You aren't a hanar, sure you don't ;)
*watches Cullen thread and fan art, fan fiction*
But you won't convince me bioware fans don't care about sex, never

We are players and now Hawke. We are supposed to know, otherwise there wouldn't be a discussion

I don't. Most playthroughs I don't romance anyone.

Of course they do. But Bioware fans also care about characters for more than their sex organs.

No, if you are truly roleplaying you put yourself in Hawke's shoes. A Female Hawke does not know Fenris can also be romanced by a Male Hawke. All she knows is he is attracted to her. If you start another character, they don't know what the previous one does.

With the Revan thing -- I didn't like that Revan was a man. I didn't like that none of the characters really got closure (Mission and Big Z opened up a shop? Really??). I didn't like that the Exile was reduced to this weak little school girl with a crush that is killed off like a minor side-character. I didn't like that Revan was a boss fight. I REALLY didn't like that book. I waited almost a decade for an ending for the characters that I grew up with, and it was bad.

It wasn't real. It was just an elaborate set up to deceive the characters you play as.  :?

The fact that she is your slave is enough. Even if you're a nice master who treats her with respect you're still her master and that's too much for me. Yeah, you could be a douche to the LIs in other games and even kill them, but at the end of the day they make their own decisions and are their own people. Vette is yours.

In the empire the alternative of her belonging to the SW was a horrible death either in those pens, by Baras or by the SW. Being the partner (you can only romance her once you take off the collar) of a powerful Sith Lord is far safer than her previous position. Not to mention the SW is either amused by her or cares about her enough not to off her immediately. It's not the best position but in the crapsack SWTOR world as a non force sensitive twi'lek in the empire it's decent.

Ashara is in much the same position though she doesn't have a collar (god I hate that [Let the Ghost Kill Ashara] then lol no choice). She's pretty much stuck living on the SI's whims.

(Hell depending on how you play your Sith characters this can be almost your entire crew). I think the Sith companions are just masochists. Revel even comes with you if you shock the crap out of him beforehand.

Since we're talking about babies, let me ask those who are using it as an argument something:

In Mass Effect, Ashley and Jack are two straight female LIs who never bring up the prospect of them getting pregnant. Are they more shallow in terms of romance content because of it?

The point is not that every romance will have to have a discussion about babies. The point is that there might be romances that have that kind of content which makes them richer. It makes romances more different and when you have a romance where such discussions doesn't exist you might think it's a nice change. I wouldn't want romances to be the same every time.

Yeah this.

If you want to have a equal relationship with your companions play a Jedi or a non sith. Sith's whole stick is being superior.

I wasn't. I haven't actually played the game. I'm just going off of what I've seen and read. What I've seen and read is bad, but I'm starting to realize thanks to Ryzaki and others that maybe what I've seen and read isn't enough. I'll look into it and see for myself.

Wasn't it a pre-release confirmation that Revan was canonically male (same with Exile being female)?

But anyway, I actually didn't have a problem with Revan outside of how they handled him in the book and the Empire Flashpoint

Hetereosexual couples only have a risk of pregnacy if they choose to have one particular kind of sex, which IMO isn't even that great. It literally adds nothing to the game other than the opportunity have a chat that goes something like "So, how do you feel about oral sex? It's awesome! Great, let's just keep doing that".

Maybe the heterosexual couple want to have that particular kind of sex but they can't do it because there are risks. So they might discuss should they do it anyway.

Sith relationships aren't equal. I'll say that now. The Sith is always in the position of power. Even in the Revel mance (it's not as blatant as SW's relationships but it's there). The SW can be emotionally and physically abusive to his/her partners or just emotionally manipulative. (Though Quinn really earned his ass beating and he damn wells knows it). And honestly playing a racist SW romancing Vette has it's odd charms. "Why are you always like this? Putting people down?" or something similar and he responds "I'm Sith Vette I can't help what I am." lol

Then again I love dysfunctional relationships in fiction. That really didn't stop me from going wtf to Jaesa though. I guess cause she was so over the top insane and I was too used to her LS self.

@Ares: ~lalalalala~ to confirmation of Revan being a dude. Nope. Those are lies. She pretended to be a dude to hide her identity. No one can take that from me! :crying:

She isn't your slave if you take the collar off and let her be her. Seriously, did you even play the game? Not once during my play through of the Sith Warrior did I refer to her as a slave. My character made it very clear that she was free to go whenever she felt like it. Seriously, does the subject of slavery offend you? Why are you even here? Slavery exists in Dragon Age. You can do cruel things to companions and NPCs in Dragon Age. Your argument makes no sense, not as someone with a DA avatar on a DA forum.

Revan is a man, get over it. Just like the Warden is a Dalish elf. Besides, the Revan quests are optional. If his presence in the game offends you are goes against whatever it is you had in mind for him, simply skip it.

And the Exile is hardly weak.

Besides, we didn't get an ending to Revan's story. He kinda just vanishes at the end of the boss fight. Seriously though... You seem to get way too attached to characters that aren't even yours. You play as them and make decisions for them during the events of one game. Then it's back in Bioware's hands.

Not every character is going to have the ending you want them to have.

Just on this part, that's the preset for people that don't have an import, but I don't believe they ever intended to change the race of the warden for people that do have imports.

Yea, difference between DA and SW is that DA doesn't have a set canon while SW does

"Ass beating"? That's... an interesting choice of words. I suppose it makes sense that the SW is always the top.  ;)

I get that. What I don't get is why they can't simply put that into the character's heterosexual path for lack of a better term. For example, DHMG can bring it up if romancing a female but not with a male.

Pfft of course SW's always the top. Quinn's such a bottom~

And now I have bad mental images involving Baras  BRAIN BLEACH.

As Rico said you can play your SW as nice and (IMO overly) trusting and release her once you hit the fleet the first time and do the whole partners thing (which felt ridiculous even on my uber LS Sith. Letting her go in the first conversation is unnecessary to do the romance so I usually do it after Balmorra or Nar so my Sith feels like he's has enough time to get to know her and her knowledge of his weaknesses (letting enemies live when he shouldn't, helping people he really ought to ignore) isn't going to blow up in his face. But either way your Sith is gonna do...welp questionable things <3

To connect this to romances...I do hope sex sexualities doesn't mean o/s romances will lock into baby talk. And I really hope we don't get patronizing crap like Corso with male smug and fem smug.

I covered that in my Sith romances are as crazy as the Sith is comment :P That and masochists everywhere.

Seriously who first thinks to mention if your relationship is still going strong after being nearly killed after trying to kill someone? Who's brain actually works like that?

I can just imagine my sith going "well we said til death do we part and neither of us are dead so guess we're good." I love my sith but they're insane. LS, DS doesn't matter they're all insane.

Though LS SI is the best kind of insane.

...and now I'm wondering if we can forgive the "Judas" if he/she is an LI and if it'll be similar XD

Hey, you were here trashing the game in several different posts. And most of what you were saying was ridiculous. Especially after you announced that you never even played the game. Also you seem incredibly sensitive and I simply do not understand how you are a fan of Bioware games. But hey, move on if you wish.
