I still think that there's gonna be symmetry with the NPC romances, which is why I think Scribbles is a mage.
I agree.

We've all been speculating that because we are all said to get options and there are set sexualities, then it will be 2/2/2, but what if it isn't? What if it's 2/4 or 2/3/1, with 4 companions being bi, or 3 companions being bi and 1 being gay? If it was the first then straight gamers would have 3 options and gay gamers would have 2. As an example for the latter, we'd have a straight girl and 2 bi girls, then a straight guy, a bi guy and a gay guy. Then the straight male gamers would have 3 female romances, and everyone else would get 2. Why are we assuming that the numbers will match up exactly? All they said was that everyone would get choices. I like 2/2/2, but have we had any confirmation of it?
After DA2 though, why would we get something other than equal choices? We've all been speculating that because we are all said to get options and there are set sexualities, then it will be 2/2/2, but what if it isn't? I don't know. I was just asking if it was confirmed.

I really really hope so, but I'm also trying to temper my expectations so that I'm not too disappointed if the romances end up being weighted in favor of straight players like they were in Origins. I WANT to believe they'll do better than that, but media consistently disappoints me in terms of queer representation, so...
I'll cross my fingers, anyway.
I don't know. I was just asking if it was confirmed.
I don't think it's been confirmed. It seems people are just leaning towards it being likely because David supposedly expressed a preference for that set-up if resources allowed it.
Nope. Nothing. Just confirmation of different sexualities.I don't know. I was just asking if it was confirmed.

Nothing was confirmed for sure and what you said here is entirely possible.
I think 2/3/2 viv warden straight. Cass scribe girl cullen bi. Sera dorian gay. Each side get 3 squad mates plus 2 npc not 50 50 on gender but still a good deal.
I think bioware will follow tradition on romances. There has always been a female mage and female rogue romance. Viv mage sera rogue will both be li i think.
BioWare already broke the tradition by making Cassandra (a woman warrior) a romance.
My only hope are for Solas and Varric as LI for my females Inquisitors.
Cullen is cute and all, but in my eyes is too much a mix of Alistair, depressed Anders and angry Fenris. I can pass on another emo romance. ![]()
But we know nothing of Solas, maybe he'll be another emo ![]()

naaa....he doesn't have the right hairstyle
(he doen't have an hairstyle at all, but...
oh well...)

Let's see if they break it again by making her a bi romance.

Lesbian would be the real breakage.
Although I'm not interested in him personally, I am totally expecting Varric to be a LI. Just like what happened with Garrus, who I'm sure would never have been a LI had it not been for the fans craving for a piece of his Turian ass en masse after the first ME.
If there's enough interest, TPTB will deliver.

Ha, a lesbian/gay "main" co-protag? Something that will probably never happen.

Your right Varric will proberly go down the same road as tali garrus anders. Past companion coming back as a li.
The alternative to Garrus were Jacob and Thane. But of course the popular guess is that there will be only two options for a straight female character and one of them seems to be Cullen. Varric also appears to be straight or bisexual. So would they make the only party member option for a straight female character a dwarf?
I don't see why they wouldn't; Varric is handsome, charming, funny. Just because he happens to be short isn't a reason to call him a niche option.
I don't think they'll make Varric an LI at any rate, though; not because he's a dwarf, but because he is the friendzone character of Dragon Age.
I don't really think Varric or Iron Bull will be race specific LIs, like some people have been suggesting. I think, if they were going to do that, they would have offered at least one alternative female to straight guys and lesbians. It seems unfair to just have one or two random extra LIs of races people have been asking for LIs from and only have male options.
Plus he still has those unresolved issues with Bianca.

Which, will hopefully be dealt with.
Even if he doesn't become an LI, dealing with that issue seems critical for his character development so he can move on.

At this point, BioWare would just be trying to keep up with the new standard set by GuildWars 2 with Marjory Delaqua and Kasmeer Meade. They were the protagonists of last years monthly updates and the story follow them falling in love and becoming a couple (it's adorable, well Kasmeer is adorable, Marjory is all dark and gruffy).
Turns out Bianca was just an imaginary person he grew attached to.
