I think the worst part of the whole DR thing is how they sexified the scene with it. When I choose to do it, I skip the cut-scene because I find it terribly gross as Alistair isn't really keen on the whole thing.
It may be how I designed my male Warden's face, but he just has a look of pretty much sheer terror when it happens.

I really wish it had been gender flipped. As it is it's brushed off often with the customary "oh it's a hot chick and all dudes wanna have sex with hot chicks." type of attitude.
I mean, in that context, I'm glad the genders weren't reversed. There need to be more conversations that highlight that double standard/messed up and wildly harmful stereotype you mentioned.

I really hope they're not race restricted. While I do plan on playing both of those races I kind of like the height differences caused if I romanced varric as a qunari or IB as a dwarf.
I actually had weird fantasy about romancing Varric as a fem Qunari, if only for the giggles... but in my head she also has a Russian accent for some reason... I'm sorry but that visual just brings me much joy...the comedy...

True reminds me of when I was watching this youtube vid of a guy that got molested by his teacher and he mentioned the stereotype and the end man he looked so sad

I modded the DR, the cutscene almost feels like a BW punishment for making it happen... before modding I just minimised the window and did something else...

But yeah I don't want another DR. Once was disgusting enough. Even if it takes all my PC's gold him/her being horribly scarred and losing a piece of his/her soul I rather get that then the whole "lol sex or die" bs.
And now I kind of want the PC to lose his/her soul then have a timed mission to get it back. And you can only get it back by scarificing something your PC holds dear (LI, personal power, so on). Curse you BG.

I've seen threads get locked over the Alistair/DR is maybe rapey discussion before, so maybe lets try to steer away from it and back towards Inquisition LIs? I agree it is kind of a double standard and not handled well, but maybe try making a new thread if you want to debate it, because I'm a little worried about this one getting locked. Sorry.

What is so hard to understand? If stopping the blight is the priority then you shouldn't complain about your loved ones dying in the process, if you want to save them you shouldn't complain about the fact that you have to cheat on them. The whole situation is there only because you are trying to stop the blight.

Agreed.I'm hoping we'll get Cullen and Scribbles as NPC LIs and they'll both be bi for overall fairness/symmetry issues.

That's right. Now that I think of it, it seems to me that GW will be straight, DHMG will be gay, and Solas will be bisexual like Cullen and Scribbles. If it's true, then straight females will have 3 options, and gay males will have 3 options as well. It would be quite fair.
what I'm curious is if the romance will have an equal amount of dialogue/scene/importance, or some will be "unromance", like Sebastian. I didn't find him enought interesting to try his romance, but the few people I know who have tried it where quite disappointed (it was a caste relationship, righ?) for the rest, I find usually DA relationship to be quite well made in fact of contenct.
not so much in ME3, where some romance where quite crippled (like Thane and most of ME2 romance) at least before Citadel, 
and others had much more content (like Liara)

That would be a good system, I think. A lot of people don't think we'll get that many LIs, though. It's strongly expected that there will only be 6, not 8. Which would mean out of Dorian/Solas/Warden, one wouldn't be available as an LI and the other two would be gay/straight.
What I think is likely is;
Bi - Cullen
Gay - Dorian
Straight - Solas

I'm personally do not like symmetry that much. It's not realistic (to use the ev0l word), it makes the whole thing looks quite artificial with all the little boxes being arranged the exact same way on both side.

that's what I had read too. but it was some time ago. 
I hope for the chance to speak when we want to the companions, like in ME1/2 and DAO, without "appointment" as in DA2 or ME3...sometimes I find cute to listen again some dialogue. expecially after a long pause from the game.

If I'm remember this right, I believe the last news on this was that you would be able to talk to them about anything the story had unlocked thus far whenever you wanted, but only at certain places. I assume camps and/or Skyhold. Basically, I think it'll be like Origins was, except you'll probably have to wait for "camp" to talk instead of being able to do so out in the field whenever.
It's actually fine with me, because I ended up accidentally talking to companions all the time while trying to loot bodies or disarm traps. It got kind of annoying. lol
