Did DG confirm Cole is not an LI?
No, but it is heavily assumed though.
I was just curious since it popped out of nowhere.
Popping out of nowhere... so typically Cole-ish.

And at most, I'd put a few months between Asunder's end and the start of DAI.
Yes, it's still 9:40 Dragon during the epilogue.
Yep. He said that Cole has the mind of a child so he's not going to be an LI.
Merrill was pretty childlike, too. Meh.
Why would the Inquisitor need a kid around, in any case?

For stabbing things.

There's a difference between a person having a somewhat whimsical, childish personality(Merrill) and someone literally having the mentality of a child(Cole).
As for that second part, I've been asking myself that same question.

I'm pretty sure I will never use Cole in my team. Not even slightly interested to have him as a companion. What a waste.

I still am shocked that he is even in the game.

I almost had a heart attack when I saw him in the trailer. But I was happy ever after ![]()

I feel that way about Vivienne myself.

I feel that about Cassandra and, maybe, Vivienne too.

Why do you think Vivienne is a waste?

I guess i'll stay the murder knife long enough to give him a chance to change my Asunder perception of him.

From what I've read so far, I know I won't like her character and thus is a wasted slot for someone who I would like as a companion more. If she is an LI, even bigger of a waste since she takes a slot away there too.

He said that it's creepy to want to romance Cole, so I'd take this as a pretty solid confirmation that Cole's not a LI.

That was my take-away from DG's comments as well.
Cole is more like a little brother. I really hope we can treat him like that in DA:i.

Bullshit. She f*cked up. It's what people do in life. I'm not gonna kill her for it.
Beyond the debacle with the book and the Qunari and Kirkwall (all of which I do blame her for), it's the fact that Isabela horrifically murdered helpless innocents in cold blood, just to save her own skin...it doesn't help that she was trafficking them into slavery to begin with, either. That's far, far more than just "f*cking up". And like someone already said, "feeling bad" about it doesn't do anything to make it better (It's what taints Sten in my mind as well). And who knows what other atrocities she's responsible for during her "illustrious" pirate career? For me at least, a fine ass and a witty personality is no remedy for the fact that she's an utterly vile, deplorable person.
All that being said, if it's an option in the upcoming game, my Inquisitor will give Isabela the smiting that she so richly deserves.
I leave earlier with people still talking about Cole as a LI...and come back to folks yet again talking about the murderknife on one character or another.
Stay classy.
Funny, I have yet to see any character in a BioWare game as a 'waste' that I'd never want to take around. Maybe some characters of mine wouldn't approve of them, but they're all good characters. I guess that's a big reason why I like said games.
Most Bioware games have at least one for me. A character I don't dislike enough to enjoy arguing with or spend energy hating, but don't really like either. They just exist, and beyond acknowledging that they exist I don't think about or interact with them at all if I can avoid it.
In Origins it was Oghren, who I didn't care for at all. He drank a lot and was mildly irritating, and that's all I remember about him.
In Mass Effect it was Kaidan, who I got bored speaking to and so stopped altogether.
And in Dragon Age 2 it was Sebasitian, who never got taken anywhere. When he screamed at Elthina's death I looked over and went "Oh yeah, you're in this game, aren't you?"
Maybe Inquisition will break the mold and I'll love or hate all the companions, or at least enjoy speaking to them all. I certainly hope so.

Haha I agree with both of these!
Hopefully DA:I won't follow suit. If it's anyone though it'll be Varric; I'm really kind of tired of that guy. BUT his cameo in the latest trailer was nice, so I think I'll still like him enough.
By the way, speaking of romancing inanimate objects.......
I don't like every companion, but they're usually all there to represent a viewpoint that adds something to the world and the overall story. There are some that don't look especially appealing to me as people, but calling them a "waste" is pretty rude to their fans and especially to their creators.
