Pfft of course SW's always the top. Quinn's such a bottom~

And now I have bad mental images involving Baras  BRAIN BLEACH.

As Rico said you can play your SW as nice and (IMO overly) trusting and release her once you hit the fleet the first time and do the whole partners thing (which felt ridiculous even on my uber LS Sith. Letting her go in the first conversation is unnecessary to do the romance so I usually do it after Balmorra or Nar so my Sith feels like he's has enough time to get to know her and her knowledge of his weaknesses (letting enemies live when he shouldn't, helping people he really ought to ignore) isn't going to blow up in his face. But either way your Sith is gonna do...welp questionable things <3

To connect this to romances...I do hope sex sexualities doesn't mean o/s romances will lock into baby talk. And I really hope we don't get patronizing crap like Corso with male smug and fem smug.

I wouldn't have it any other way.

I don't know why, but I could see Dorian being patronizing. I hope he's not. He's so pretty. It would be tragic.

I covered that in my Sith romances are as crazy as the Sith is comment :P That and masochists everywhere.

Seriously who first thinks to mention if your relationship is still going strong after being nearly killed after trying to kill someone? Who's brain actually works like that?

I can just imagine my sith going "well we said til death do we part and neither of us are dead so guess we're good." I love my sith but they're insane. LS, DS doesn't matter they're all insane.

Though LS SI is the best kind of insane.

...and now I'm wondering if we can forgive the "Judas" if he/she is an LI and if it'll be similar XD

All my Sith were practical lol

It really depends. Patronizing in general to both genders would be annoying but I would get much glee off making him eat crow.

Patronizing because of my PCs gender will still make me want him to eat crow but would be significantly more annoying. It would also lose a lot of the amusement factor it'd have if it was for both gendered inqs.

Pfft you can be insanely practical ;) that's what my LS SI usually was. Especially on Balmorra. I love how stupefied the doctor gets if you let him go. LS SI gets the best reactions.

All LIs are the Judas in BioWare games.   ;)

Really, it could be interesting if you had multiple betrayers or a mutiny in your Inquisition ranks.  Depending on choices, of course.

I get that. What I don't get is why they can't simply put that into the character's heterosexual path for lack of a better term. For example, DHMG can bring it up if romancing a female but not with a male.

Hmm. Yes that is possible. It can be handled that way too. But the other point was that your gender matters and if discussing with babies when you are both gay then the discussion is a little bit different comparing if the couple is heterosexual. The gay couple could talk about adoption while most likely heterosexual couple will talk about getting the woman pregnant.

Yeah. I'm hoping that the "walk away and end the conversation while the NPC is speaking" feature works with companions too so I could just walk off if I don't like what the companion is saying. It's hard to condescend an Inquisitor that isn't there.

What if they have something like Iron Bull being Judas because he doesn't think a woman can lead or something =/ that would suck.

It would pass for a gender different though :X

Nah you're probably gonna be locked into the convo like always. You'll probably be able to say something suitably insulting in response though.

They can do that during the homosexual path.

So what was your problem? I'm just trying to understand.

They could also do the adoption, natural birth (with a surrogate if s/s romance or hell even maybe in the o/s romance if your PC can't have kids for whatever reason or wrong species), and no kids regardless of gender

I know my femQunari reaction to kids is probably gonna run screaming in the opposite direction (assuming she can even have kids with an elven/human man).

My problem is that there is no real good reason for characters to have a set sexuality. It limits options for players and anything like gender specific conversations, such as children, can just be programmed to occur just depending on the PC's gender.

Ok. I thought that we were talking about this

Since we're talking about babies, let me ask those who are using it as an argument something:

In Mass Effect, Ashley and Jack are two straight female LIs who never bring up the prospect of them getting pregnant. Are they more shallow in terms of romance content because of it?

That question was more a tool to see if people thought the romances who didn't talk about children were more shallow than those that did.

Doesn't Miranda say she can't conceive when she talks about her backstory?

I wouldn't say that a lack of baby talk makes them shallow, but I don't think the subject is as necessary in the ME world because the ME world has birth control. Has there been any mention of a form of contraception mentioned in DA?

Yeah. Wynne says it exists.

No. You only learn that Miranda is sterile in LotSB by reading the info on her.

Yes, DA has birth control methods.

I'm personally do not like symmetry that much. It's not realistic (to use the ev0l word), it makes the whole thing looks quite artificial with all the little boxes being arranged the exact same way on both side.

Just to be clear, when I read this I see that you also would prefer that we do not have symmetry for class specializations, talent trees, class/race quests, class/race reactivity, or even class specific conflict resolution?

Yeppers.

And seeing as how Hawke's a noble or a gang member for most of the game I'm sure he/she doesn't find it prudent to start a family with the Qunari threat looming or Meredith breathing down their neck. And the Warden's practically sterile.

So yeah...makes perfect sense baby talk isn't on the table. (Kind of boggles me how the LIs bring it up that aren't Morrigan. With her you could justify it with her using magic to maximize the little fertility the warden does have but with the rest of the LIs (Zev in particular) it should be "Wardens are pretty much incapable of having babies."

Please explain this to me. How in the world do you know for a fact that quality will suffer if there are more LIs, or if they open up the LIs that they do have to more people.

Romance content to us is considered optional.  If we write romance content for all the characters, it will come at the expense of other type of content.  Either we'll reduce the non-romance content, or we'll reduce the romance content.

I'm sure it wasn't your intention, but to say that there is no good reason to setting sexuality so is to say that there is no value in Inquisition having explicitly gay party members. It's just not true. Likewise, that line about Bioware 'limiting options' for the players is manifestly false when one considers that every player is every bit as able to experience romantic content as any other.
