I don't really even think the male line up has much for "pretty boys". I'd really like some less obviously masculine male LI choices. Cullen is a "pretty boy" on the level that Chris Evans is, imo. He has a very clean cut, traditionally attractive look, but he's very obviously masculine and he's ripped, like all the male human bases. Everyone else is pretty unconventional.

After Anders/Zevran. I am kinda interested in the new line up as unconventional, and really interested in meeting Sera and seeing quite who she is.

To be honest, I don't really think it's that surprising to see characters like Iron Bull and the warden as men. Sure, they're usually not the "leading man" type, but it's not like finding grizzled, hyper-masculine characters in media is overly difficult. They're pretty common in just about all fantasy stories. What would be more unconventional would be a female like Iron Bull or a male like Vivienne.

Oh, if only he were Chris Evans. If only he were.
Ahem.

Indeed, I wish the sexual dimorphism between lady Qunari and dude Qunari was less pronounced as some concept art shows. Slender, modestly muscular women. I'd prefer if they went the direction of equally large and muscular women closer in size, shape, and tissue density as the dudes. Or, conversely, toned down the mountainous Hulkomania for men.

The sexual dimorophism is no more extreme than that in humans. Female bodybuilders can get huge, but we're not talking about body builders, we're talking about warriors with functional muscle, and women with functional muscle(in the military, mma, and professional wrestling) are still significantly smaller than most men in those same fields.

Chris Evans isn't attractive to me. I know he's a prime example of conventional beauty standards for men. He's just not my thing. lol
I think Iron Bull might just be a special case? He's still way more ridiculous than any other male Qunari we've seen so far. Maybe it's another redesign? I don't know. I do think the female design in comparison to the males is a bit.. well, it's not surprising.

The muscle female qunari have is more in line to what a muscular human woman would be. It is a far cry from their men, an equivalent you are speaking of would make the female qunari have a muscle density about the same as Human Male which is still a far cry from the Qunari men.

Yeah they went od on the males. They look like bulls while the females like like tall grey toned humans. Either they both should look bullish or (preferably to me) the males should look closer to the females in the tall grey human scale.
As it is it looks ridiculous.

This, pretty much. The women we've seen in concept art look like they do have slightly toned human bodies, just a bit taller.

It's also a point where it's unlikely that the main image of a qunari female that we've seen was a combatant herself, being the gender roles in their society.
Personally I would love for qunari women to be that muscular, but that's just me.

Honestly yeah the difference is kinda big.
I mean Male Qunari have MASSIVELY built up necks in comparison.

That guy is also waaaaay smaller than Iron Bull. Like, I don't even know what to make of Iron Bull. He's enormous.

Yes, that is the concept image in particular I was thinking of.
Also, Qunari women still have many physical labor jobs that require strength outside of a soldier profession. They are the blacksmiths, farmers, and the builders, for example.

I thought Sten in DA:O looked different enough to make the point without just looking like an over-muscled human and was perplexed by the sudden boost in protein powder consumption the Qunari in DAII seemed to have taken part in. Iron Bull appears to have eaten all of those guys for breakfast, lunch, second lunch, dinner, and supper. Not a fan of that, myself. We get it, they're big and muscley, but... seriously?
If the Qunari females in DAI look like human women who did a little bodybuilding, I will be pretty annoyed.

More than that, he has cartilage stubs in shoulders, has lobes while she does not, Arms are massive body builder size so at least she should be human male size. I dont want to tangle with the fact she is so much lighter complexion than him, despite all the companions in that picture having the same complexion as their other gender counterpart. He has a sloped forehead, while she does not.
Honestly yeah the difference is kinda big.

Conclusion: Many years ago there was an all male race called Kossith. The name was forgotten, but hey so often married and had children with human/elven women that a blend of the features came about. Male Qunari favor the ancient and extint race of Kossith, while women look hardly like them at all.
Edit: Also eyebrows... Men dont have them women do?

They always meant to make him look more Qunari. They just ran out of resources to do a totally different model

If you remove her horns and recolor her, she would be indistinguishable from a sexy elf woman.
If you remove his horns and recolor him, he would still not look like a human, elf, or dwarf. There's clear dimorphism here.

The first picture is the same musculature as female Qunari, which means that is natural for human women. Also you showed women with small physiques. There are several women with much larger frames than hers which fits more the concept art of the male Human which is natural for a Giant Race.

I don't really take professional wrestlers seriously as "natural muscle growth". Most of the men are on steroids and the women are just there for titillation almost all of the time. The matches are scripted. It's just a soap opera for dudes.
I don't believe video game characters are designed for "realism", anyway. Iron Bull and a tiny elven girl can, in all likeliness, swing the same weaponry with the same effectiveness.

...Am I the only one getting the weird mental image of a few lady qunari construction workers wolf whistling at a blushing qunari scholar dude.

Still why Qunari males gotta look so bleh tho. Especially when they're females are pretty much tall greyskinned female humans with horns.
