My problem isn't about losing options and i'm fairly sure we'll get equal romance options (and i've accepted the romance system anyway).
My problem is who will be available to me. I'm scared of being stuck with romances i'm not interested in.

My problem is getting stuck with a 'lesbian npc option' yet again. I don't care beyond that. I like the three female companions well enough.
I thought his point was more along the lines that no one is really losing any options. It's been confirmed everyone will get at least two choices, which is the same everyone got in DA2.
We have no confirmation of how the system works, so I don't want to assume anything yet. He's saying that "only" two out of three (assuming there are three of each gender, split 2/2/2, which we don't know yet) is good enough, and it *could* be, but what I'm saying is that it's not a numbers game for me. If the most interesting character is not available to my character to romance, I'm not going to be sad because I'm greedy and want to bone every npc. I'll be sad because there's a chance that I'm not going to play any romances at all, if I don't like the ones that are written for my character's gender.
I'll always be sad that Viconia, Bastila, Ashley, Morrigan, and Miranda were unromancable by my female player characters. Even though I had other choices, it was quality, not quantity, that I cared about. We'll see how it works in DA:I, but I don't want to be told to be satisfied just because I got two choices, whatever they may be.

No one can promise you'll like the choices you'll get. There's no guarantee of that. They could have half a dozen romanceable female characters and you might still hate them all. So I'd say it is a numbers game. The same goes for everyone.

Yeah, would prefer Vivienne being the lesbian option. Or Sera, if Viv isn't LI.

But the devs don't randomly choose their characters sexual orientations, I assume. It will be very deliberate if, for instance, Cassandra is with our characters for most of the game, has most involvement with the main plot, and is romanceable by male player characters only. In that case, having two other choices, especially if one is a non-companion, and the other is less involved in the main plot and optional, will feel lesser, at least to me.

I think Sera has a pretty good chance of being a lesbian option. Not sure about Vivi. Maybe she'll be a straight or bi option.
Lots of maybes...

How is Naruto connected to the Indoctrination theory

The IT part is the thing tripping people up

Pretty much this. That's why Cass is the most desirable romance (for ladies and guys).

Why not Viv? Sera has the most chance of being bi tbh.

Most people don't assume all three will be LIs. The numbers don't work out well. With Cullen as an NPC romance, there'd have to be 8 to make the distribution fair, which is unlikely.
Maybe they'll surprise us. I just don't want to get stuck with the NPC. >.>
I don't think many people want to get stuck with the NPC, which makes their inclusion unfortunate along with gender gating.
For the record, I still think there's still a possibility there'll be eight romance. If there are six romances with the 2/2/ approach, I don't see why not only they didn't confirm it, but clarified that it wasn't confirmed.Maybe they'll surprise us. I just don't want to get stuck with the NPC. >.>

The way I see it (and this is purely my own observation), is that characters that BioWare advertise the most pre-release tend to end up being straight or bi options. It's something I've noticed over the last several years, so I'm taking it into account. Realistically, I think both have an equal chance at it.

We must make the sacrifice!
So straight male pcs can have 2 female companion options ![]()

I still hope NPC romances are treated as a bonus.
What do you mean with that?I still hope NPC romances are treated as a bonus.
What do you mean with that?
They don't count towards what is considered to be my 'options'.
My best case scenario would be 3 female and 3 male companion LIs with Cullen counting as a bonus.
I sort of worry about how well they could develop 8 LIs. I mean, I'd be open minded to it working well, but I have to admit I am a little skeptical. I felt like ME really suffered from having too many, both in terms of LI content and in the amount of friendship type content you could have with non-LIs. I just hope that doesn't happen if they double the amount of LI choices this game.
But, honestly, I'm really not expecting it to happen. I'll be surprised if it's not 6 LIs with 4/2 on companion/NPC.

That there is probably my biggest fear romance wise.
My money is on one Bi companion (Sera would be my guess) and a lesbian NPC. Maybe I'm being a pessimist. Though, I continue to call myself a realist.
In this instance, I really want to be wrong, but I'm not going to get my hopes up just yet.

Honestly, I think there's just a prevailing feeling that no AAA game would do something for representation purposes that really cut the straight male options in a substantial way. The general opinion is that the NPC romances are lesser. This is especially so with the option theoretically being Scribbles, because Cullen is a very popular character that's been in all three games, where as she's completely new and so far we know nothing about her. Cassandra is popular because she's been represented so often, but Sera is the most conventionally attractive LI. It's pretty clear that a decent amount of straight guys will want access to both. Neither of them are anywhere near the same as gating off Traynor. There's never been an instance that I know of in gaming where anyone's made a decision like this, so it would be shocking and unprecedented.
I really hope they do it, though. I hope Scribbles is the bi option and everyone gets equal options. I would have just as soon they made all the options available to everyone, but if they're going to opt with gating, I hope they do it in an even way and don't just continue favoring straight guys, as gating has done in every game except DA2, that I'm aware of.
