I don't think I've ever gotten male Hawke passed act 1. Just can't take his beard seriously and I don't care for any of the CC options in DA2.

SWTOR I think my first was male sorc. Dat voice. <3 Him and male agent are unf.

Oh man, I love the manquisitor. He cracks me up. <3 I am a fan of the male SW too (the lady SW is one of my favorite voices of the ladies, though). Man Trooper is a little odd since it's Varric, but given I was tired of Commander Shepard, I picked a dude one over the lady one anyway. :P

I disagree with what has been said earlier. I've seen enough people months ago saying that no female lis appealed to them. So the " all women are hot " is definitely a matter of perspective. There were people that don't find Cassandra or Vivienne attractive or both. You all think that Cassandra is hot ? I don't. I'm not at all physically attracted to her and it's possible that if she's straight, only Scribe girl could physically appeal to me, meaning the npc romance.

So " they are all traditionnally attractive " won't actually do a damn thing to someone that doesn't think they are attractive.

Fortunately, I'm not too focalised on the appearance, so I might fall in love with Cassandra for her personality as I did with Morrigan.

yaasss slay the nonsense in this thread

I think it's beyond foolish to lump everyone together. Just because someone has an opinion doesn't mean we all do.

I'll join ya in the unpopular club... I LOVED his voice! I thought it suited him very well, particularly a sarcastic Hawke.

I'm also in the (apparent) minority when it comes to that voice. In general, I think Boulton did a better job at having a consistent tone throughout his different personalities, so it didn't feel like he went insane in-between sentences.

Huh? I've seen nearly as much f/f Cass as I have m/f Cass.

The same.

I'm glad I have no problem playing either gender.

I wish I could do that.

Yes he nails his funny lines where femquisitor just...flounders. (She's a bit better at axe wielding  psycho though so there's that but I like funny crazy LS Inq more.)

XD I can't play trooper. Don't like male or female too much. (Also the story is almost as snooze inducing as the consular one D: )

Yeah you could switch them up and not sound like he had MPD. (though I liked that for my fem SW. Her being all nurturing one moment then a rampaging ball of rage the next fit her well plus her evil lines were beautifully hammy at times). That and most of her evil lines were just good really <3 I love female SW VA so much.

But, but, but, but.... the Male Trooper is voiced by Brian Bloom!  :o I do agree that the story isn't that great tho.

I do think her monologue is better than Boulton's.

I prefer a silent protagonist.  I always will for roleplaying purposes.  I've spilled plenty of my opinion blood on those discussions, here, on the forums, over the last six plus years, so I'll spare going into that further.  I did not like either Lady Hawke or DudeHawke's voices.  I disliked them equally as much.  The choice of VO per gender for Inquisition is interesting.

This. I sure hope their voices will be more less neutral like Shepard's was

I don't have an issue playing a male character (I've grown up playing mostly male characters in games since there weren't usually options). But if there's a choice, I'll play female. If it's a Bioware game, I'll play female. Jade Empire was the first time I got to play out a F/F romance in-game, and it was one of the most beautiful moments in gaming for me. There were some games that "hinted" at relationships that I had played, but none were like JE. Ever since then, if the LI is available to both genders I never, never, never play out that romance with a male character. When I do play the male version of the PC, I tend to play M/F romances that are restricted to them...but they never feel as amazing as the F/F ones to me. Mind you, that isn't because they aren't well done or well written. I still enjoy them for what they are...I'm just not as attached to the story and it's not as personal for me. The same when I play female characters romancing male ones. It's sort of like watching a movie instead of participating in it. So yeah, I can be moved by what I see but never to the same degree as the F/F pairings.

One of the few exceptions to my all-female romancing is that I did play out the Kaidan romance with M/M. I think I mostly did that because I liked Kaidan's character a lot and thought he was the best fit for my male PC.

And can I just say, if Mister Mustache is bi or gay I will likely be playing out his romance arch with a male PC instead of female. Mind you, that will probably be fifth/sixth playthrough territory...long after I've romanced Sera/Cass/Vivienne (if they are all LI's). As for which males I would be most likely to romance as a female character, I would say Iron Bull with a female qunari PC warrior.

Heh.  While I am looking forward to romancing both Cullen and Cass, and starting to fret about picking the wrong gender to catch their eye (this going along the lines of 'manomanomanoman they better not retcon Cullen gay.  They can't, can they? Sure they can.  Why would they? Do they NEED a reason?) I have to remind myself of my first DA2 playthough.  See, I was SURE I was going to romance Anders.  That was the plan - romance Anders as a rogue (because I always play rogue first) then Fenris as a mage for maximum pain, then figure out the other two if I felt like it.

Then Fenris made his entrance and my whole (gaming) world went sideways and Anders had to wait on my second playthrough.

I am kind of hoping something like that will happen again, but this is the real reason set sexualities leave me a little sick to my stomach.  I am SURE I will pick the wrong gender.

"Ooooo, I want THAT one!  ....  Whaddaya mean, I'm missing a part?"

I tried to give it a go I did but nope. No could do. and now if I try I hear Brynn and get annoyed.

XD It's not bad but I got too used to Fem SW, male agent and male SI. Also god male Consular was really phoning it in. Female is better but I'm not overly fond of either.

I'll confess, I'll never do a FemShepTrooper playthrough. While it did inspire a mental fanfic Star Wars/Mass Effect crossover, I couldn't stand another morally holier-than-the-world light side/paragon experience.

Same here. I liked the smuggler the most, she had some golden lines.

I never play dudes, it feels so weird to me playing a dude and romancing a girl... and if i ever do a dude, i'll go and romance another male instead.

Though, the fact that there are 95% of games that have dudes as protagonists, makes it even worse. >.>

Also, guys, be nice to ladyHawke....  :P

And sassyMarian is the best Hawke.

Snarky Hawke is really the only Hawke I enjoy playing DA2 with. He makes the absurdity not that bad.

Aggressive Hawke is useful to. If you spend the earlier part of the game unreasonably picking sides rather than trying to compromise or do the nice thing constantly, the later unreasonableness of everyone fits better. There's no confusion or disconnect about losing those Third Way moments when you're openly secretarian from the start.

Yep.  I totally feel you with this.  Sky was the first m/m romance for me too.  It really was a game changer.  I was like, "Wait?!?  Why hasn't this been available from the beginning!?!" And now I just can't (and don't feel I should have to) go back.

I am kind of hoping something like that will happen again, but this is the real reason set sexualities leave me a little sick to my stomach.  I am SURE I will pick the wrong gender.

"Ooooo, I want THAT one!  ....  Whaddaya mean, I'm missing a part?"

Yep, this is the whole reason why I just wish they would announce the LI's and the sexualities ahead of time so that we can stop worrying and start planning.  Unlike the other aspects of the story, I like to plan for the romance.  I'm really afraid that I'll end up creating a character that isn't what I'd like to see given the romances that are available to me.  I'll roll with it if that happens, but I'd rather be spoiled on that one aspect so I can prepare my character accordingly.

You know I have to agree that they should just release a list like that already.

Like what 5 more months of waiting and building up?

Sure fine way to start a forum war.

Then again people will just come in at launch and complain as well.

"I CANT HAVE TEH SEXS WITH TEH CHARACTER I WANTED? TEH RAGE!"

Its going to happen no matter what now.
