It's still more than gay males got. I'd have taken an NPC I could flirt with and have feed my fish in ME2 over the alternative, nothing

Are we really going to play the game about who got the most romances between gay/lesbians? Really? Both gay/lesbians and even straight fShepard got the sh!t. Straight dudeshep got the most romances.

That's all.

I wonder how they'll deal with the endings for 3. Will they just pick a canon ending? I can't see how else they could do it.

It's a sequel from what I've heard.

I heard it's set in a different timeline, and logically, you can't make a sequel with 3 different worlds depending on the previous choices.

A way I can see them doing it by having the story continue as if Destroy happened, though that means no Geth. :crying:

However, it wouldn't be making Destroy canon but rather "Control and Synthesis have it end with a utopian society so there is no room to tell a story there."

I thought FemShep had three great romance options with Liara, Garrus and Kaidan. Couldn`t really complain.

Liara is the only one of those that is a given in ME3- Garrus had to be romanced in ME2, and Kaidan had to be alive. If Ashley was your VS and you romanced Thane or Jacob, or forewent romance in 2, your choices with FemShep were Liara and Samantha. Both awesome, IMO, but not if your Shepard wasn't interested in women.

And I think we should actually look at the ME series for what not to do when it comes to romance options.

I mean, when you break it down over the series, it's pretty clear that straight male Shepards were prioritized, and that Liara's availibility for FemShep was tied to the whole race of bisexual blue babes thing, which is pretty problematic. Throw in Kelly and Diana, and you have two more instances where the ME team were willing to throw bones to lesbian/bi female gamers because it would take minimal effort and not infringed too overmuch on Sheploo's magic ****.

Sure, straight males got the best deal, but straight females got 3 LIs in ME2 and gay males got none. That doesn't mean it's fair that they got less than males in the long run, but they got a lot more than I did. I've never had 3 LIs in a Bioware game ever, not even including NPCs that "don't count". I don't see a reason to ignore that, overall. If we're acknowledging that straight males got more, why are we only acknowledging that? As far as unfair treatment goes, yes, gay males easily got the shortest straw.

That makes me sad. I loved the Geth.  :crying:

And now we are going back to the same kind of system. Joy of joys.

Them living is one of the main reasons I don't choose Destroy in many of my playthroughs.

Though i'll admit, i kind of trust the DA team to do it better than DAO (it's been years since DAO anyway) and in equal amount.

I only just want my Cass.  :crying:

I only actually completed ME3 once and I think I did the Synthesis ending. They were all underwhelming choices, in my opinion, and I didn't think they really made sense as realistic solutions. I wasn't as into the ME series as I am DA.

We're so off topic at this point. lol

If the writing is good for the character it shouldn't matter which character it is that is straight, gay, or Bi.   Everyone should have expected the game was NOT going to be the same like it was for the past two games.   And its wrong to automatically assume they are going to the ME3 route. People should wait and see before judging the game and coming to these conclusions.  I plan to play this game several times. I will play f/f, f/m, and m/m. I honestly dont care who they are because I don't expect Bioware to give me the people I want.

I still stand by my belief she will be Bi.

It shouldn't matter if they are all bi then.

I can't say I trust them at all.

I don't. They've shown no evidence for me to trust them on it. Granted, on the same token I don't distrust them on it either. I'm just expecting the worst so that I'm not more disappointed.

Um, this system is exactly the same kind of system Origins had. There were two straight and two bisexual romances. DA2 is the only game to use the 'everyone is available to anyone' system. And it shouldn't matter if they are all ambiguous then as well.

Missed your post, sorry...

Trust me, I do fell your pain. And i recognize that gay men got the worst than anyone, i'm not disagreeing with you at all. I'm just saying there's no point in comparing gay and lesbian romances, we're both in the same boat. :)

I just can't see what is to be gained from this 'new' system (that's not really new).  I see nothing but loss.

That's basically how I feel. I don't see any benefit from it at all. I believe it'll be a lot more fair than ME was. DA has always been more progressive than ME and Bioware has been more progressive in their handling, overall, as time goes on. Still, DA2 was ideal, for me. It's a big let down to have lost that.

So do you basically don't agree with the person who posted this confession?

http://dragonageconf...mething-married

Your issue is about not getting what you want right?

I am sorry you're upset...but you should wait until more information is released before coming to conclusions.  People will still be getting what they want, you just may not get the choices you want in characters.    Every BioWare game is NOT the same as the previous.  People should have expected it to not be the same.    And they have ALREADY said the romances are not going to be like Origins so you are wrong to assume that.

Harvey Dent said it best:

Getting what you want yet not getting the choices you want is contradictory. I never said it was going to be Origins. I said it's going to have the same set sexuality system as Origins.

Because if one gay is alright with it, we should all be alright with it. We should know that by now.

My issue isn't necessarily not getting who I want.

The concern is getting short-changed with either quality/quantity of romance options relative to certain demographics (straight males mainly).  My big concern is that the 'lesbian option' will just be a non-companion leaving me with one companion option.  This wasn't an issue with DA2.
