you need to take several seats with that because none of us have any clue how the romance system is even going to turn out. at this point EVERYTHING is speculation.

Really, I'm not all for maximizing the amount of choices you can have with romance partners but making sure the characters are believable which means they all have likes and dislikes.  It was one of the few things I disliked about DA2 and felt was pretty jarring, the fact that all the party members were bisexual pretty much (or playersexual if you will).

 

If anything, it also ensures you would also play multiple playthroughs and that you would play a different inquisitor each time.

I wish it were so! Or I mean ... well ... it is speculation / interpretation, but in case you weren't aware - they're apparently having set sexualities for the characters again.

Really, I'm fine with it either way (and do agree it is more realistic), but will be sad if I miss out on too many romances if I again get stuck in a female protagonist niche ... I've tried to play as a male toon in Bioware games, but I can never finish the playthrough.

High five? Also romances will depend on the actions and decisions, maybe even plot itself. Finally a complex system which doesn't remind me of simdating simulators

'Cause I have to play as a stupid default dude in nearly every other game on the market, I don't want to be forced into it in one of the few series of games that let me play a woman, and I do not play videogames to be concerned about straight girls 'realism' or no.

What's the problem?

Not one I can really put a finger on. For Mass Effect, I love Mark Meer, for Dragon Age II, I had never heard of Nicholas Boulton but I didn't find him particularly objectionable. I mention this because I see many people arguing that so-and-so is a better voice actor and blah, blah, blah. I just ... get about half way through and ... lose interest in seeing their story complete. I have also never completed a Dalish Elf Origin, though I've started at least four of them. I have beaten the Dragon Age and Mass Effect games numerous times, and watched my husband complete a few playthroughs and watched youtube videos to catch up on content I missed ...

I won't refuse to play a game with a male protagonist ... but when I have the choice ... I certainly lean towards roleplaying my own gender.
