Kaidan in ME and Sebastian were both clean-shaven.  Unless you meant just m/m LIs, then no.

Maybe we could have a bearded dwarf or qunari to balance out the elf hairlessness.  Or, you know, just no elf option for once.....?

Ah I forgot about Seb! And I was just talking Dragon Age.

Saemus and Ashaad from DA2.  We've already had some m/m Qunari (implied) romance.  We will see.

I know that Gaider has recently confirmed that Saemus was not straight, but I have to say that I never really picked up a m/m vibe from Saemus and Ashaad.  I guess it was intended and just really subtle.  I usually sniff these things out pretty quickly.  I picked up on Julien and Nicolas (in The Calling) in their second scene.

It's true. But aside from being "a slap in the face" towards traditional qunari, we don't know anything about Iron Bull's personality. He could well be gay, or bisexual, or asexual.

Like I said, that would be great. I'm simply going off of a feeling here. We don't know much of anything about him. Just that he's got one eye and he's Tal-Vashoth. But we don't know WHY he's Tal-Vashoth or at what age he decided to go rebel. He may reject the Qun but that doesn't mean he see's purpose in romantic relationships. It's difficult to figure this guy out so prematurely. We haven't had a whole lot of Tal-Vashoth experience in the games. For all we know he may understand and accept certain parts of the Qun...

Well to be fair, we know this:

The Iron Bull- The Iron Bull is a long way from home, and he prefers it that way. A slap in the face of typically humorless Qunari(Kossith), he loves drinking, killing and looting- but not necessarily in that order. The head of a vicious mercenary company, he’s known for excellent pay and brutal punishment. It’s been a decade-long party, but the Bull may find that old loyalties die hard.”

I kinda view Saemus had an attraction to Ashaad, but not the other way around tbh

I totally never saw Saemus and Ashaad as gay when I was playing the first time. Went TOTALLY over my head. I only consider it a thing now because I saw Gaider say it was implied on the forum.

I wonder if they would ever do a companion that was down for casual sex, but would never progress into a romantic relationship as we know it. That's kind of what I would expect from Iron Bull, if they'd do something like that.

I think Jack is the closest to that.  You can sleep with her immediately for carnal desire's sake, and the romance cannot be progressed beyond that.

I think it could be interesting to have have a fling or two available with non-LI companions, if written with a purpose and offered something to roleplay and the character companion.

But really, I'd like it if all of our companions had flirt options available for roleplay's sake (a la Aveline/Morinth/Samara/etc).  Even if Warden might not be an LI, maybe my PC wants to have the option to flirt.  From there, they could get turned down and Warden could have the opportunity to talk about the Calling, and thus why he's not interested in getting into a relationship.  Or flirt with Vivienne and she could say, "Woah, there, I got a man back home.  We met during my time as... *cue story*"  Basically, flirt options can double-duty by allowing us the chance to roleplay if we choose, as well as be a jumping off point for characters to get into depth.

See, I always read it as Saemus being an idealistic, rebellious young man of privilege who fell in love with the exotic nature of the Qun and wanted to be part of it.  I never really saw his relationship with Ashaad as romantic.  I just replayed that stuff this past week and, even knowing the intentions, outside of the "We were both looking for something" line, I still don't see it.  I accept Gaider's word on it, but I just didn't see it myself.

Fair enough. We're all going off gut instinct. My instinct on Iron Bull is that, whether he's straight, gay, or bi, he's a person of tremendous appetites.

In regards to the Seamus discussion, I will say that it was always fairly obvious to me that Seamus had romantic feelings for Ashaad. It's impossible to know whether those feelings were reciprocated, though.

Lol, normally that stuff goes right over my head, but this is the one time I got it on the first runthrough.

Yeah, I'm not buying it. "Lolol I bet you like Qunari dick" is not a 'subtle hint'. If it sounds like something a schoolyard bully would say, it's not representation.  <_<

I just remember seeing a dev conversation about Qunari romances a while back about how Qunari would be more likely to have casual sex and friendships than romantic relationships, even after they left the Qun, due to it being such a long-term, culturally hardwired thing. Basically like humans and monogamy being the majority go-to, whether they're religious, or philosophical, etc. So, I wonder if maybe that couldn't be represented with Iron Bull. It could even be a chance for him to explain the way they usually do things, if you say you want things to be more traditional, and they could use it as an opportunity to build on his culture. I think it could work well, if handled right.

I don't know if they'd actually invest in doing something like this, though. They might just stop with flirt/rebuff options for non-LI companions, or keep with the no options at all method.

I picked it up right away when I played through the first time.  Granted, I am someone that prowls for subtext in media.  I wasn't completely certain, though, until Gaider confirmed Saemus.  I think it was far too subtle and went over many people's heads.

That doesn't mean he's gay, though. Or even bisexual. Sure, he doesn't follow the Qun. That doesn't mean he enjoys the D, though.

Again, we will see. But I personally think he will be a very exclusive LI.

I see him as being like Isabella, Oghren, or Zevran.  He's the group partier.  He's outgoing and does things because they're fun.

Because the mercenary lady basically throws that at Saemus as an insult. She implies they were sexually involved in a negative tone, not so much in a homophobic way as in a racist/anti-Qunari way, imo.

Yes they do. While tone means more, the words someone uses does indeed matter some.

That is how i read that as well. They hate the Qunari.

We know the system: set sexuality.

As for things like numbers, no.
