first of all, Elu, you psycho, I meant his class not his companion status.
secondly, ares, see above.
That's what I meant, I don't think they're gonna change his class

Don't mess with my Warrior Warden, Div... ![]()
no one has said he was a warrior though, until it's confirmed I'm not going to assume that's the final answer, if one at all.
I think it's possible that the warden could have been changed to a rogue, but I'm not sure we really have a good reason to think they'd have taken it that far with him as a warrior and then changed their mind.
i just think we shouldn't assume anything is final until it is ~*~final~*~
I can't imagine while in pre-alpha it takes up that many resources to begin with
Well considering the GW as a warrior looked like a big dude, turning him into a rogue would require a model change along with changing his skills
not really? if a qunari can be a rogue why can't a big guy?

I still think it makes sense that either Cullen or the warden will be an NPC, because we know there's going to be a base (Skyhold) and we're probably going to have to have it staffed. Leliana and the scribe girl are most likely on this, but there's nobody that looks like they could manage troop deployment or anything like this. We know setting up camps with troops is a thing we have to do. It's not necessarily the correct assumption, but it looks to me like the most likely thing is that either the warden or Cullen will be in this role.
The only character that I don't see as a feasible (or desirable) romance is Varric due to his obsession with Bianca.
imo the GW could be a Rogue, everything was pre-alpha and we haven't had any confirmation on classes except for known companions.
I hadn't considered this. I'd enjoy seeing him as a rogue.

I know a lot of people disagree with me, but I really feel like the Warden would fit the advisor role much better than Cullen, if the two are competing for this spot.

I don't know, guys. I'm trying to be objective, but I just can't see Cullen as the most likely companion/third warrior.
-Warden was a warrior in the leaked survey and was paired with Cassandra, both armed.
-Cullen was unarmed in the leaked survey, paired with Scribe Girl, who is probably an NPC.
-Warden was a warrior in the armor examples.
-Cullen was in the war room, where there were companions, but likely also the advisory team.
-Warden was seen with the party as a warrior.
-Cassandra and Vivienne already offer the Chantry/Circle perspective.
It's obviously speculation, but from what we know, I think Cullen as an NPC seems more likely right now. The only thing we have to go on that he'd be a companion is that he's a LI, but other Bioware games have NPC romances, so it doesn't mean a lot.

Preach, Mortie, Preach!!!!!!
See, I don't want DA to be a "dating sim," but I could stand for a bit of payoff for romances. Like, romancing in DAO might affect one's choice as to how to approach the endgame, but I'd like to see quests that one gets by romancing specific characters.

Counter-points:
- The leaked survey is said to be outdated, and that several things were changed in it, including companions. If Dorian is in, and the Iron Bull is in, then who is out? Cole? Who replaces him?
- Fair point, but Cullen is in full armor. Also, the male Inquisitor appears to have no weapons either, just a strange glowing hand that seems to tie into the Inquisitor's ability to close the Fade Tears. (The tears share the same green color, and the female Inquisitor has same glowy hand and as well as a melee weapon.)
- Those images are quite old, and things could have changed, perhaps even by then, and they simply wished to use the art.
- The advisory team is based on a separate leak which has not seemed to hold up to the test of time, and the closest mention we've had of these advisors comes from screenshots of PAX, where a nondescript "General" advises the Inquisitor on what he could do with a captured Keep via text box. Hardly LI material. Also, there are two characters which seem to be NPC's in that image already. Cullen is also in some semblance of armor in the picture.
- The video was pre-alpha, and things could have changed. In fact, an article written for the same Gameinformer series spoke of how the team was not afraid to "take a bomb to a character" if they were not fitting in. Also, DG tweeted about having to rewrite a companion from the ground up.
- Cullen may not be pro-Chantry, and could be a purely pro-templar perspective.
I lean more towards Cullen being an NPC, but it's hardly impossible that he might a Warrior companion. ![]()

-I don't think any companions were necessarily cut from the survey. Maybe they were, maybe they weren't.
-It's just a guess that the placement and lack of weapons could mean anything, I admit.
-Anything could have changed, but we're all just guessing and based on the evidence we have, I don't see a reason to suspect it's changed.
-The leak about the red templars as big bads suggested three advisors with Leliana as one, but the theories were also largely based on the fact that early reports said there'd be three specialties for the bases. (military force, espionage, trade) This combines with collecting agents and growing the Skyhold. The leak included the idea, but it's not been the only reason people suggest it. It's not what made me think it was likely.
-Again, change is possible, but relying on the evidence we have, I think expecting it is the riskier move. There's no evidence that a change was made.
-I don't see the pro-templar perspective as particularly different or important to represent, but this is a personal opinion, I'll admit. It seems even less important to me than having a mage on hand from every fraternity.
I agree it's possible that Cullen is a companion. It's possible that both Cullen and the Warden are both NPCs, too. Anything that's not officially confirmed is possible. Even then, Gaider says that they don't mind changing things after they're confirmed, so I guess nothing is certain until the game ships. This is all speculation, I think we're all agreed.
1. Cullen, Cassandra, Iron Bull and Sera.
What makes you think Iron Bull? I just ask because most people seem to say Solas or DHMG for the possible male slots.
