Right now I can more about the mechanics of the romances then anything.

Do we get more than one chance to start them? Can they be broken off/fail? Does the game/followers/npc react to it?

Stuff like that.

Like in SWTOR:

I liked that what started the Romance with Elara Dorne was a simple "I always have time for you"

I did however find that the romances were really self contained and that kinda felt lame.

I just hope in DAI that a romance is not just something that affects the PC and the character involved.

Sheryl Chee wrote the original, and she's still here. She's writing DHMG as well.

That is completely FALSE information. We have not had a single hint as to who she is writing of the companions.

looking forward to see how a rival romance will work out between Inquisitor and Vivi, if it's possible at all.

They're doing away with the friendship/rivalry system in this game so probably not.

Yeah, I'm not sure they've said anything about who's writing what. We'll probably know soon enough, though.

I would like for them to reintroduce being able to break up with someone.

I wish there was a better way to implement a chance for your character to be a flirt, without having it mean something serious. I like being flirtatious, but I don't always want being flirtatious to mean something dramatic or lead to a "you cheated on me, you bastard" sort of scene.

I wonder...maybe a heart icon with a winky-face in it? Meaning a flirt with no intent!

Based on what? Four sentences from a survey leak from 2+ years ago? We don't know sh!t about him, much less who is writing him. And does it even matter who writes him? Is being a "Sheryl Chee character" going to somehow lessen him as a character?

How does that work?

"Someone came along and smeared this entire character design with Chee! Like they dipped him a giant, bubbling vat of Chee and now I'm going to need a sandblaster and a bottle of turpentine to clean it all off."

For that matter, we don't even have a confirmed name for the man!

I want to know what being Cheeish means or entails so I can aspire to it.

And I suppose the appropriate term for this would be "Chee-sy," not "Chee-ish."

...somehow, I don't think that was your initial reasoning for saying he was a "Chee" character.

Yeah, they made it sound like a bad thing.  If being a successful writer for an awesome video game company is bad, then I wouldn't want to be good.   :P

Allan!

Look at all the posts you've made. My goodness! You are friggin' awesome! It's nice to see an important person from BioWare engaging with the fandom like that. Thank you, just for that! I think that's really cool.

Eh, who needs reason in wild speculation. Really, it's just that he has a flamboyance about his appearance that reminded me a bit of Isabela (who is my favorite DA2 character).

Flamboyance? Based on what? One image where he happened to be throwing his hands up in frustration?

I feel bad them :(. Wynne is definitely my favorite in DA:O (today, tomorrow it may be Shale). Isabela narrowly outstrips Aveline add my favorite in DA2... so it was supposed to be a good thing.

Okay, gotcha.  Then in that case, good job in confusing everyone including the Lady Chee herself!  ;)

I'm still not seeing from this what sort of romance story a homosexual LI could have that a bisexual couldn't have. I'm not at all fond of the "troubles of being gay" route, but it could be told just as easy with a bisexual character, if they feel they absolutely have to do it.

They could have companions and NPCs that are gay without making them LIs. Celene is a lesbian.

I think that there is difference in what comes to stories depending on your sexuality. For example lets assume that you are a son in a noble family and you happen to be gay. You are expected to to find a girl and marry her. Because you are gay then I assume this would be quite agonizing thing to do because you would like to marry a man. If you happened to be a bisexual man then this might be also agonizing to you but because you are bisexual then there are options available to you even if you can't choose any man. I don't see that this situation is as agonizing to bisexual than it is a to a gay man I would say that the tone of the story is quite differrent depending on your sexual orientation.

Another example let's assume that you are straight guy who has lived all of his life in an isloated island where almost everyone is a man. The only available women are too old or are married with somebody. So you can't have a romantic relationship with anyone. But if you happened to be bisexual then there is a change that you would find a partner among the men but you are not bisexual.

So why these stories should have anything to do with a romance? Well if you are that straight guy then it might be a big deal to you that you have been living in that island and not have any romantic relationships and you might not want to discuss about that not even with your closest friends. So that guy could only tell that story to an LI and I think that trust which he will give that LI makes the relationship more deep and meaningful.

Mostly his mustache. And it's not actually based on logic or reason. I think guessing his writer based on silly clues is just as legit add guessing his romantic nature. :P
