She said the single combat duel w/ the Arishok was "romantic", and Varric thinks she has a crush, nothing more.
The Cullen stuff from Origins wasn't a whole lot more than that though either.

I dunno, that's just what I heard someone saying on here and stuffy just said that Varric makes a comment about Cass having a crush on maleHawke, maybe that's all it was.
What Elu said:
She said the single combat duel w/ the Arishok was "romantic", and Varric thinks she has a crush, nothing more.
And she also said the same line to ladyHawke, just with Varric calling it "hero worship".

Cullen has expression in-game interest in women. Cassandra haven't done so for men (or at least nothing different based on gender).
Only reason I would assume shes available or only available for males is cause they're cutting the LI's up for different genders and Cassandra seems like she'd be the most interested in the Inquisition than most other companions making her a little more main-plot story centric, she is romancible and I doubt they wouldn't allow straight guys to be able to have her romance.
Ladyquizzy sounds better imo.
Fem makes me cringe, not to mention in ME people kept calling lady Shepard as femshep and the dude just Shepard. I hope i won't see this **** again during DAI.
Most of the time, I tend to say Lady (Warden/Hawke/Shepard) and Dude (or very rarely Bro) (Warden/Hawke/Shepard). I usually do that because, in my head, my Ladies are the canon version and everything else is an alternate. So far, this time I've been saying "My Lady" or "My Lady Inquisitor".
As for Varric's comments, I don't see that as confirmation either way because it was based on his assumptions about Cassandra and not anything said by Cassandra herself.
I'm still really surprised they let this info out this freaking early.
I'm not.
I'm not. They announced Da2's LIs on Valentines Day, months before the game released.
Less than a month before the damn thing shipped. We are still 5 months away.

Yeah.... always with the "straight guys" in mind.... >.> Not to mention her probably being more important to the story than others, would make her romance or her whole story more interesting than let's say.. scribbles.
Cass being a lesbian would be a surprise, even for me.

I edited. But still, considering the game was supposed to be out last year, I'm not surprised.

Ah, gotcha.
Why is it that people think that Cassandra has to be available to male PCs? Why can't it be Vivienne, Sera or ScribeGirl that is the straight option?
What does Cassandra has that they do not? Before it was officially announced she was an LI, most people though she wasn't going to be available at all.
It's such a strange change of belief:
a few months ago: Cassandra is not going to be a LI.
a few days ago: Cassandra is going to be a straight male option only (or bi but I see that less often).
It's just weird, the character people believed was the less possible candidate to be a LI, which means that people just didn't see her to fit the mold, is now the main candidate for the largest gaming demographic (straight men).
Not saying that it's not happening, I just find the change of perception funky.
I'm fairly convinced that Cass will be at least available to males because she is (and is going to be) the character used most heavily in advertising. Maybe I'm wrong (especially because Cass isn't as "traditionally hot", so they might be using her for her bad-assness and level of import to the story just as much as her sex appeal), but who knows. I don't really think that Bioware should subvert tropes simply for the sake of subverting tropes, but I would be pleasantly surprised if Cass was a lesbian.
(I definitely don't buy that whole sexual tension between her and Regalyan...all of that tension was coming only from him, and her kiss was super chaste)

Or just anyone who plays as a male.
I wanna say it's possible for her to be female only but with the restrictions It's really hard for me to think of a reason she would be, So at most I can logically hope she'd be Bi or somthing not 100% straight.
I hope they announce what sexualities the characters have if they announce them as romance options. still can't decide if they would do that though. I think they'd find or make up more reason not to.

None of that justifies why she would be exclusive to one gender. In fact, this suggests she would be bisexual to be available to everyone.

All I was trying to say is that I'm strongly assuming I know at least shes going to be available for at Least players who make male characters, at Most Everyone.
I was surprised they made Anders bi though. And I remember thinking that it was because he was the "main" companion with a romance and they wanted everyone to see all he had, So thinking about it all I'd bet more on Cassandra being an option for everyone, it's really mostly my worrying that has me assuming her being exclusively a romance for male.guy.bro.dude Inquisitor.

Interest. I never thought Anders was a "main" character in the plot - to me the main character was Varric, beside Hawke. But I suppose part of that was that the mage-templar conflict always felt like a side-plot based on the marketing, which seemed to culminate in the Qunari uprising. When I had Fenris talk to the Arishok and talk about his knowledge of the Qun, I actually figured he was #2 in importance next to Varric.

To add to this, I always thought Aveline was up there with Varric as the real main companions. She has extra bits of dialogue in a lot of quests. Merrill, to me, was the most removed from the plot as far as the romanceables were concerned. I think that Anders/Isabela/Fenris were all about equal in terms of their importance.

That's a good point about Aveline. I was stunned when the flirting icon appeared with Aveline, because she was very much an unconventional person as an LI. I honestly can't decide whether to double applaud Bioware for making her unobtainable, or to be disappointed that they would make the unconventional LI template the un-obtainable one.
I agree with you on your characterization of everyone. Merrill had her own quest with the Eluvian that just never tied back into the conflict with Kirkwall. IMO, they should have done more with an elven uprising in the Alienage in Act II. But of course the game was rushed, so..
I'm not.
I'm not either. With DA:O, I remember them announcing same-sex romances for both genders in August (I remember clearly because it was my question they answered on twitter) and not long after that we found out that Zevran and Leliana were available for same-sex romance. That would be roughly three months before DA:O's November release.
Months prior to that we knew Morrigan would be a romance option, and that you could sleep with her nearly immediately, and that you could then sleep with Leliana after.

I said Main companion with a romance.
Everyone had something to do with the plot though.
The Mage Templar thing was only really that important to the 3rd act, but it had build up through out the entire game. All of Anders missions were part of it while everyone else's really were more personal(I know It was personal to anders).
Same reason I liked Sebastian, the Chantry was important to him but it Also had connections to the plot
Varric had missions were about his brother and the Idol which can count as build up too.
I did say it was just my first thought..a long time ago when I got the game.

They actually advertised months in advantace that Morrigan would be easy to have sex with? ![]()

Yep. In her introduction trailer, it shows parts of her romance scene.
Spoilered for NSFW content.

They didn't advertise she was easy, just that there would be a romance. Players (and commentators) inferred she was "easy" (it was pretty bad, basically ****-shaming by a bunch of posters on the old bio boards) because the Warden "just gave her a book" and she had sex with him.

Yes, it will forever stay with me because the how it was being spoken about came across as... skeevy.
For added context, too, this was during a time in the DA:O marketing that hit a pretty cringe-worthy level. It was focusing on violence and lust and everything grimdark and gritty. Sex and lust was something played up in marketing and interviews, and Morrigan and Leliana -- and the interactions -- were used to illustrate such things.

JESUS. Well I'm glad I never saw those kinds of ads because I'm pretty sure I never would have given the game a shot if I had.
I think I picked the game up from word of mouth, actually.
