I disagree, only because they just did that with Samantha Traynor. I think she'll be bisexual with Cullen to even things out,. but maybe that's me being foolishly optimistic again.

I'm not sure why, but I always saw Scribbles as the straight option with Sera as the lesbian option and Cassandra as the bisexual option. It's probably because I REALLY want to romance Cassandra as a female Qunari. Tumblr made me ship them.

But but, that went so well the first time!  She even turned down Male Shepard and everything!

I don't see what else they could do.   What were you thinking?

I highly doubt Cassandra would be gay.  Sera?  Nah...she's a cute elf companion.  Males must be able to romance both of them!

I see Vivienne being the lesbian if anyone.

Well, I'm hoping for 8 LIs. I know it'll be shot down later, but at least it makes things easier for now. :(

If you count bisexuals, it'll never be fair. By definition, someone who is attracted to both men and women have more options than those who are attracted to one.

Not in Dragon Age 2.

Hence why I think that way was the best. I'm talking about when using set sexualities, bisexuals will always get more.

What do you think of the whole argument that playersexual/bisexual companions don't feel "fleshed out" enough or whatever? That's the main argument, I think, from people who didn't like the setup of DA2.

Personally I think that whatever shortcomings the companions had in DA2 was due to overall writing issues and is a bit unfairly (or conveniently) blamed on the fact that they were playersexual.

I could definitely see her as a lesbian, but I'm not sure if I could see her as a LI. I would personally love it if she was, but I think if it came down to Sera or Viv they would go with Sera.

How come?

I see her as being someone the PC can try to get with only to get turned down spectacularly.

Ah I see.

If that were the case, things would be better but I don't think there will be so many.

What does ''spectacularly'' mean?

I think that if DA2 had as much time as DAI, not nearly as many people would be complaining.

To be honest, I think they may have thrown in 2 NPCs because they didn't have six companions that fit the LI status for story/concept reasons.

Would like but can't :(

If you compare DA2 to something like ME2 the romances are pretty much equal (with the advantage going to DA2 really) in content. DAO had lots of time and care go into it so the romances having more detail and care isn't that surprising. It's why I was looking forward to the all bi LIs in DAI. It would show how it could be done well but alas.

Am I using words wrong again?

I have issues with this sometimes.

No, I just wonder how a turn-off can be spectacular.

What are you on about? In Dargon Age 2 bisexuals got 4 options whereas everyone else got 2.

Considering we "only" got 3 in Origins there's actually an even larger gap between bisexuals and everyone else in Dragon Age 2.

Is it something to do with their character or do you mean in terms of giving certain players access to certain romances?

Like, I could see Cassandra being a lesbian just looking at her character but I can't see them making her one and denying that option to straight males.

Granted, I'd personally prefer Vivienne just b/c I like her the most of all of them ;)

Yeah. But now we're stuck with...this.

If it wasn't for No City Elves, this would be the worst news in my opinion.

I'd say a combination of both.

Yeah.

I said before - I think there's plenty of ways playersexual characters could be "fleshed out" in the romance department. Everyone could technically be playersexual, but certain characters could be a lot less open to romancing certain genders... There could still be obstacles in that sense, and possibly getting over them would make the romances feel special.

Bioware does like offering different archetypes to players. So maybe Cassandra as straight, and Vivienne as lesbian, two strong characters, while we would get the sweet, nice pretty girl being scribe girl as BI. That could be a possibility too.

After all I don't forget that for valentine, we had two cards, one for Cassandra ( we know she's an Li ) and one for Vivienne. Varric didn't get one.

See, I really liked the two DA2 romances I completed....better than Origins.

Then again, my Origins romance was f/f Leliana which had less content than Morrigan's/Alistair's and actually even had less than m/f Leliana.

My Origins bar is pretty low.

Another way is have, like in DA2, the dialogue vary depending on gender. Merrill for example brings up her worry that being with male Hawke may produce a child while with female Hawke no such dialogue occurs.

Wow. Now that I think about it you're right Leli did get less. I had never noticed that before. That's... Disappointing. :(

Even with less content I still think Leli > Alistair. I thought that the few conversations we did have were more meaningful.
