It's not that bad given the context. Miranda seems to be struggling because she doesn't think she deserves to be loved, or something like that. So "you want it" is more like "what are you afraid of?".

I know a gay guy who didn't like the Kaidan romance either, but it was because he kind of felt like Kaidan was just... how did he put it?
Forcing a relationship because he didn't want to die single, or something along those lines. He didn't get the sense that Kaidan's expression of interest was genuine, basically.
Personally, I do not like it when romance content differs drastically between genders. I don't see why a same-sex relationship should or would progress any differently from a heterosexual one. We're gays, not Martians.

That's because there's literally no female LIs that are as unpopular as Jacob, regardless of the gender. Jacob was very unpopular with female and male players. It is likely that the devs thought that not many people would mind him not being an LI again. I can't blame them, the contempt toward Jacob ( and the results in the surveys were astonishing ) was so ovherwhelming that I'd think myself it wasn't worth it to waste resources for him lol.
I liked Jacob, but I hated, with a capital H the way they had Shepard talk to him like a cat in heat. That stopped me from continuing to talk to him for ages. I eventually wanted to see what it was like and just turned the sound off till later in the game. It was ok.
But I'm a die hard Kaidan fan, and since they didn't have any kind of DR, most all of my romances were with him. I did the others to see what they were like. I liked Garrus' romance but I adore him as my best friend who blows things up with me, and found Thane rather sweet. The one that surprised me the most was how much I enjoyed Jack with paragon Shepard.
I'm pretty sure I'll find all of the romances interesting. DA2 was my least favorite group, but even these had their moments.

I don't see why dialogue would really be different between genders. I don't think my conversations with my boyfriend are particularly gendered.
I don't talk to boys a lot, but from my observations, I understand that sentences are punctuated by high fives?

Now if he had sounded like oh Gilbert Gottfried or "Bobcat" Goldthwait. I find both of them funny, but would not be interested in a LI voiced by either of them. 
I really wish my brother would post on these boards to offer his thoughts. He recently said he feels like the only gay man who did not like Kaidan/mShep. He said despite the fact that mShep had originally been planned to have a m/m ship since the first game it felt like fan service to him and he wished the mshep/Kaidan dialogue had been different than it was for femShep/Kaidan. It just really disappointed him.
He liked his Cortez playthrough better and enjoyed his playthrough as a femShep romancing Garrus.
He has an account here...I have been BEGGING him to post since he reads the boards and I can tell he wants to reply to some of these posts but he doesn't want the backlash for his ideas being different.
Maybe I will try bribing him to post.
If there wasn't the Kaidan romance for fShep then there probably wouldn't be one for mShep. They wouldn't have written his romance just to be a gay romance. He was dead for a lot of people. New male player characters got Ashley instead of him by default. He was romanceable by female player characters anyway and it took little effort to make him available to male player characters as well. I would like to think they only did that to make up for the fact that there never was a gay romance option in any previous Mass Effect. Whatever the gay romance option would be, it wouldn't be the same as some of the other romances spanning two or even three games. So investing little time and effort to make Kaidan, who we know from the first game, romanceable by male Shepards was an attempt to make up for that. In reality they might have done it just because it was easily done and there was no reason not to.

Yup, same here. I just stopped talking to Jacob out of fear and the constant queasy feeling in my stomach... I'm always for Kaidan too and like you I also tried romancing Garrus but it's just doesn't feel right, he's my best friend..it was like flirting with my brother (if I had one..). Gave up, too much face pulling on my part..
