which is great. Especially since Cullen and Solas are paler. He and Cullen make an interesting contrast to each other: pale blonde warrior v. dusky brunnette mage.

Me too because: 1.) Dorian is a great name; and 2.) His description was the most interesting and appealing from the survey.
However, that makes me mad that they would blatantly lie about the survey when they said that a companion from it wasn't in the game anymore. I get trying to cover up for leaked information, but blatant lies to "fool" us seems questionable. I'd rather a "no answer" than a lie.
Yup, I'm hopping onto Team Dorian. He looks mighty fine.
Hmm, so my predictions were right after all...
I guess I know about half of possible LIs and their orientations if 2/2/2 will be used instead of 2/2.
Aaah, I just hope neither Cole nor Sera are LIs
Everyone else (but Cullen and Varric) is just perfect for a LI role
To be honest, I was always super skeptical about how much was changed from the survey, because it was a marketing survey aimed at how to frame stuff that would already be in the game. If it was cut later.. they kind of wasted money conducting the survey. So, I mean, I never wanted to come out and say it was lies, but I was always pretty skeptical based on what the survey was. I'm not really pissed they stretched the extent of the cuts. I mean, I get it's just business. I think they actually just said something like, that stuff had been "cut or changed substantially", so you could frame it so they were saying one or the other, and who decides what's substantial? Look, Dorian is wearing a whole new robe!
I'm not to bent about it, but I'm pretty difficult to ****** off. lol
Meh, still not seeing the love for DHMG. He's not bad-looking, don't get me wrong, but the mustache is a turn-off for me.
I'm still hoping for Iron Bull, personally.
